The NC Mall was officially launched to the public on July 16, 2007 after a brief Beta testing period. As is customary with many special events, that means its "birthday" is celebrated annually to commemorate the anniversary. The annual offerings available in July have evolved slightly over the years, but typically include an element of some freebie items as well as limited-edition purchasable items, which are available in the Birthday Shop.
Current Year - 2023
For the Mall's sweet 16, on July 5, 2023, we saw the release of the first of three free special cakes. A freebie cake will be released once a week for 3 weeks.

Days after the first cake, the annual Mystery Capsule was added to the mall - available in bundles once again, with the 10-bundle tying last year's as the best value to date.

The first Wish Candle for the 16th birthday was released on July 13th. A candle will be released once a week for two weeks.

The Mall's 15th Birthday celebration kicked off on July 6, 2022, with the release of the first of three free special cakes. A freebie cake was released once a week for 3 weeks.

2014
The annual freebies for the Mall's 7th birthday celebration switched from gift bags to confectionary treats. A cake slice was available once a week for 3 weeks, and each awarded a stat increase to a pet when eaten in addition to awarding a wearable item.

2011
Two new goodie bags containing freebies were released for the Mall's birthday in 2011.
And again, two mystery capsules were released.
A new celebration component, Wish Candles, was introduced in lieu of the grams. A candle was released once a week.
2010
For the third birthday, we saw three goodie bags released. In addition to the normal two, the additional free Goodie Bag was available in the Elite Boutique Mall shop, which is only available to accounts aged 49 months and older.
For the 3rd birthday we again saw two new mystery capsules.
For the only time, a pair of Birthday Grams, which function like Sweetheart Grams where you can gift items without needing a Gift Box, were included to party harder.
2009
Because two is twice the fun, to celebrate the Mall's second birthday, two freebie goodie bags were available.
This year, the selection expanded and two new mystery capsules were released.
2008
To celebrate the first whole year of the NC Mall, a free goodie bag was dropped.
The same day, a special anniversary mystery capsule was also released.
