Toy Repair Shop

Have a broken toy? You're in luck! Donny runs a Toy Repair Shop on the peak of Terror Mountain to fix toys for any Neopian who visits him.

Donny

List of Repairable Toys

Not all broken toys are created equal. There is a specific set that Donny can repair for you. For a full list, see our Repairable special category in the Item Database. If an item is not listed there, Donny will not be able to repair it.

How to Repair

To repair a toy, simply make sure the item is in your inventory and then visit Donny. He will ask which item from your inventory you wish to have fixed. Clicking on it will result in Donny asking you if you'd like to have it repaired, along with the cost.

Confirm you wish to repair the toy

If an item can't be repaired, Donny will tell you so:

Cost

The cost for repairing a toy can range from 250 to 499 NP. Occasionally, Donny will waive the fee and offer to repair an item for free.

The cost will remain the same even if you ask Donny multiple times. However, this cost is actually based on each item's inventory ID. This means that if you remove the item from your inventory and then bring it back (such as putting it in and out of your Safety Deposit Box), Donny will quote a new price or possibly offer for free!

This also means that if you add multiples of one item to your inventory at the same time (such as removing qty 10 from your SDB), each one will cost 1 NP more than the previous one! This pattern continue from 250 NPs up to 499 NPs, then will be free for the next 50 items, before starting over again at 250 NPs.

When repaired, the Bag of Broken Neopoints will result in a gain of 1,000-2,000 NP. Depending on the price of the bag and the cost of repair, this could be an advantageous way to make a few NP.

Results

Despite you hoping to have your toy repaired, a few things could happen to your item. The outcome is random each time; there is no way to predict what will happen before handing it over to Donny!

Coughing Fit

Sometimes Donny will have a fit of coughs while repairing your toy. This is temporary; simply pat him on the back to continue on to a final outcome. You may have to pat him multiple times!

Donny breaks out in a horrible coughing fit.
"I'll just *cough* be a second *hack cough* whew *cough*"
Donny hacks and coughs. Maybe he's trying to breathe water.
"I haven't *hack cough* had a fit this bad *cough* since back in the winter of '42!"

Donny regains his breath and manages to stop coughing. "Thanks, ye time-wastin' dolt! Now ta get on with the repairs..."

Fixed!

Of course, Donny can fix your broken toy and turn it back into its old shiny self.

Donny manages to repair the item!

"Ha! I told ye I could do it! Now begone, ye fur-bitin' good-fer-nothin' prawn."

Damaged Beyond Repair

Rarely, Donny will accidentally destroy your toy while trying to fix it, turning it into a Pile of Rubble or Pile of Sludge, which he will give to you.

The item explodes on Donny's workbench, leaving a pile of rubble!

Donny is too stunned to say anything.
The item disintegrates on Donny's workbench, leaving a pile of useless sludge!

"Sorry it didn't work out, but I tried me best. But it sure is a pretty pile o' sludge, innit?"

Alternate Prize

Rarely, Donny fails to fix your toy and will instead provide an alternative item as a sign of apology. Most of these items are also available as TCG Rare Item Code prizes (with a few exceptions).

Donny is unable to repair the item, try as he might.

"Well, I couldn't fix it, so here's somethin' I had lyin' around the shop."

Breakable Toys

Not all toys are capable of being broken. There is a specific set that will be broken while playing. For a full list, see our Breakable special category in the Item Database. If an item is not listed there, it cannot be broken.

How to Break a Toy

Toys can be randomly broken while using them to play with your pet. Breakable Chia plushies will always break when played with by a Lupe, but cannot be broken by other species. All other breakable toys have a 10% chance of breaking each time you play with any species of pet.

Response Text

Playing With a Broken Toy

  • [PET NAME] says 'Gee thanks :('
  • [PET NAME] says 'Grrrrrrrr!'
  • [PET NAME] says 'HISSSSSS!'
  • [PET NAME] says 'How dare you! I want a toy that isnt broken'

  • [PET NAME] says 'Oh GREAT! A [ITEM NAME] to play with... whoopee!'
  • [PET NAME] says 'That is so typical of you! Im annoyed now :('
  • [PET NAME] says 'That is SO unfair... you are mean!'
  • [PET NAME] says 'What???!! Im not playing with that, its broken!!'
  • [PET NAME] says 'Why cant I have a proper toy?'

Special Exceptions

Some items are not able to go back and forth between broken and repaired, but instead only one way! It is unknown if these are intentional or glitches.

Unrepairable Broken Toys

All of these toys can be created by breaking a normal toy, but cannot be repaired back into the normal toy.

Unbreakable Repairable Toys

All of these toys can be created by repairing a broken version, but cannot break on their own! Both pencil items can no longer be played with as their category has been changed to School (instead of Toy), while the Fake Uni Hat is presumably unbreakable due to a name change (from "100% Fake Uni Hat").

Repairable Items in Plots

Repairing items in Donny's shop has been a feature of two different plots:

Unconfirmed Toys

Jellyneo has not been able to confirm the breakability or repairability of the below toys. If you can confirm one, please let us know with a link to a screenshot!
