Neopian Times Editorial Database

The Neopian Times Editorial is a (usually) biweekly column hosted by The Neopets Team that answers questions direct from Neopians. Unfortunately, these Q&A's are not easily searched on the Neopets site, so we've created our own searchable database. Convenient for looking up past answers!

To search, just type something in the box below! (The fewer words, the better... usually.)

When will we be able to play the special characters in the NeoPets Battledome?

We are just developing the finished version of the multi-player battledome, once we have added in all the items, abilities and magic powers the tournament will begin. This will be an on-going event to find the best fighter in all Neopia. Winners will earn themselves great prizes such as Neopoints, rare items and trophies for their cabinets. When the multi-player tournament is up and running the single player game will be launched and you will be able to fight all the special characters you have collected.

Why can only certain NeoPets be painted certain colours?

The colours your NeoPet can change into depend on its species. Some NeoPets wouldn't be seen dead in a Faerie costume but can't get enough of their Halloween gear. Every NeoPet will have several options that you can colour it and we will be adding to these all the time.

What do you do with the spells, scrolls and enchantments?

These will all become useful in the Battledome. We are constantly adding more items, abilities and enchantments to the game but we need to test each new addition before we can add another. The NeoPets Battledome is still a Beta version. This means it is not the complete version it is just the first release before everything has been tested.

When I submit a caption to the contest, why doesn't it show up?

Captions must be approved before they will show up on the site. Every time you hit submit your caption is entered into the contest (entering more than once will not increase your chance of winning). We then sort through and select the best ones to appear on the site. This is done all the time so if you don't see your caption within a few hours it probably didn't get picked.

How can I get my pet back to the way it was before the lab ray changed it?

Really it is your own fault, if you are mean enough to fire a big ray gun at your NeoPet you can expect something nasty to happen. There are many potions currently on sale that can change your pets species and colour. You can use one of these to change your pet back to normal. However, if the ray gone does more extreme damage or there are no potions for your pets species you could try emailing [email protected] and asking nicely if they will help your pet:)
