On May 20, 2020, Neopets announced that Legends & Letters would be discontinued, and the app was removed from app stores on July 22, 2020. At that time, the app was still playable if you had already had it downloaded to your device but is no longer available if you don't already have it.
The servers powering the game were slated to shut down on December 31, 2020 and end game play, but were not shut off until September 2022.
Introduction
Legends and Letters was a mobile app available for download on iOS and Android devices. It was soft launched on January 17, 2019 (with a full release on February 28, 2019), and it followed the adventures of Aurrick, who accidentally (or some may say, foolishly) released The Claymaker into Neopia. Your job was to team up with Aurrick to help defeat the Claymaker and restore order to Neopia.
The game was initially teased at Comic-Con 2018. On May 20, 2020, TNT announced in the New Features that the game was to be discontinued. The game was pulled from mobile app stores on July 22, 2020, and support for the app officially ended. The app was scheduled to become unplayable on December 31, 2020, although it remained playable for those who already had it downloaded for several months afterward.
On July 15, 2020, TNT sent the email below detailing the app's end of life, including a promise of an exclusive prize on the Neopets site:
Hello Neopians,
Firstly, we'd like to thank you for playing and supporting Legends & Letters over the past couple of years. We hope you've enjoyed playing the game!
We're writing to let you know that on July 22, 2020, the Legends & Letters mobile game will be removed from the Google Play and iOS app stores. If you have the app downloaded on your device after that date, you'll be able to continue playing Legends & Letters until December 31, 2020.
As a thank you for playing the game, we'll be sending an exclusive Legends & Letters themed item to your Neopets.com account in the future, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Q: Can I still play the game?
A: If you still have the app on your device after July 22, you'll be able to continue playing through game levels and earning in-game rewards until the end of the year.
Q: Will there still be monthly events?
A: Legends & Letters will no longer be holding monthly events for the Crossover Challenge, and you will no longer be able to receive rewards from the game on Neopets.com. However, the weekly events in-game will still be running.
Q: Will I still be able to make in-app purchases?
A: On July 22, all in-game purchases will be obtainable for free, allowing you to progress through the game freely.
Q: Can I still get technical support for the game?
A: Support for Legends & Letters will end on July 22. After that date, bug fixes and technical support will no longer be provided for the game.
Q: How long will the game be playable?
A: On December 31, 2020, Legends & Letters will be shutting down permanently and you will no longer be able to play.

Game Overview
The game is a combination of classic Scrabble and a card building game. You will head into battle across Neopia with various heroes and your Neopet leader.

Before joining up with Aurrick, you will select a Neopet Leader from one of 11 available species of Neopets. You will level up your leader over time to become quite powerful, and you can also assist your friends with your leader in their own battles!
As you progress, you will earn more cards and coins, which you can use to level up your team leader or any other heroes you wish to take along with you.
