TNT has posted their September update on a wide variety of topics over on the main portal site. This is a continuation of this style of update, which first started in May as a replacement for monthly AMAs.

The most notable update is confirmation that the Festival of Fears will be arriving on October 23rd this month! We expect this to simply be the traditional trick-or-treating event with a new hub to archive the story elements.

With that, let's get into a summary of this month's updates! (Note: there's a lot of content in the update that is "old news"—already recently reported on by JN over the past few weeks! We're going to skip the details on those and link our relevant updates instead at the end.)

Community Q&A
This month's Q&A is light, here's a summary:

• A block feature for the Neoboards is part of the Q4 plan.
• More stamps aimed at completing album pages are planned for the rest of the year.
• VPNs continue to be risky to use, as cheaters also use the same networks quite often and make it hard to distinguish from normal users.
• TNT has also acknowledged an uptick in account hijackings, and thus the account recovery process with support is getting a little stricter with higher wait times. They're working to improve the wait times, and a deeper update on account recovery is expected in the future.

In-Person Events Planned in New York
There were also some reminders about two fan meetups in New York that are happening this weekend:

• A "Scavenger Hunt Adventure" from 4:00-4:45pm at Bella Abzug Park in Manhattan on October 10th (tomorrow!). This would be concurrent with New York Comic Con, though not a part of that convention.
• A "Fan Meet Up" from 7:00-8:00pm at RetroGameCon in Syracuse on October 10th (tomorrow!). This will seemingly be part of the convention, and so require a ticket to attend.

Although these take place at or during conventions that Neopets has attended in the past, Neopets itself will not be officially in attendance at either convention.

NC Mall Plans
Apart from the usual mystery capsule and Dyeworks releases, TNT has announced that the NC Upcycle Fortune Cookie will be getting a prize update with "new and returning items."


No teasers for the next batch of Pet Styles were provided this time!

Upcoming Updates
TNT provides news on some anticipated updates:

• Most notably, the "Festival of Fears" is scheduled to arrive on October 23rd—which we believe to be the usual Trick-or-Treating mini-event, but this year with an expanded hub to make past stories and lore available for reading all year round.
• A "full page redesign" of the Trading Post with "streamlined trading features" is still in the design phase.
• The site-wide Varwolf event is in the design phase. (No date provided, but last time it was "November.")

Yet another avatar has been discovered, adding on to the five discovered yesterday.


This avatar is obtained when your Neopet is zapped to the colour Snot by the Lab Ray.

Faerie Fragments is celebrating the 1-year anniversary of its launch with a social media contest with some, um, surprising prizes!


Participation involves sharing an image of "art, memes, cosplays, in-game screenshots, or anything you dream up" on one of Instagram, X, TikTok, or Facebook. The post must be hashtagged with #Neopets and #FaerieFragmentsCon. The post must also be public, so that TNT can see it.

20 winners will be selected by TNT based on the quality of the post, while 10 winners will be selected by a random lottery. The prizes include a combo of Faerie Fragments and Neopets.com items:

Even more avatars have been discovered this morning! (If you missed it, an avatar for having 100 game trophies was discovered earlier.)

A new "Building Sand Castles" avatar is awarded while playing with your Neopet. The avatar is random while playing with an item with "sand" in its name. (If you're going for the Peek-a-Boo avatar, you can double dip by playing with a Baby-coloured Neopet!)

Next, a "Muddy Paws" avatar is awarded from grooming a Neopet with a Doglefox attached using a "Soap" item. We've confirmed that the age and colour of the Doglefox do not matter (it can even be zapped into a Doglefox).

Next, a "Grave Tombstone" avatar is in some way available from Grave Danger. We've seen a report of it being awarded immediately after starting a journey, though our testing shows it does not seem to be guaranteed. If you receive this avatar, let us know the details!

Another AIM icon has also been released as an avatar. This one is seemingly awarded from viewing the pet lookup for any Maraquan Lupe. Thank you to luthien for offering their pet Lomsie to do this!

This can be awarded by viewing your user lookup while having 100 or more unique Game Trophies. This refers to trophies in the literal "Game Trophies" section of your user lookup; Site Event and Site Feature trophies do not count. Trophies with multipliers also only count as one.
