Core Buildings
Within Tales of Dacardia, any buildings not used for gathering items are grouped together as Core Buildings.
Functionally, these can be grouped together into two groups. There are those that hold a specific function, such as for providing tasks for NPCs or crafting. There are also those that hold no real function and are for decorative purposes. None can currently be upgraded with Building Materials.

Purpose: Consume items to turn into Building Materials and playing of mini-game to earn possible bonus Building Materials and Pearly Neggs

Neohome
Availability: Upon unlocking Neopets
Building Cost: 5 Building Materials (1st), 10 Building Materials (2nd & 3rd)
Building Time: 30 Seconds (1st), 1 Minute & 30 Seconds (2nd), 3 Minutes & 30 Seconds (3rd)
Purpose: Allows access to assigned Neopet's Menu; also Decorative and can be customised
Encyclopedia Entry: A Neohome designed by Lania Cragg to evoke traditional Dacardian style. It's cosy, compact, and comfy - perfect for all kinds of Neopets!
Omelette Slab
Availability: From quest Snack to Reality in questline Food With Friends

Purpose: Allows Omelette Crafting and playing of mini-game to earn possible bonus Pearly Neggs
Encyclopedia Entry: Dacardia's Omelette Slab is where the locals go to cook up some fabulous food and friendly conversation. Gather some of Dacardia's fine, fresh resources, toss 'em on the slab, and enjoy your meal!
Antiquity-Fixity
Availability: From quest Fixer-Upper in questline Welcome to Decor-dia!

Building Time: 4 Minutes & 30 Seconds
Purpose: Allows Decoration Crafting and playing of mini-game to earn possible bonus Pearly Neggs
Encyclopedia Entry: A strange, flying workshop that used to travel all around Dacardia looking for knick-knacks and other odds and ends to turn into décor. Nowadays, it stays grounded for ease-of-access... after all, it's not easy to find a flying building!
Rainbow Treehouse
Availability: From quest Colour Tree-tment in questline Colour Coordinating
Building Cost: 15 Building Materials
Building Time: 13 Minutes & 30 Seconds
Purpose: Allows Customisation Crafting
Encyclopedia Entry: The Rainbow Treehouse is nestled in a strong, sturdy tree that sits in a pool of magic rainbow water. In this kaleidoscopic pool, Essences can be mixed - and those Essences can be used to add a splash of colour to Dacardia by fusing them with Paint Brushes and Rollers!
Buddy Bulletin Board
Availability: From quest Post Construction in questline A Pearl-fect Opportunity
Building Cost: 10 Building Materials
Building Time: 1 Minute
Purpose: Allows completion of tasks for NPCs for Pearly Negg rewards (and Neopoints for connected accounts)
Encyclopedia Entry: Dacardia's daily-updated delivery post for odd jobs and odder requests. If someone needs help, then the Buddy Bulletin is the place to go - and if you're looking to help out, then the Buddy Bulletin is the place to be!
Pearly Parlour
Availability: From quest Let's Talk Shop in questline A Pearl-fect Opportunity
Building Cost: 10 Building Materials
Building Time: 1 Minute
Purpose: Allows purchasing of items and blueprints with Pearly Neggs. Also houses the Premium Parlour and Crabby Capsules.
Encyclopedia Entry: The Pearly Parlour is Dacardia's glittering, gleaming general store: a place where Neopets in need can go to check daily deals and purchase rare and unusual items. Everything here can be bought with Pearly Neggs - hence the name!
Wheel of Prizes
Availability: From quest Take It For A Spin in questline Eyes on the Prize
Building Cost: 10 Building Materials
Building Time: 1 Minute
Purpose: Allows daily spinning of wheel for bonus in-game items or currency (and possibly Neopoints and on-site for connected accounts)
Encyclopedia Entry: Spinning wheels are some of Neopia's most popular attractions! While she was studying abroad, Ariel visited many lands in Neopia and spun all their wheels. She had so much fun she wanted to bring that back to Dacardia - and so she invented the Wheel of Prizes!
Festival Plaza
Availability: From the first quest of your first
event questline.
Building Cost: 30 Building Materials
Building Time: 15 Minutes
Purpose: Allows completion of limited time
event quests
Encyclopedia Entry: The Festival Plaza is the heart of every Dacardian celebration. It can be decorated for any occasion, from the Winter Starlight Celebration to the Altador Cup to Valentine's Day or Halloween... as long as you have the right Paint Roller!
Note: This building is only available to build during
events, but remains in your town afterward.
Crabby Arena
Availability: From quest Yooyuball Get To Play! in event questline For The Home Team or purchased from the Pearly Parlour.
Building Cost: 100 Building Materials
Building Time: 15 Minutes
Purpose: Allows playing of mini-game to earn possible event Resources and bonus Pearly Neggs
Encyclopedia Entry: A sports arena designed and built in commemoration of the Altador Cup... but also because the Crabby-bots really wanted to play Yooyuball. Yooyus arent' [sic] the only athletic little critters out there, after all!
Note: This building was available via a quest between August 5th, 2024, and August 31st, 2024 during the Altador Cup crossover event, but can now be purchased from the Pearly Parlour.
Decorative Buildings
Island Head Remnants
Availability: From quest Butting Heads in questline Pan Around The World
Building Cost: 40 Building Materials
Building Time: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Encyclopedia Entry: A small, out-of-the way but scenic spot on the Dacardian Coast. It seems to have some historical significance despite the design for the Island Heads originating from Mystery Island.
Archaeology Campsite
Availability: From quest Camp You Feel It? in questline A Site For Sore Eyes
Building Cost: 50 Building Materials
Building Time: 1 Hour 45 Minutes
Encyclopedia Entry: Even though he's from Dacardia, Pan Almas is an explorer and archaeologist that roams all of Neopia. He prefers to sleep under the stars, so when he's visiting the Dacardian Coast, this is where he stays.
