Varia's Daily Prizes
In this year's festival, Varia from Faerie Fragments will appear in and out on the sides of the Faerie Festival hub and award one prize per day when clicking on the Shoyru. This portion of the festival will run from September 30th through October 13th, with the first 1.5 days counting as one, running through October 1st.

September 30 — October 1
My name is Varia! I used to be the quartermaster in Queen Fyora's castle. Now I live in New Faerieland and run my own General Store. I'm here to help Queen Fyora put together all the different kinds of decorations, prizes, and the like for the festival, but I've also got a few unique items to give out myself! I also thought this would be a great way to tell Neopians all about New Faerieland and our amazing mayor, Luxinia. So stop by each day for a cool prize, and to learn more about what's been going on up in the sky!

October 2
Luxinia is the mayor of New Faerieland (and my best friend!). I found her encased in a mysterious crystal that was floating on an unknown surviving piece of Faerieland in the sky! Queen Fyora helped free her from the crystal, but upon waking up, Luxinia recalled nothing about her past life except her name. She may not have all her memories, but she is working hard to bring life back to the island—all while trying to remember her own.

October 3
Have you heard of the Gift of Calabrus? It's an ancient artefact that creates floating land. It's actually how the first faeries made Faerieland! Luxinia has it up in New Faerieland now and is slowly but surely making new land for everyone to join us up in the sky! It may not be quite the size of the original Faerieland, but maybe one day!

October 4
The Gift of Calabrus is so old that it practically predates Faerieland (even Queen Fyora barely recalls it). It is said that long ago, a powerful being known as Calabrus lived in the sky, and her emotions determined the weather. But she was lonely, so she gave the very first ruler of Faerieland a gift to create a home with her, among the clouds. However, this is all just faerielore, so who knows what is true. But either way, the artefact was lost to time for aeons, until it mysteriously appeared in New Faerieland! We're not sure how it got here, but we sure are thankful for it!

October 5
One of our good friends who lives up in New Faerieland is Tia. She's a seamstress whose passion is to recycle unwanted clothes into brand-new fashion statements! Since she gets most of her supplies from donations, she's set up a thrift shop to resell what she makes for cheap, so everyone can afford to wear what they love! A fun fact about Tia is that when she's not working on a new project, she's volunteering at all sorts of places. Just this month alone, she's volunteered at the soup kitchen, a nursing home, a youth art camp, and multiple petpet shelters!

October 6
Jorett is a chef who has travelled all around Neopia, working in some of the top kitchens in every land. Now he's moved to New Faerieland to put all he's learned to the test by starting up his very own restaurant! He's the sweetest guy around, but he will lick everything he can get his hands on to see if it would make for a good ingredient. A fun fact about Jorett is that he is quite the nature lover! Just name an activity that requires being outdoors, and he's there. Fishing, hiking, bird watching—he's already got the equipment and knows the best place to go!

October 7
Nephrite used to work at the Faerieland castle as a records keeper, but they moved to the island to help study the peculiar goings-on in New Faerieland. Their special interest is reading and learning all they can, so don't be surprised if they're nose down in a book one minute and then telling you about the migration patterns of Woowoos in the next! A fun fact about Nephrite is that while they have a calm demeanour, they have the soul of a rock and roller! They love pretty much any genre of music, but Sticks N Stones is the band that first started their passion, so rock holds a special place in their heart.

October 8
There aren't many records of Luxinia before she was found encased in crystal. But we do know she used to work at the Faerieland Employment Agency; she thinks it must have been because of her love for helping those around her find what they love to do! Before that time, we believe she went to the Faerieland Magic Academy, but those records were pretty much destroyed...
Maybe we should start up a school in New Faerieland? Here, take this for your studies.
October 9
Besides Tia, who Luxinia helped get a job, not many Neopians recall much about Luxinia. There were a few who remembered her in general, but couldn't describe anything in detail. Even those who were supposedly in her class at the Faerieland Magic Academy couldn't say much about their time with her. Though to be fair, we couldn't find proof she was there for long, let alone graduated. It's as if Luxinia's memories weren't the only ones altered...

October 10
Seeing how it would have been noted in the Faerieland records, we assume that Luxinia's unique tactile empathy power came to be only after having been encased in the mysterious crystal for so long. Luxinia has yet to fully master her ability, but because she's had practice with it using the strange items left around New Faerieland, she's got enough control over her power for Queen Fyora to send her on an important mission!
I'm really missing her while she's out there, possibly saving the world! But, hey, take this so she's always in our hearts!
October 11
Luxinia's tactile empathy power is unique to her and allows her to enter both the memories of people and of objects that are tied to strong emotions. While she can't alter history with this power, she can explore and interact with the memories in a way that seems to bring peace to those connected by them. However, emotions are a fickle thing. Where one action could bring peace, another could bring sorrow, so she's now fairly hesitant to go too deep into the subconscious, unless absolutely necessary.
I wish I had a cool power to grant you, but hopefully you'll still like this!
October 12
Sadly, due to the many years Luxinia and her home were left floating all alone, many of the items on the island were destroyed due to time, corrosion, and a rainblug infestation. However, of the few remaining items left that hinted at Luxinia's past, we were able to ascertain that she was close with someone only addressed by X. Nephrite is doing their best to research all that we have found.

October 13
Although I sure am glad it happened, I'm to this day wondering how I randomly came upon Luxinia and the last remaining piece of floating Faeireland. It was like something in my heart told me to fly higher that day and brought me right to her... We tried looking into whether I was affected by a spell, but came up empty. Which was strange in and of itself, because it showed no magic affected me that day, which, working in Faerieland, is just impossible. Whatever happened, though, I am thankful to have found her up there!
If you ever want to visit New Faerieland for yourself, just look for a Giant Walein in the sky.
