Two-Factor Authentication
For extra, extra, extra security, you can enable 2-factor authentication on your NeoPass account. This is by far the best way to secure your Neopets account(s)!
Set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
To start, find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section of the settings page.
Clicking the "Enable 2FA" button will open a pop-up prompting you to re-log in to NeoPass.
After doing so, you will be taken through a three step process.
Step 1: Get an Authenticator App
If you don't already have one, you must download an authenticator app.
We recommend the following authenticator/code generation apps:
Step 2: Set up the Authenticator App with NeoPass
NeoPass will show a QR code on screen, which you can scan with your authenticator app. If you are having trouble scanning, your app will have a place you can enter the "Manual Setup Key" shown above the QR code instead.
After doing so successfully, you will be given a 6-digit code from your app, which you will then enter into NeoPass below the QR code.
If you have any trouble completing this, you may need to reach out to support from your authenticator app of choice.
Step 3: Success!
Not really a step, but it is the final part of the pop-up. Congrats, your account is now extra, extra, extra secure!
Upon returning to the settings page, it will now reflect your 2FA is enabled.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
You can disable your 2FA from the settings page in a similar way as enabling it. If you wish to enable it again, you will need to restart the whole process; while you can use the same authenticator app, you cannot use the same QR setup code.
Reset Two-Factor Authentication
If you lost access to your 2FA method and cannot log in, you can have it removed from your account, but not on your own. Instead, you must contact NeoPass support, who will separately verify your identity before disabling 2FA on your NeoPass account.
Emergency Codes
NeoPass 2FA does not offer emergency codes. You will need to contact NeoPass support using the link above.
