Flash Map

[flæʃ mæp] - noun

An image of a Neopian country or city that was displayed using the Adobe Flash plug-in, as opposed to being a normal image file (such as JPEG or GIF). Most (but not all) Flash maps took advantage of this to include animation or some kind of mouse over effect. Adobe Flash was discontinued in January 2021, and TNT has been working on converting all Flash maps to newer web technologies.

Example Usage:

"Apparently, Flash maps are easier for the artists to alter when a new shop or game has to be added."
