About Pet Styles

On January 23, 2024, Umbra opened up their Styling Studio to allow Neopians to change the appearance of their Neopets with Pet Styles, a way of altering the look and pose of your Neopet. At their studio you can obtain additional styles—you'll need one of Umbra's supplies and the corresponding pet species desired to get started.

Pet Styles replaced Unconverted (UC) Neopets. All Neopets that were still in an Unconverted form at the time of release were automatically converted, and awarded the corresponding Nostalgic Style item (colloquially known as a "token"). These are special Neocash items that are applied to your pet in a similar fashion to wearables. Your pet may not wear any on-body wearables (clothing, accessories, handhelds, etc) while a style is applied, but it may be customised with backgrounds, foregrounds, filters, trinkets, etc— anything not on-body.

To change your pet's style, you'll need to visit the Styling Chamber.

Any pet that is wearing a Pet Style that is transferred or abandoned will have the style item returned your Styling Chamber. Like NC wearables, Pet Style items must be transferred or traded between accounts using a gift box.

Currently Available Styles

Some styles are always available at the Styling Studio. These are usually referred to as "permanent" styles. Other styles are only available at the Styling Studio shop for a limited time, usually for about a month.

Previously Available Styles & Restyling

After a non-permanent Pet Style is removed from the Styling Studio, it is no longer available to be created at the Styling Studio. It can only be obtained by trading with other players or potentially as a lucky pull from restyling. Numerous styles have been re-released at the Studio some time again later, so if you miss a colour drop, it may be available again in the future.

Prismatic Styles

Some Style items can be recoloured into variations and issued as a new Prismatic Style item, similar to Dyeworks. These are typically only available for a limited time.
