Hello, I noticed the Water Skree has a transparent background, instead of white. It makes it look odd on my pet's lookup, which I coded to have a dark grey background. Any chance the Water Skree's icon could be fixed to have a white background like normal? This also affects the Water Greeble. Thanks! ~nightmare

Hi, Splunkin here. Long time reader first time submission. I am gay and love the new pretties released in the NC mall! However, I was wondering if there is a possibility to release more masculine items more often for pets who identify as masculine. Armor pieces, a nice fall button up and casual clothes, more variety of wigs, Warlock items, maybe some stealthy looking clothes (No reason stealthies should have all the fun!) Occupational/hobby clothes would be awesome as well! I made a board on the NC chat and many agreed, we would love more masculine options for our little homies to express themselves. (: Thank you for the work you have all been putting into the site, would love to see more representation for pets who identify as male or more masculine. Hope you have a great road map roll out and I'm excited to see the changes to come! ~skootrocity

To help with future Neopian Times submissions we have laid out some rules that we will be going by from now on:
To avoid confusion, users will no longer receive messages if their entries are being held.
Entries will be cleared out after each edition. So if your submission was not accepted in the most recent NT, you can try revising and resubmitting for the next issue!
Entries can be submitted by up to 3 collaborators, however, going forward, any entries with collaborators must include a comment providing details explaining which part of the submission each person worked on.
Please keep in mind that continued comics or shorts are not always guaranteed to be in the next edition, as they can be spread out based on which types of issues we have as well as the quality of the submission. Just because the first part was accepted, does not mean the second part will be in the next edition. If you don’t see it published in the most recent edition, you can always revise and resubmit!
Entries will no longer be edited after publication unless there are major input errors.

Hi TNT! *tosses edible cookie dough - no really, it's delicious!* I was discussing the "no romance" rule with a friend recently, and we were both a pretty confused with how it's worded in the official rules vs. in editorials. The rules only say no "sexual content", which is an entirely separate concept from romance (see: asexuality, which we're allowed to mention now!). Just the concept of people dating/being married/having romantic relationships is child-friendly, and kids see it happen in the real world all the time. Under the wording in the official rules, it looks like I could mention two pets/characters as "dating" (or "married", or "together") without any issue, but I know from past editorials that this isn't true at all! Could you either update the wording in the rules to make it clearer, or change the policy to allow casual and chaste mentions of romance with no sexual content? This is a tough one! You can, of course, mention if your pet is married, dating or in a relationship. However, you couldn't go into details about that relationship in detail or be out looking for a relationship with other pets. ~~Kikocat

Hi, 2022's Advent Calendar gave us few nice battledome items. Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife dealing 15 icons and blocking 75% earth (It would've been cool if it was 100% blocker or reflected) and Feeling Better Soup, Once per Battle item that heals 50% and fully blocks air, making it unique 50% healer. To be honest, when i got this, i though it was food item and not battledome item. Soup's item description is bit confusing since it says This One Use Item was given out by the Advent Calendar in Y24 When others that have used in battle says it's once per battle item. I hope item description gets fixed, saying This once per Battle item was given out by the Advent Calendar in Y24. Please don't make it one use... Anyway, Happy New Year to all TNT workers. As for the Feel Better Soup, you are correct that this weapon was intended to be once per battle, and our team can definitely see how the item description is causing confusion. Hi, TNT! I have a question for Kikocat, if possible. Each time a new art gallery gets posted, I see several artists posting beautiful pieces on social media that they submitted but that was not chosen. It just breaks my heart to see all that effort not recognized on site! Could we possibly have bigger art galleries, like, two pages at least for each special day? Adding more paint brushes to the economy would help with the ongoing inflation, too. Thank you for considering this request. ~swordlilly
Hi, kikocat here! I can try to do two pages for each gallery when we do get more entries. The system makes me have 12 entries on a page before I can submit it to the site so some days we don't have enough for the 24 slots but if we do have that many then of course!! TNT! What a wonderful advent calendar, it kept me exciting and coming back daily, I had SO much fun. And you finished it off in the perfect way- a new exciting site theme! We did use to have a General Chat board but it became a very huge problem for the community and was filled with spam and offsite/real world topics and did end up being removed due to that. Neopets, as a family-friendly website, does not allow inappropriate content, including in the names of your Neopets. However, there has not been a clear-cut answer on how appropriate a name may be - as there's more gray area there than the Grey Faerie! My question is, if a name is accepted and made into a lovely Neopet, but later turns out to include or allude to an inappropriate or hateful topic, is there a solution to this besides abandoning the pet, giving an unsavory user the opportunity to stealthily reveal they are bullying/hateful/doing something not family-friendly? ~Anonymous

Another wonderful question! Grundos do in fact have tacky skin that can feel slightly sticky to the touch. However, some Grundos in particular, such as Marshmallow Grundos and the Spider Grundo, are especially glutinous! ~~Aesop

Happy holidays! I have a quick question about rules. I tried searching in past editorials and couldn't find anything on it. I see people bumping their own trade boards and as an act of kindness I think it would be nice to help them bump their own boards sometimes by saying "Good luck trading" or "Best wishes trading" this way to get help keeping their board up and I'm sending good wishes their way. Is this allowed or against the rules? Please remove my username :) ~Anonymous
That is perfectly fine to do that UNLESS you have a link to your CC or BC entries as part of your Neosig.
If you do have those you need to be actively contributing to the conversation of the thread. Saying "good luck trading" or "Best Wishes trading" would not be seen as actively contributing to the conversation and would be considered spam in those situations. ~~Kikocat

What an intriguing question! Neovia is currently represented by the Haunted Woods team since the foggy little town is nestled in the Haunted Woods. That being said, in recent years there have been rumblings that Neovia has been looking into starting up their own Altador Cup team but ran into some difficulty finding enough serious players to compete. That being said, with Team Dacardia setting up to the plate, there have been rumours that regions all over Neopia are scrambling to put together their own teams. So who knows, maybe one day we will see a Neovian Team grace the Altador Stadium… ~~Aesop

Hi, Yes, the moderation team can see anything that is written on the site regardless of where that is written so they can see: guild chat, boards, Neomails, trading post wishlists, petpages and user lookup pages. Hi. Are the new Trudy's Surprise Petpets supposed to be paintable? At the time of writing, they are, and if this continues, the value of previously rare Petpets will be destroyed. Also, this is inconsistent with previous Trudy releases. I believe this is an error; please have Donny take a look. :) ~_brainchild_

Hiiii! So I got a Zomutt Play Fetch item from a NYCC pin, but due to animations on customization being broken it is literally invisible everywhere but the customize screen. Is there any way to get the frame of animation used for the photo shown elsewhere on the site changed so the item will actually be visible when worn by one of my pets? :( ~~cookii_music

I recently saw a board where a user was generating AI art for other users based on their neopets. This made me think about the BC/art gallery and how the official rules pages for both haven't been updated in a long time. It also made me think, 'Wow, what's stopping people from submitting AI art to these competitions and potentially winning them?' Is there an official stance on whether or not AI art is allowed to be entered into these competitions, and, if it's not, how might TNT combat people from entering with AI art? Personally, I don't want it allowed and find current AI art extremely unethical. Please keep my username anonymous. ~~Anonymous
Yes, we have internally been discussing how the rise of art generated using AI will impact some of our creative contests on the site. We agree that allowing users to enter AI art into on-site competitions would be unfair to artists who have spent hours perfecting their work. We are planning on updating the rules of both the Beauty Contest and Art Gallery soon to state that AI art entries are not allowed. Since AI art is a relatively new phenomenon that is still developing, it will likely be difficult to identify every single AI submission. However, we will look into ways to detect AI-generated art and do our best to keep up with these developments in our rapidly changing world! Also, as always, if you see a user who you suspect is breaking the rules, please do not hesitate to let us know and send along any information you have that could help us verify they have been cheating. Kikocat even removed an AI art submission today after it was reported by another user! ~~Aesop

Hi TNT, I'm sure this has probably been brought up in previous issues over the years but in the very off chance it hasn't been asked yet: when will be able to see our sent neomail messages? It can be very hard sometimes when you send someone a neomail and they get back to you 24-48 hours later with their response, only for you to have forgotten what you sent them in the first place. This has certainly been an issue in the past when holding multiple conversations as well. ~~mickey_a94_a39

With other priorities we have on the site and upcoming events it will take some time for us to work on this. Hey! I’ve noticed on the boards that whenever there’s a new user, they experience frustration over the checklist feature for new accounts—you can’t get rid of the neohome creation or tutorial from the checklist because they cannot be completed without Flash. Is there any way these can be removed so that the site isn’t immediately off-putting to new players? ~~encroached
We have a tutorial update planned in the future on our roadmap, and a large focus of that update will be improving the first-time user experience. We certainly understand how being unable to complete the checklist for new accounts can be frustrating and turn new players off. Removing those two from the checklist (or even updating the checklist itself) is an excellent suggestion, so thank you for sharing it with us. We will keep this in mind when we get around to updating and polishing the site introduction for new users! ~~Aesop
