NC Mall Sales

From time to time, the Neocash Mall will offer a sale of some type, allowing certain items to be purchased for a reduced amount of NC.

Black Friday Sales

Starting in 2011, TNT has offered some kind of sale on Gift Box Mystery Capsules (GBCs) on "Black Friday," which is the day after the fourth Thursday of November (this is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States). In the beginning, this sale was simply a discount. Starting in 2020, however, special GBCs with boosted abilities were offered on this day. Boosted boxes actually have different ID numbers, so we've included them here to hopefully avoid any confusion for users.

Starting in 2020, the Black Friday sale also included a discount on a selection of Fortune Cookies.

2023

The 2023 Black Friday sale started on Monday, November 20th and lasted through the end of the day on Tuesday, November 28th. There were two phases to the sale, with both phases overlapping on Friday the 24th.

The first phase lasted from the 20th through Friday the 24th, with seasonal Mystery Capsules on sale for 75 NC (50% off). Note that each of these are a better deal than any bundles available, which remained at full price.

The second phase lasted from Friday the 24th through Tuesday the 28th, with sales on both GBCs and Fortune Cookies.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC (50% off) for the entire duration of the second phase. GBCs sold during this phase have a higher chance of granting extra boxes (up to 6). GBCs sold the rest of the sale have the standard chance of 2-4 boxes. (Originally, only GBCs sold on November 24th would provide extra boxes, but due to reliability issues with the NC Mall TNT decided to extend their sale for the entire second phase.)

In addition, a selection of Fortune Cookies was also on sale for the second phase of the event.

2022

The 2022 Black Friday sale started on Monday, November 21st and lasted through the end of the day on Tuesday, November 29th. There were two phases to the sale, with both phases overlapping on Friday the 25th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC (50% off) for the entire duration of the sale. GBCs sold on November 26th have a higher chance of granting extra boxes (up to 6). GBCs sold the rest of the weekend have the standard chance of 2-4 boxes. In addition to having different ID numbers, the Black Friday version has a slightly different description than the version sold on other days.

In addition, a selection of Fortune Cookies was also on sale for the duration of the event.

2020

The 2020 Black Friday sale started on November 27th and lasted through the end of the day on Sunday, November 30th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC (50% off) for the entire duration of the sale. GBCs sold on November 27th have a higher chance of granting extra boxes (up to 6). GBCs sold the rest of the weekend have the standard chance of 2-4 boxes. Note that the only difference between GBCs sold on Black Friday and those sold on other days is the ID number. They are otherwise identical.

In addition, a selection of Fortune Cookies was also on sale for the duration of the event.

2019

The 2019 Black Friday sale occurred on November 29th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) from 12:00am to 12:00pm NST. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) from 12:00pm to 11:59pm NST.

2018

The 2018 Black Friday sale started on November 23rd and lasted through the end of the day on Saturday, November 24th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) on Friday the 23rd. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) on Saturday the 24th.

2017

The 2017 Black Friday sale occurred on November 24th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) from 12:00am to 12:00pm NST. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) from 12:00pm to 11:59pm NST.

2016

The 2016 Black Friday sale occurred on November 25th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) from 12:00am to 12:00pm NST. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) from 12:00pm to 11:59pm NST.

2015

The 2015 Black Friday sale occurred on November 27th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) from 12:00am to 12:00pm NST. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) from 12:00pm to 11:59pm NST.

2014

The 2014 Black Friday sale occurred on November 28th.

GBCs were on sale for 100 NC per GBC (50% off) from 12:00am to 12:00pm NST. They were then on sale for 150 NC per GBC (25% off) from 12:00pm to 11:59pm NST.

Spring Cleaning Sales

At the end of April every year since 2012, some of the GBCs released in the previous calendar year are added back for sale in the NC Mall at reduced prices. These sales last for only one weekend.

There is no clear pattern to which 5 of the previous year's capsules get re-released for the sale. Perhaps it is just the favorites of whichever staff member is in charge of the sale that year!

2023

On Saturday, April 22nd, each of the below capsules were available for 75 NC (62.5% off). On Sunday, April 23rd, they were available for 100 NC (50% off). The April 2023 GBC, Dolled Up Uni Gift Box Mystery Capsule, remained on sale at full price during this time.

2022

On Saturday, April 23rd, each of the below capsules were available for 75 NC (62.5% off). On Sunday, April 24th, they were available for 100 NC (50% off). This is a larger discount than previous years, perhaps because GBCs became always-available in March 2022. The April 2022 GBC, Smorgasbord Gift Box Mystery Capsule, remained on sale at full price during this time.

2021

On Saturday, April 24th, each of the below capsules were available for 100 NC (50% off). On Sunday, April 25th, they were available for 150 NC (25% off).

2020

On Saturday, April 25th, each of the below capsules were available for 100 NC (50% off). On Sunday, April 26th, they were available for 150 NC (25% off).

2019

While there was a sale in the NC Mall on Saturday, April 30th, and Sunday, May 1st, it was not exclusively on GBCs, and older items were not re-released for the sale.

January Weekend Sales

Starting in 2012, TNT has hosted 50% off sales in specific shops of the NC Mall for three consecutive weekends in January. Starting in 2015, these sales also included exclusive items, also at the discounted price.

Starting in 2021, these sales started on Fridays and lasted through the following Monday. In 2020 and earlier, the sales started on Friday and lasted through Sunday.

2023

The 2023 weekend sales were announced in the New Features dated January 13th, but only the dates and theme of the first weekend was mentioned.

On January 13th through 16th, the below exclusive new clothing items were available. These new items and all items in the "Clothing" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time. The NC Collectible of the month, Seradars Collectible Cloak, was included in this sale.

On January 20th through 23rd, the below exclusive new accessories items were available. These new items and all items in the "Accessories" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

On January 27th through 30th, the below exclusive new backgrounds/trinkets items were available. These new items and all items in the "Backgrounds" shop and the "Trinkets" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

One non-exclusive trinket was released just a couple days before the sale went live, and was inadvertently not included in the weekend sale. To make up for this, the item went on sale from January 31 through February 3, and anyone who purchased at full price during the original sales period was reimbursed for the difference. This change was announced in the New Features dated February 1.

2022

The dates and themes of the 2022 weekends were announced in the New Features dated January 8th.

Due a delay in art ahead of the first weekend, MissRainbow announced on a thread on the NC Mall neoboard that they decided to ditch the themes for the exclusive items, and instead release one of each type every weekend. However, the NC Mall shop sale themes proceeded as normal.

On January 14th through 17th, three exclusive items were available: one clothing, one accessory, and one background. These new items and all items in the "Clothing" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time. The NC Collectible of the month, Super Happy Icy Fun Collectors Onesie, was included in this sale, although it was not discounted for the first several hours.

On January 21st through 24th, three exclusive new items (one clothing, one accessory/trinket, and one background) were available. These new items and all items in the "Accessories" shop and the "Trinkets" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

On January 28th through 31st, three exclusive new items (one clothing, one accessory/trinket, and one background) were available. These new items and all items in the "Backgrounds" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

2021

The dates and themes of the 2021 weekends were announced in the New Features dated January 7.

2018

On January 12th through 14th, the below exclusive new background items were available. These new items and all items in the "Backgrounds" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

On January 19th through 21th, the below exclusive new accessories/trinkets were available. These new items and all items in the "Accessories" shop and the "Trinkets" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

On January 26th through 28th, the below exclusive new clothing items were available. These new items and all items in the "Clothing" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

This was the first year that both accessories and trinkets went on sale during the same weekend.

2015

This was the first year that the January weekend sales included exclusive items. Unlike future years, some exclusive items were released throughout each weekend rather than all at the beginning.

On January 16th through 18th, the below exclusive new background items were available. These new items and all items in the "Backgrounds" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time.

On January 23rd through 25th, the below exclusive new accessories were available. These new items and all items in the "Accessories" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time. Due to a period of unplanned site downtime during this weekend, the sale was run again the following weekend alongside the clothing sale.

On January 30th through February 2nd, the below exclusive new clothing items were available. These new items and all items in the "Clothing" shop were available for 50% off their normal price during this time. This was the first time that clothing was included in the weekend sales. This weekend's sale lasted one extra day due to planned downtime on Sunday, February 1.

2014

On January 10th through 12th, all items in the "Backgrounds" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

On January 17th through 19th, all items in the "Trinkets" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

On January 24th through 26th, all items in the "Accessories" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

2013

On January 11th through 13th, all items in the "Backgrounds" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

On January 18th through 20th, all items in the "Trinkets" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

On January 25th through 27th, all items in the "Accessories" shop were available for 50% off their normal price.

2012

Faerie Quest Event

Since 2014, Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies have gone on sale for 50 NC for the duration of Faerie Quest Event. The event occurs at a slightly different time each year, usually in the spring.

Other Sales

On rare occasions, TNT will have a one-off sale as part of an event, or for no obvious reason at all. If there are any we are missing, please let us know.

Pet Slots

From November 15th through 22nd, 2022, buyable pet slots of all sizes were on sale for 20% off to celebrate the 23rd birthday of Neopets.

From December 20th to 26th, 2021, to celebrate the release of buyable pet slots, the +10 Extra Pet Slots was sold with an introductory discount price of 3,400 NC (20% off).

GBCs

From February 16th to 28th, 2021, the Mosaic Hearts Gift Box Mystery Capsule was on sale for 100 NC (50% off). This was the entire time it was in the Mall, so it was never sold for "full price" of 200 NC.

From September 27th to 30th, 2018, the Stormy Skies Gift Box Mystery Capsule was on sale for 100 NC (50% off). From its release on September 21st until September 27th, it had been on sale for the "full price" of 200 NC.

On July 13th, 2013, the NC Mall 6th Birthday Gift Box Mystery Capsule was on sale for 100 NC (50% off). The next day, it was on sale for 150 NC (25% off). It was then available at its regular price of 200 NC through the end of the month.

Fortune Cookies

On January 29th, 2015, Festive Sounds NC Fortune Cookie was on sale for 125 NC (50% off). The item was retired once it was sold out later that day.

Every Saturday and Sunday from May 3rd to 26th, 2014, Games Fortune Cookie was on sale for 100 NC (~43% off) to celebrate Scores Galore weekends, an event where the daily Flash games limit was increased from 3 plays to 5 plays.

On April 11th to 13th, 2014, item-granting fortune cookies were on sale for 50% off. Some of these were retired at the conclusion of the weekend.

On September 17th to 23rd, 2013, Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie was on sale for 50 NC (50% off) to celebrate new rewards for Delina's Quests.

On August 15th, 2013, Illusionist NC Fortune Cookie was on sale for 125 NC (50% off). The item was retired once it was sold out later that day (though re-added briefly for the April 2014 sale).

On July 29th to August 5th, 2013, Games Fortune Cookie was sold at a discount to celebrate the start of Daily Dare 2013.

On October 17th, 2012, Delightable NC Fortune Cookie was on sale for 125 NC (50% off). The item was retired once it was sold out the next day (though re-added briefly for the April 2014 sale).

Super Sale Shop

In August 2009, the NC Mall introduced a "Super Sale" shop, where all items in the shop were available for 50% off their normal price. (Technically, it still houses this shop, but it has been empty since late 2014.) The shop was usually empty, but TNT would add items to it intermittently for limited times. Items in the shop would usually be retired once the sale was over. Below is a list of known sales in this shop, along with links to the items in the sale, if known.

NC Mall Beta Launch

Back in July 2007, when the NC Mall first launched with an open beta test, the New Features announced an introductory sale. It is no longer known which items were available and at what prices.
