On May 20, 2020, Neopets announced that Legends & Letters would be discontinued, and the app was removed from app stores on July 22, 2020. At that time, the app was still playable if you had already had it downloaded to your device but is no longer available if you don't already have it.
The servers powering the game were slated to shut down on December 31, 2020 and end game play, but were not shut off until September 2022.
Neopet Leader Stats
The Neopet you select at the start of the game is your in-game avatar, but also a member of the party you send into battles. It is not possible to swap your Neopet out of the party for another character, but Neopet Leaders tend to have relatively high stats and their special attacks have additional effects, so taking them along is worth it.
If you buy a Neopet Leader Token from the app's Gem Store, you will have a second Neopet to choose from. All Neopet Leaders are 6 Star characters, meaning they are classed as Legendary cards and can be leveled up to the current maximum in the game. They are currently the only 6 Star characters available.
Acara
Acaras are a playful bunch that love to live by the sea. Their favourite pastimes are diving for hidden treasure off the coastline and playing on the beach.
