Premium Basics
Neopets Premium is a service offering a variety of perks and site enhancements to players willing to pay a subscription fee.

Like the NC Mall, Neopets Premium is a way for players to support the Neopets site by spending real-world money. However, while the Mall takes one-off payments in return for single items, Premium is a longer-term commitment, taking a periodic subscription fee until the player chooses to cancel. In return, Premium subscribers have access to a variety of perks that make Neopets a more interesting or convenient experience.

Payments
You can use a credit or debit card (remember to ask the cardholder's permission if the card is not in your name) or PayPal to pay for Premium. At the moment, there is no option to pay for Premium with Neocash. You'll need to enter your real name, address, and billing details, but don't worry—they won't be available to other players on Neopets.
Prices
The price of subscribing to Neopets Premium depends on how often you would like to pay:
- Monthly: $7.95 per month, which works out to $95.40 per year
- Annually: $69.95 per year, effectively $5.83 per month
There was also formerly an option of $24.95 per 4-months (effectively $6.24 per month or $74.85 per year). This option was discontinued for new subscribers on September 27, 2023. However, if you were already on a 4-month plan, it will continue to auto-renew in 4-month intervals and the 4-month price until you cancel. If you cancel and want to resubscribe, you will need to choose either the monthly or annual plan instead.
These prices have not changed since Premium was first introduced all the way back in 2004!
Premium Sales
For many years, annual Premium memberships have gone on sale. These were originally intended to celebrate the anniversary of Premium's revamp in June 2012, so it usually occurred during the summer, but slowly drifted into later months. Additionally, for a few early years, a "holiday" version of the sale was offered. Below is the history of past Premium sales.

No Sales in 2022 or 2023
For the first time in many years, no Premium sale was offered in 2022. On September 9, 2022, TNT wrote in the Editorial that they had "every intention of making the sale this year" in 2022, but first needed to update their payment processing system. The sale never took place, and it was again skipped over in 2023.
2024: May 23rd - June 6th Sale
This promotion did not offer any discount to the annual subscription price (it remained at $69.95), but for the first time offered an incentive of 2,000 NC to any new annual subscribers. Only Neopians completely new to Premium were eligible, or Neopians who upgraded their 1- or 4-month subscription plans to the annual option.
The 2,000 NC was given out over three lump sums:
- 1st week of July 2024: 600 NC
- 1st week of August 2024: 600 NC
- 1st week of September 2024: 800 NC
The bonus deposits will appear in your NC Transaction Log as a recharge with detail prem_bonus.
The July bonus was deposited automatically into accounts on July 3. An email announcing it was sent out to users on July 10:
Despite the phrasing of the "Claim" button, users did not need to do anything to receive the Neocash
The August bonus was awarded on August 12, and was not accompanied by an announcement email.
The September bonus was awarded on September 9, and was not accompanied by an announcement email.
Referrals
Signing up for Premium used to require a referral from a current member. This is no longer the case. There is no longer a Premium Referral system.
Side Accounts
Unfortunately, you cannot have Premium on your side accounts. You can only subscribe to Premium on your main account. (If you decide to switch your main account, you should wait until your active Premium subscription runs out.)
Premium Customer Support
The Premium Boards include a Help board where you can ask questions to other Premium users concerning any difficulties with Premium. The Neopets Help page used to include a dedicated FAQ about Premium, but it's not currently available, so if other users can't help you then you'll need to submit a traditional support ticket outlining your issue.
Checking the Status of Your Account
Your current subscription runs out at your next billing date, which you can find here. If your plan is listed as "recurring," you will be billed automatically on that date, and your Premium membership renewed.
Updating Your Payment Information
If something about your bank details changes—for instance, if your debit card expires and you have to get a new one—you may find that your Premium perks suddenly vanish into thin air. Don't panic! This is a common occurrence with a fairly easy fix. Simply go to the Premium drop-down link, and update in order to re-subscribe.
