Abbreviation for 'Armoured Negg'. A magical negg which, when fed to your pet, awards a defence point and one of several defence items.

[æn'aʊnst 'gɪvəwɛɪ] - noun
A message on the Neoboards advertising the fact that a player is giving away items. This is against the rules.

['ænθɹoʊ] - adjective, noun
(1) A style of drawing which depicts Neopets, whatever their species, as having a similar build and moving in a similar way to humans. For instance, a Lupe might stand only on his hind legs. The opposite of quad.
(2) A Neopet drawn in this style, especially in the Beauty Contest.

Abbreviation for "Atlas of the Ancients". The Flash-game based plot in Year Eleven that followed Roxton Colchester and Clara Chatham on a voyage around the world, eventually leading to the discovery of Moltara. Somewhat infamous for its badly-handled time-based challenges.

Abbreviation for "Attack of the Revenge", most often used when talking about a highly sought-after background based on the pirate-themed Flash game of that name.
Not to be confused with AotA.

Abbreviation of "Attack Pea". A Battledome weapon originally obtained at the Smugglers' Cove. A small but surprisingly powerful vegetable.

When not being used to refer to the common fruit, this is most often an abbreviation for "Appetising Caramel Apple", a wearable Hallowe'en-themed item that was available from a Neocash Mystery Capsule.

Someone who wants to be considered as the new owner of a pet that is Up For Adoption (UFA).

A letter sent to the current owner of a UFA (Up for Adoption) pet explaining why you want to adopt that pet, and how you see him or her fitting into your life on Neopets.

To try and convince the current owner of a pet who is UFA (Up for Adoption) that you would make a suitable permanent new owner for that pet.

Abbreviation for Sword of Ari. A Battledome item available from the Hidden Tower.

An item sold in the Hidden Tower, the Faerie Queen's secret shop in Faerie City. All artifacts have the rarity index 200, and they cannot be bought in the regular shops.

[ɛɪɛsdʒiː] - noun
Abbreviation for "All-Star Group". A group of very high-scoring Yooyuball players, who enter the Altador Cup with the specific aim of making whatever team they join win.

Abbreviation for "Altador Strength Potion". A magical item that was a prize for completing the Faeries' Ruin plot.
Nothing to do with snakes.

Asplode
[æs'ploʊd] - verb
(1) A comical misspelling of the word "explode".
(2) A fan term for the Neopets Team's practice of automatically locking Neoboard topics (blocking anyone from adding further posts) when they exceed 500 replies, regardless of content. A thread that is automatically locked in this way is said to have "asploded" due to too many replies. Users may also try to "asplode" a board themselves before this happens.

The Almost Abandoned Attic, a shop only available to users who have been on the site for three years or more. It is run by a surprisingly chirpy Ghost Aisha.

The price a seller will accept for his/her item immediately, without negotiation. Generally seen on the Trading Post, or boards advertising trades.

['ɔːtoʊbaɪjə ] - noun
(1) A computer program that buys items from the Neopian shops for you, without your having to click or type. Using one of these is very much against the rules and grounds for an immediate freezing.
(2) A person who uses such a program.

The icon used to represent a player on the Neoboards. You can choose from a wide variety. Some "secret avatars" have to be unlocked by completing certain tasks.

A player who enjoys fighting in the Battledome, the arena for play-fights between Neopets. Many people try out the Battledome, but this word is usually applied to more serious hobbyists who save up for good weapons and training.

Abbreviation for "Balthazar's Bag of Bottled Faeries". A wearable toy for your Neopet, awarded to those who had bought a series of hero- and villain-themed items.

(1) Abbreviation of "Beauty Contest". An art competition in which players must draw their own pets and then compete against other Neopets of the same species.
(2) The Neoboard where Beauty Contest entries can be shown off. (Advertising on any other Neoboard is against the rules.)

Abbreviation for "Battledome Chat". The Neoboard for all things Battledome-related.

(1) The Neopet most often used as a fighter in the Battledome, out of the pets a person owns.
(2) A Neopet whose Battledome stats are high, making him or her particularly suitable as a fighter.
