Obtaining Styles
To get started, you'll need to purchase a Styling Studios Supplies item from the NC Mall, or directly from the Styling Studio page:
Bundle Updates! The original 5-Bundles retired on June 14, 2024 and were replaced with updated 5-Bundles which contained more of the same Supplies type as the bonus. The 10-Bundles were introduced at this time.
Limited Time Discount! The above single Supplies and original 5-Bundles were discounted to half off at the
NC Mall during the introductory period through February
14 21, 2024. They were then each discounted to 25% off until February 22, 202
9 as a placeholder, with the sale date eventually ending on May 10, 2024.
Bundles can only be purchased direct from the NC Mall! They are
not available at the Styling Studio.
Purchasing any of the Bundles will deposit the number of Styling Studio Supplies (SSS) in the Bundle directly into your inventory. For example, purchasing the Deluxe 5-Bundle will fill your inventory with 6 individual Deluxe Styling Studio Supplies (DSSS).
Regular vs. Deluxe Supplies?
The regular Styling Studio Supplies can be exchanged for a random Pet Style colour option that is currently available in the Mall (from the always available and rotating options).
The Deluxe Styling Studio Supplies, on the other hand, can be exchanged for a specific colour option that is currently available in the Mall (from the always available and rotating options).
In both cases, you always pick the specific species you'd like first. The species is never randomly chosen for you.
The Deluxe supplies are more expensive, and thus you will need to pay more NC in order to be guaranteed the colour you're after.
Note, if you're interested in Prismatic Pet Styles, then you will need both the Pet Style you wish to recolour and a Prismatic Brush purchasable in the NC Mall. See our Prismatic Styles section for more details.
Exchanging Your Supplies
Once you're ready to obtain a Pet Style for your Neopet, have at least 1 supplies item in your inventory. Head back to the Styling Studio. (You can also navigate there from any Beta/converted page from the top menu: Shop > NC > Styling Studio.) You must already have your pet be the desired species for the Pet Style you wish to obtain. You also cannot re-colour any existing Pet Styles items, but you may obtain additional styles for any pet on your account.
You'll see the species that are currently on your account as blue and all others (non-owned) will be in greyscale. Click on the species of Neopet you wish to obtain the Pet Style for, and you'll see the colours currently available for that species:

Some species have additional always-available colours! This means you can have a 1-in-4 or 1-in-5 chance to get your desired style when using a regular Styling Studio Supplies though.
Some species only have 1 or 2 colours available, which makes the regular Styling Studio Supplies more enticing!
Some species might possibly have no options available at certain times :(
If you do not currently have a supplies item in your inventory when you select a species, you'll have the option of purchasing either of the regular Styling Studio Supplies or the Deluxe Styling Studio Supplies directly from the current pop-up window. Reminder—you can get a better value from Bundles in the NC Mall!
To obtain a Pet Style, you must click to select the desired pet (even if you only have one of that species) and it will appear with a green box around it. Then click to select which supplies item you wish to use (it will also appear with a green box), then click the green "I'm Ready" button. If you fail to select either a pet or supplies, the button will remain greyed out.

You'll be asked to confirm that you really wish to use your supplies. For the regular Styling Studio Supplies you'll get a preview of which style you might receive, and for the Deluxe Styling Studio Supplies you'll choose which specific style you wish to receive (as boxed in green):

After clicking "I'm Sure!", you'll see a success message and your pet will automatically have the new Pet Style applied!
In using the regular Styling Studio Supplies item, the colour you receive will be randomly selected for you, and you cannot choose which colour you'll receive! If you want to choose a specific desired colour, you must instead use a Deluxe Styling Studio Supplies. The resulting new style is also just like a normal NC item: you can trade it, wear it, place it in galleries, etc., but first you'll need to visit the Styling Chamber.
