Dragoyle Hunting
To celebrate the annual Discovery of Meridell Day in 2018, Nanci decided to host a Dragoyle Hunting contest! From July 30th to August 5th, 2018, she will be releasing Dragoyles to find in Meridell. There is an official FAQ for this event.
In total, there will be 6 Dragoyles to hunt, which is one for each day of the event. The first day of the event will be a traditional 1.5 days, giving you July 30th and July 31st to complete Day 1.
Beginning the Hunt
To start the event, visit the main Meridell page. Nanci will be below the map. Click the 'Okay!' button to begin the event.
This will also award the Meridell Site Theme, and refresh the page. Nanci will now have some new dialogue, and one of the gates below her will be open, showing a Dragoyle (the colour of the Dragoyle is different for each user). Click on 'I'm Ready!' to begin the hunt!
The Dragoyle will now disappear and your job is to hunt it down across Meridell. Dragoyles of all colours will now begin appearing at locations around Meridell. Click on them to try and capture them. The Dragoyles that can appear are:
Finding the Dragoyle
You will only be able to catch the colour of Dragoyle that you saw Nanci release. All others will not recognise you. It is also possible you might encounter some Dragoyles of the same colour as the one you are looking for, but they won't recognise you. This is due to Nanci release multiple Dragoyles of the same colour. Keep looking in that case, eventually you will find another Dragoyle of the same colour.

Each Dragoyle is only available for one Neopian day, with the first day lasting until July 31st at 11:59 PM NST.

Dragoyle Boxes
You will also be awarded a special box, depending on the day you are completing. These are items that can only be opened with a key from the NC Mall, and will each award a different wearable item.
Despite your ability to buy and sell the boxes for Neopoints in user shops, you may only open one of each box per account. Attempting to open a second Aqua Encrusted Dragoyle Box, for example, will result in a message saying there's nothing inside the box.
