here were invented by the Neopets Team; others were created by players and have stuck

Abbreviation for "Treasure Keepers". Neopets' ill-fated attempt at creating a Facebook game.
Example Usage:
"I have to admit, I miss TK. It was a nice little timewaster."

TNT
[ti: en ti:] - noun
Abbreviation for "The Neopets Team". The Neopets Team oversee and run the Neopets site. This includes coding and planning new releases, such as plots, items and paint brush colours.
Example Usage:
"I love the new Eventide Draik. TNT did a great job!"

Token
['toʊkən] - noun
(1) The playing piece used to represent a player in a game of Key Quest. Rare tokens can be gained from real-life merchandise, bought in the NC Mall, or given out on special occasions.
(2) The Nostalgic pet style wearable item that allows Neopets to maintain an unconverted look.
Example Usage:
(1) "Wow, your token looks like a Christmas Bruce! It's so cute!"
(2) "I'm searching for a Faerie Lenny token."

Tourney
['tɜːniː] - noun
Abbreviation of the word "tournament". A gaming competition. A staff tourney is a competition between members of the Neopets Team.
Example Usage:
"Are you betting on Snarkie again for the staff tourney this year?"

Trainable
[trenəbəl] - adjective
When a Neopet's stats are all even, allowing them to take classes at one of the training schools. Pets with uneven stats cannot train.
Example Usage:
"My lab rat is no longer trainable thanks to all these crazy zaps!"

Transfer
['tɹænsfɜː] - verb, noun
(1) To send a Neopet to another player, using the system found behind the central door of the Neopian Pound.
(2) The act of sending a Neopet to another user in this way.
(3) The ability to send or receive a pet using the transfer system. Players are limited in the number of pet transfers they can start or accept per month (the number varies based on account age). A player who can send a maximum of three pets to others, and has already sent two this month, is said to have one transfer left.
Example Usage:
(1) "My daughter's quitting Neopets, so she decided to transfer her Hissi to me."
(2) "I wish he would hurry up and accept the transfer. It's been more than a day since I sent the pet!"
(3) "How many transfers do you have left this month? I've got the pet you were wanting to adopt, if you're ready to receive her."

Trinket
['tɹɪŋkɪt] - noun
An item that can be added to a Neopet's outfit, but is neither an item of clothing nor a background. Trinkets are often things that represent a pet's interests and hobbies.
Example Usage:
"My Mutant pet can't wear most items of clothing, but I got her a spooky-looking trinket to set off her appearance."

TT
[tiːtiː] - noun
(1) Ambiguous abbreviation for "Thyora's Tear". A Battledome item based on an ancient Neopian legend of a broken-hearted Neopet and a kindly Faerie.
(2) Ambiguous abbreviation for "Turned Tooth". A Battledome weapon, restockable from the Tyrannian Weapons shop, that is much stronger than most restockable weapons of a similar rarity.
Example Usage:
"Nobody really says TT anymore, because there are two good TT weapons!"

TTear
[tiːtiːə] - noun
Abbreviation for "Thyora's Tear". A Battledome item based on an ancient Neopian legend of a broken-hearted Neopet and a kindly Faerie.
Example Usage:
"Nothing tops a TTear when it comes to defence, but the price is more than enough to put off most people."

Turmy
['tɜːmiː] - noun
Abbreviation for "Turmaculus", the oversized Petpet that sleeps most of the day in Meridell, and can occasionally give out prizes if awoken. He can, however, also EAT Petpets, so beware.
Example Usage:
"Turmy's awake! Come and try your luck before he falls asleep again!"

UB
[juːbiː] - adjective, noun
Abbreviation for "unbuyable". Normally priced at 1,000,000 Neopoints or higher, and therefore unable to be sold in user shops.
Example Usage:
(1) "This medicine wouldn't normally be UB, but a lot of pets have been needing it recently."
(2) "Finding a UB in the Money Tree is every newbie's dream, but it doesn't happen often."

UC
[juːsiː] - adjective, noun
Abbreviation for "unconverted". Still drawn in the art style that was used for Neopets some years ago. Unlike the newer "converted" pets, unconverted pets cannot wear clothes (although they can use backgrounds and trinkets), nor can they show any emotion other than "happy". Unconverted pets can no longer be created.
Example Usage:
"My Pteri is UC, so unfortunately she can't wear that item."
"I'd like to have owned a UC, but some of the new designs that are coming out these days are cool too."

UFT
['juːɛftiː] - adjective
Abbreviation of "up for trade". Refers to an item or pet that the owner is hoping to swap. (Pets can only be traded for other pets.)
Example Usage:
"My Robot Ixi is UFT! I wonder if anyone will trade me one of my dream pets?"

Unconverted
[ʌnkɒn'vɜːtəd] - adjective
Still appearing as pets used to at an earlier time. Unlike the newer "converted" pets, unconverted pets cannot wear clothes (although they can use backgrounds and trinkets), nor can they show any emotion other than "happy". Unconverted pets can no longer be created.

User Lookup
['juːzəlʊkʌp] - noun
A player's profile on Neopets.com, showing their pets, shop, gallery, Neohome, any trophies or badges he or she has won, and a few important statistics. Some players like to add to their user lookups with text and graphics. Also sometimes seen as a single word "userlookup".
Example Usage:
"I'm trying out a new design for my user lookup. Will you tell me what you think?"

User Shop
['juːzə ʃɔp] - noun
A shop run by an ordinary player, not by the Neopets Team. These are the shops that can be searched with the Shop Wizard. Shops run by the Neopets Team are known as "main shops".
Example Usage:
"Before buying an item from the main Neopian shops, check it isn't cheaper in user shops. You could save yourself some money."

Username
['juːzənɛɪm] - noun
The name you use to log into the site, which is displayed at the top of every page. Unlike some websites, Neopets does not use your e-mail address as your username. Usernames can contain underscores, letters and numbers, but no spaces or punctuation marks.
Example Usage:
"I wish I'd picked a better username when I signed up. But telling the world I was a big Hannah Montana fan seemed important at the time..."

Vet
[vɛt] - noun
Abbreviation of "veteran". Someone who has been on Neopets for a long time and knows their way around.
Example Usage:
"I wrote an article on Neopian history, but I thought I'd ask some vets for their opinion before I send it to the Neopian Times."

Veteran
['vɛtəɹən] - noun
Someone who has played on Neopets for a long time, and knows all the site's tips and tricks. The length of time someone has been in Neopia is not always the same as their account age!
Example Usage:
"I've been around for nearly five years now, but I still don't really FEEL like a veteran yet..."

Viacom
['vaɪækɒm] - noun
A large media company that used to be Neopets' parent company. They are also responsible for popular TV brands such as MTV and Nickelodeon. However, since Year Sixteen, Neopets is no longer part of this group.

"The previous owner of Neopets, Inc. sold the company to Viacom in 2005."

Virtupets
['vɜːtjuːpɛts] - noun
(1) A company that provides many different services, with the aim of making money and doing research for the evil Dr. Sloth. Its products are known to include miniature Neopet figurines and electronic games.
(2) The space station that was built by Dr. Sloth as a base of operations, but liberated by the Space Faerie and her brave followers.
(3) The Altador Cup team based on the Space Station.
Example Usage:
(1) "Advert Attack tells the story of Dr. Sloth's efforts to make money through a Virtupets-brand video game."
(2) "Virtupets Neohome furniture tries to simulate the feel of the Space Station, wherever it's installed."
(3) "Are you supporting Virtupets again this year?"

VP
[viːpiː] - noun
Abbreviation for "Virtupets", referring specifically to the Yooyuball team the space station sends to Neopia each year for the Altador Cup.
Example Usage:
"I'm a total Sloth fangirl, so of course I play VP during the Cup!"

Warn
[wɔːn] - verb
To send an official message telling a user that they have broken a rule. Only members of the Neopets Team can do this. Warning a player is generally done for first offences or less serious rules, and does not stop a player from using the site normally, but players who are warned should still read up on the rules and try to figure out what they did wrong.
Example Usage:
"When I was a newbie I got warned for asking for people's phone numbers. I guess I should have read the rules a bit more carefully..."

Warning
['wɔːnɪŋ] - noun
An official message from the Neopets Team informing you that you have broken a rule. If you receive one of these, the Neopets Team have decided that you don't deserve a harsher punishment, but you're still advised to read up on the rules and be more careful -- if you do the same thing again multiple times, the moderators might not be so gentle.
Example Usage:
"I guess I shouldn't have made all those topics about my Beauty Contest entry on the Help Chat. I got a warning and they were all taken down."

Webmail
['wɛbmɛɪl] - noun
The email service that used to be provided to users who subscribed to Neopets Premium. When the Premium service was revamped, Webmail was discontinued, presumably due to lack of interest.
Example Usage:
"Now that Premium users no longer have Webmail, the special events they get appear on the Neopets site itself."

[zæptuːkɛɪ] - noun
Abbreviation for "Zapatron 2000". ("K" is often used to mean "thousand" on Neopets.) A Battledome weapon originating from a sponsor promotion.
Example Usage:
"Spending that kind of money on a weapon like the Zap2k seems a foolish move."

Zap4K
[zæpfɔːkɛɪ] - noun
Abbreviation for "Zapatron 4000". ("K" is often used as an abbreviation for "thousand" on Neopets.) A Battledome weapon available from a Rare Item Code.
Example Usage:
"I wouldn't bother wasting money on a Zap4k when there are cheaper options available."

[zɛddiːɛɪpiː] - noun
Abbreviation for "Zafara Double Agent Plushie". Can refer either to the toy itself, or the secret avatar obtained by owning it.
