The inaugural edition of the Festival of Fears began on October 23, 2025. The main attraction continues to be trick-or-treating, as in prior years, but with a new Festival hub and some updates to various activities around the Haunted Woods.
Daily Trick-or-Treating
For each day of the Festival, Reginald will provide you with a clue as to the whereabouts of a new trick-or-treat goodie bag. Unlike in prior years, where all bags went live at once, this year, only one will be available each day. If you begin late, all previous days' bags may be collected when you start. You have until end-of-day on October 31, 2025 to collect all of the bags.
Once you find the bag, head back to the Festival hub, check the "Goodie Bags" tab, and you'll have the opportunity to answer a trivia question for each bag you find. Your bag image should be filled in, and the story and trivia options immediately below it. We've received a few reports of users not having this work properly; if this is the case for you, we recommend submitting a ticket.
Bag 1: October 23rd
Clue: One may shiver to reach their goal, but many rewards await those who do!
Location: Snow Faerie Quests
Possible trivia questions, and their answers:

Bag 2: October 24th
Clue: Best place in the centre of town to prepare for a brawl.

Bag 3: October 25th
Clue: Those who sew together stay together, even through the darkest of times.

- What did Ilere's pupil do that made her happy? Laugh
- What did Ilere do to be closer to her pupil? Turn into a Meowclops

Story mix up! When this bag was released on October 25th and until it was fixed sometime on October 28th, the story and trivia questions shown were Sophie's instead, as shown below for bag 4.
Bag 4: October 26th
Clue: The snuggliest creepy crawlers you'll ever meet!

Bag 5: October 27th
Clue: Incredibly aged ingredients at your earliest convenience.
Location: Tyrannian Foods

- What is one of the theories on why the Lair Beast never leaves? It's protecting something
- Who wrote the note? Unknown
- What is the first line of the note? It's real!!
- How did the writer of the note get close to the Lair Beast? It was sleeping
Bag 6: October 28th
Clue: Careful, if you interrupt his meal, he'll have the last laugh.

Clue: Even the brightest of minds would be nothing without a scholarly place such as this.

Trivia Prizes
For answering the daily trivia question, you'll receive one of the following items. According to the FAQ, your prize will not be repeated with any prior items you received.
For reading all seven stories, you will receive the below avatar if you did not already receive it in a prior year. You must click to read all the stories! Only collecting the bags will not award the avatar.
Trick or Treat / Guide
Collect all 7 Trick-or-Treat bags by October 31st from either the 2023 or 2024 event, or read all stories from the 7 Trick-or-Treat bags by October 31st during the 2025 Festival of Fears.

Festival Activities
During the Festival, certain Haunted Woods activities have been updated with bonuses.
Apple Bobbing
Apple Bobbing is awarding an item each time you play.
This avatar isn't new, but since it requires obtaining a particular item from Bart, it is essentially boosted during the Festival:
Imposter Apple / Guide
Randomly awarded when obtaining an Imposter Apple while Apple Bobbing. Also awarded if you lose an Imposter Apple while bobbing.

After the Festival ends, the other possible outcomes will return as usual.

Brain Tree Quests
The Brain Tree is offering new prizes in addition to his old ones. Don't forget, you must complete two Esophagor quests to answer the Brain Tree. He doesn't take guesses!

Edna's Quests
Edna is asking for three items for every quest you begin with her—notable, since receiving her avatar requires completing a quest for three ingredients! Additionally, she's currently rewarding Spooky Foods through r85 instead of at her usual rarity range—this is especially helpful in getting additional items for Esophagor quests!

Edna - Cackle! / Guide
Randomly awarded when you complete an Edna Quest that asks for three items.
When activated, the 2019 Charity Corner perk, Avatar Goldmine, increased the chances of obtaining this avatar.
Released: October 28, 2003
After the Festival ends, Edna will go back to asking for 1-3 items, but her new range of prizes will remain.

Esophagor Quests
The Esophagor is offering a new avatar if you complete enough of his quests. (Quests completed for Brain Tree answers will count.)
After the Festival ends, the Esophagor will no longer award this new avatar—however it will return with next year's Festival. (The avatar being limited to the Festival was not confirmed by TNT until October 29th.)

Grave Danger
Petpets sent to Grave Danger will return sooner than usual, four hours or less. As with any other time of year, Spooky Petpets and aged petpets will return sooner than non-Spooky and younger petpets. The return time is a reduction of the normal times (1 to 7 hours).
After the Festival ends, the wait times for Grave Danger will go back to normal.
