Abbreviation of "Accept, Reject or Beat?" A question often asked by traders who have had offers of something other than Neopoints on their hard-to-sell lots.

Example Usage:

"I have an offer of a Peach Chia Pop and 100k on my Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie. A/R/B?"

An item sold in the Hidden Tower, the Faerie Queen's secret shop in Faerie City. All artifacts have the rarity index 200, and they cannot be bought in the regular shops.

The Almost Abandoned Attic, a shop only available to users who have been on the site for three years or more. It is run by a surprisingly chirpy Ghost Aisha.

Example Usage:

"I heard some people have managed to buy Draik Eggs from the Attic! Have you ever seen one in there?"

Auto

The price a seller will accept for their item immediately, without negotiation. Generally seen on the Trading Post, or boards advertising trades.

Example Usage:

"Selling my paint brush! 300k = auto!"

BFGBC

BFGBC

[] - noun

Abbreviation for "Black Friday Gift Box (Mystery) Capsule". This type of GBC is only available for purchase on Black Friday, and is different from the regular GBC as it gives out at least four Gift Boxes instead of the usual minimum of two.

Example Usage:

"I am looking to trade this item for a BFGBC. Not interested in a regular GBC, sorry."

Bid

[bɪd] - verb, noun

(1) To make an offer on a trade or auction lot.
(2) An offer made on a trade or auction lot by a player.

Example Usage:

(1) "I'm bidding on a Plushie Paint Brush at the Auction House! Wow, I'm so nervous I'm biting my nails!"
(2) "Awww, my bid wasn't the highest? Try again, I guess..."

['bɒrəvæn] - noun

A hot drink made with cocoa and asparagus extract. Also the nickname of Adam Powell, co-founder of Neopia.

Example Usage:

"I'll have a nice hot cup of borovan, please."

Buyable

Buyable

['baɪjebəl] - adjective

Normally priced at 999,999 Neopoints or under, meaning that this item can be sold in a user's shop. (Items costing more than this have to be sold through auctions and the Trading Post.) Prior to March 27, 2018 the buyable cap was set at 99,999 NP, defining buyable items as 99,999 NP or below.

Example Usage:

"The price for that morphing potion has been dropping quite fast. I wouldn't be surprised if it's buyable soon."

Cap

[kæp] - noun

Abbreviation of "mystery capsule". A package containing a random mixture of items from the NC Mall and generally used as currency when trading items.

Example Usage:

"Sure, I'll trade you this jacket, but you'll have to give me two caps in return."

Chia Pop

Chia Pop

['tʃiːə pɒp] - noun

A delicious frozen treat sold on Terror Mountain. Most of these are just food for your pet to eat, but the very rare "magical" sort will change the appearance of any Chia who eats it.

Example Usage:

"There's no Peach Paint Brush. To get a Chia that looks like a peach, you'd need a Chia Pop."

Collat

Collat

[kɒl'æt] - noun

Abbreviation for "collateral". Something (usually a sum of Neopoints) temporarily swapped for an item which is being lent to you. If for some reason you decide not to return the lent item, the lender is free to keep the collateral. This acts to discourage people from "borrowing" expensive items just to run off with them.

Example Usage:

"And she asked me for three times the item's worth in collat! To heck with that. I'm looking for another lender."

Abbreviation of "Smugglers' Cove". A shop on Krawk Island which is almost never stocked, and sells extremely rare items. They accept only Dubloons as payment.

Example Usage:

"I'd like to have a Super Attack Pea, but since it's a Cove item, it costs far too much."

Crash

Crash

[kɹæʃ] - verb

(1) Of an item's price: to suddenly and sharply become much cheaper.
(2) Of a particular company on the Stock Market: to suddenly lose value completely, making any shares that were bought worthless and causing investors to lose NP. This is very, very rare.

Example Usage:

(1) "The price of that paintbrush crashed dramatically after it was given out at the Advent Calendar."
(2) "I wonder if they'll be adding a new company to the Stock Market to replace the one that crashed?"

To remove an item you don't want from your possession, making it vanish completely.

Example Usage:

"Since the old boots you get from fishing are no use to anyone, it's better manners to discard them rather than donating them."

To remove an item you don't want from your possession, and send it to the Money Tree or the Second-Hand Shoppe in Neopia Central, where anyone there can take it for their own.

The currency used on Krawk Island. Large, heavy metal coins.

An integral part of Neopian society. This rather smelly substance is used for all kinds of things, including furniture, weapons, petpets and even food items.

Abbreviation for "Elite Boutique". A subsection of the NC Mall that can only be accessed by older users. All the items sold there are no-trade.

['ɛstɪmɛɪtəd 'væljuː] - noun

A Neopoint price that is listed in the window that pops up when you click on an item. This number is used when releasing items into the computer-controlled Neopian shops and has nothing to do with what an item is actually worth in the Neopian economy.

Not to be confused with the "Est. Price" of an item in Jellyneo's Item Database, which is based on what users are charging for an item.

Example Usage:

"When I was a newbie, I put a Raspberry Jelly in my shop for 3000 NP because that was its Estimated Value. And I wondered why no-one was buying it..."

Abbreviation of "easy to sell". An item that is generally in high demand, such as a codestone.

Example Usage:

"I'd prefer you to offer Neopoints on my trade, but I'm happy to take ETS items if that's easier."

Abbreviation for "Fun Auction", which is an auction that is, you guessed it, for fun! This means the auction is not necessarily designed for the owner to make the greatest profit. Often times the starting bid and the minimum increment will be low.

Asking the other sellers of a rare item to raise their prices, despite supply and demand staying the same, so you can all make more NP from the sale. This is against the rules and will be punished if caught.

Example Usage:

"Don't buy that Eau d'Esophagor for 150k! It's false inflation. Really it's only worth about 10k."

Abbreviation for "Future Fashions". A shop in the NC Mall that can be accessed by those who have spent at least 10,000 NC during the previous month.

(Note: FF may also occasionally be used as an abbreviation for the well-known Internet browser Firefox.)

Example Usage:

"That pair of sandals they're showing off in FF is seriously ugly. Does it look any better on your pet?"

Abbreviation of "Faerie Quest (Fortune) Cookie". An item from the NC Mall that guarantees that you will receive a Faerie Quest every day for nine days.

(2) "Have you picked up your freebies this month yet?"
