A new re-release mystery capsule has debuted in the NC Mall! This capsule includes items from the Winter Shop over the years.

This capsule also comes in two different bundles that give a lower per-capsule price:

To see what's inside the new re-release capsule, check out our Mystery Capsule guide! If you open one up, let us know if you receive a prize not listed on our guide!

In addition, a new limited edition item capsule has also been released, with some icy, wintry items:

Fan Art Program Launch

Today, Neopets has launched the Fan Art Program, with the list of officially approved artists live.

The program is a curated list of artists with links to their own, independent shops for purchasing digital artwork and goods. (Physical goods aren't allowed through this program, as those licenses are reserved for merch partners.) Currently, no more artists are being accepted to the program. Applications were previously available almost a year to the day ago, on January 10, 2024. TNT does not oversee or get involved with your communications and purchases from these sellers, so do note that purchases are at your own risk.

Here's the FAQ:

What is the Neopets Fan Art Program?
The Fan Art Program is an official Neopets initiative to help promote creatives and artists within our community to make and sell Neopets work, with full permission and endorsement from Neopets. Artists apply to be a part of the program, and if accepted, have a personalised shop front on our official website.

How do I purchase from creators?
Here, you can browse through a curated collection of artist profiles. When you’re ready to explore a purchase or want to find out more, you can click on the link on their profile that takes you directly to their store! There, you can proceed with purchases or contact them directly to ask questions.

What happens if I have a question or concern?
If you have a question for a creator or artist, we recommend contacting them directly via their store. If you have a concern relating to the program, notice an inactive or closed store, or see something you think is inappropriate, please contact us at [email protected].

Quest Log Daily & Weekly Prizes Updated

This afternoon, TNT refreshed the prizes for the daily quests and weekly streaks over at the Quest Log!

These prizes are expected to be around till some time in March—there's no set date that the prizes are rotated out, just roughly every 2 months. (Last time was November 11th!)

A few of the new weekly streak prizes we've confirmed so far!

A few of the new daily prizes we've confirmed so far!

As with the past rotation, if you are currently working towards a weekly prize, you may continue to make progress and then claim it.

Check out our full guide to the Quest Log and view the updated prizes as we confirm them:

Gnorbu Day Roundup

It's officially Gnorbu Shearing Day, so check out what's new for this floofy species!

Valentine

If you plan on creating a Valentine Gnorbu, check out our Modeling page, as we'll need your help!

A cosy scarf is restocking at Uni's Clothing Shop:

Ugga Shinies also has a new foreground depicting the holiday:

Your freshly shorn Gnorbu can warm up with a latte from the Coffee Cave:

Finally, a bit of a surprise: a new Petpetpet! Say hello to the Floof!

The New Features implies this Petpetpet will only be available through the Almost Abandoned Attic, which we expect will make it extremely rare. There should also be a teensy, tiny, itty-bitty, almost-zero chance you can receive one from turning in an original Treasure Map set, though redemption of these remains broken and will often eat your map pieces without awarding such prizes, so attempt at your own risk!

Rubbish Dump Day, Saturday, January 4th!

Welcome to the 1st Saturday of the month: Rubbish Dump Day!

In April 2022, TNT updated the Rubbish Dump to increase the drop rate of "rubbish" eligible for the avatar. (And we've even seen some Hidden Tower items pop up that weren't previously confirmed as prizes!)

The Rubbish Dump is special in that items dropped there appear after a Neopian refreshes the dump. (In other words, refreshing the page gives you the chance to "donate" some rubbish to the queue.) The more people visiting and refreshing, the more rubbish dropped, and the more opportunities there are for avatar items to appear!

Starting now, and continuing all day, here's how you can gather and participate:

If you DON'T have the avatar...
  • Visit the Rubbish Dump in Meridell and refresh to generate rubbish!
  • Claim up to 8 pieces of rubbish to clear the way for more items to appear. (And make sure not to claim anything from the Money Tree or Second-Hand Shoppe... it's 10 items max from all 3 locations combined!)
  • To be safe from accidental clicks, save your last 2 rubbish claims for when an avatar item pops up. (You can claim up to 10 items from the Rubbish Dump per day.)
  • Review our guide to familiarize yourself with which items are eligible for the avatar.

If you DO have the avatar...
  • Visit the Rubbish Dump in Meridell and refresh to help generate rubbish! Even if you have the avatar, refreshing helps generate more "donations" that will show up later. (And that means more opportunities for avatar items to pop up!)
  • Claim up to 10 pieces of rubbish to help clear the way for avatar-eligible items to appear.
  • Be kind and leave the cheaper avatar-eligible items (like the Fading Bottled Faeries) for those who need the avatar! We won't mind, however, if you try sniping a Dung Catapult.

The more the merrier, so share this post with your Neofriends and guildmates!

As you participate, let us know in the comments what junk—or treasures—you've seen or picked up! And let us know if you get the avatar so we can celebrate with you.

Can't get enough rubbish? Mark your calendars and join us on the first Saturday of next month—February 1st—for our next Rubbish Dump Day!
