The Wheel of Monotony is located on the Tyrannian Plateau. It costs 150 NP per spin, and may be spun twice per day. The second daily spin was added on September 18, 2025; prior to this, the Wheel of Monotony could only be spun once per day.
Unlike other wheels, this one takes several hours to finish spinning and reward a prize—certainly living up to its name. Currently, the wheel takes between 48 and 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete spinning, depending on whether or not you grease it. Previous versions of the wheel took anywhere between 2 hours and 9 hours to finish.
Spinning Mechanics
While spinning, you can still browse, play games, and chat in Neopia in another browser tab. The tab with the wheel must remain open at all times, but can be hidden or minimized in the background. The wheel does not need to remain visible.
Closing the tab or browser window in which the wheel is spinning will cause the spin to fail. Your computer or device must also stay awake the entire time—if if falls asleep, the wheel will pause. You must wait for it to finish spinning to get your prize!
Fun fact—when the Quiggle to the side looks at his watch, it means that you've reached the halfway mark!
Preventing Lag
The Wheel of Monotony can cause extreme lag on your device since it runs for so long. You can prevent this by muting the wheel by clicking the speaker icon in the bottom right corner. You must mute the wheel itself—simply muting your browser tab or your device will not work because the website is still creating noise (and lag), your browser or device is just stopping you from hearing it.
Failed Spin
If you do accidentally refresh your page, or close out of the tab or window entirely, you will see the following pop-up when you return:
If this happens, you must wait out the remaining time from your original spin. When that timer expires, you can revisit the wheel to receive a refund for your failed spin—including any money you may have spent to "grease" the wheel. A failed spin does not count as one of your 2 spins for the day.
Extra Spins
All players receive their first spin automatically. Simply click the wheel to activate the spin.
Active Premium players will also receive their second spin automatically; simply click the wheel again to activate the second spin.
Non-Premium players will need to watch an ad to receive their second spin. A button will be presented alongside the result of the first spin to launch the ad.
Using Boons
Certain factions give the opportunity of activating the Right Round Round Round boon if you side with them and they emerge victorious from the Battleground of the Obelisk. When selected, this boon allows you to spin the wheel twice before the usual waiting period comes into effect. You have to refresh the page after your first spin before you can spin again.
Greasing the Wheel
Beginning April 15, 2026, players can now "grease" the wheel. Setting the laws of physics aside, this means the wheel spins faster, and also takes less time to finish. The wheel must be greased before spinning—once the wheel has already started, you cannot speed it up. You must donate a minimum of 10,000 NP and cannot donate more than 200,000 NP.
