The Void Within Plot Guide

UPDATE, Friday, June 28th: Day 1 of collecting void essences will run through all of today, Friday June 28th, effectively functioning as a Day 1.5 like the start of many other events. Each day will reset at midnight going forward, with the weekly countdown timer resetting at midnight on Fridays.

The first real plot step in the Void Within Plot has now begun! After viewing the dialog at the plot hub, Dr. Landelbrot will ask you to begin gathering void essences across Neopia, which look like this:


They will appear in set Neopian lands that will seemingly be changing each day. For today, June 27th, the lands appear to be Brightvale, Meridell, and Roo Island. Once you have located one, click on it to pick it up.

There are 10 essences to collect per day, and they will will award you with 5 plot points each (50 per day). There will be a bonus for finding 80% of the available void essences in a week, as well as a community bonus if players collectively reach 10 million essences located. Reading today's dialog will also grant you an additional 1 plot point.

The FAQ for this section of the plot is now working. Some of the most relevant questions are:

Can I collect essences from past days?
No, you will not be able to collect essences from past days.

What prizes can I get and when?
You can get plot points for gathering individual essences, additionally, if 80% of available essences are collected in a week, you can also get a weekly bonus prize! This includes plot points and 1 random item from the Void Essence Collection Prize Pool.

There are also community goals that the community can work towards to get extra special prizes as well! In order to be eligible for the prizes you’ve had to have collected essences during the milestone goal period.

How long will the event last?
The Void Essence Collection Activity will run from June 27th to the end of the plot!

Belated after each Coltzan's Shrine and The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity (TDMBGPOP) turned grey in May, yesterday new exclusive grey prizes started being awarded from these dailies!



These new prizes may or may not stay around after the plot concludes (which started on June 17th), so give these activities a try today to see if you're lucky enough to grab one!


If you win an existing normal (non-grey and non-burnt) Desert Food from the Shrine or an existing (non-grey) Discarded Plushie from TDMBGPOP while these dailies are in their grey state, please let us know in the comments! (The original Desert Foods and TDMBGPOP plushies have been confirmed to still be rewarded, thanks!!)

Today, another page has been added to chapter 1 of the plot storyline!


As with the previous comic pages, if you click on each of the panels, a button will appear under the comic to claim a prize:


This will also earn you an additional 1 plot point in the rewards tab.

UPDATE, 6:30 PM NST: At some point this evening, a few new grey items have started dropping from the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie along with Coltzan's Shrine:

UPDATE, JUNE 24TH 10:00AM NST: We now have reports that the Act I Fearless Deed "From the Very Beginning" may now have retired as of 10am NST on Monday the 24th, which is a full week since the plot began. The rest of the steps aside from this Fearless Deed remain achievable.

Today, page 4 of chapter 1 has been made available under the Story tab.

Viewing the message will grant you an additional +1 plot points along with the following item:


And reading all 4 pages of chapter 1 will complete the "From the Very Beginning" achievement for an additional +10 points.

As a note, the +11 points for reading page 4 and checking off the first achievement is still available on Monday, despite the achievement text saying "before the first week ends." If you haven't completed all of the actions yet, you still have the opportunity to do so. See update above.

MINOR GLITCH: Just a note about a small glitch. Currently, when you view another Neopian's userlookup, their trophy for the plot will display your current accumulated prize points, rather than the other users' points. This does not seem to have any negative affect on your own progress, just a visual glitch to keep in mind.
