Items That Give Diseases
Unfortunately for the Neopets of Neopia, there are numerous items out there that give diseases! To prevent Neopians from feeding their pets these horrible items, we've compiled of a list of items to avoid.
Contracting a Disease
The items listed below are not guaranteed to make your pet sick with each use. You may have to use an item several times in order for your pet to fall ill.
Inventory Items
One way to contract a disease is by using an item in your inventory. This can either mean eating the item (such as a Negg or jelly) or reading the item to your pet (for items like scrolls). The table below shows these specific items, and will also tell you what disease it can give your pet.

Apples
Feeding a Kyrii any item with the word "apple" in its name will cause the Kyrii to contract Itchy Scratchies.
Cheese
Feeding a Skeith any item with the word "cheese" in its name will cause the Skeith to contract Neezles.
Cream
Feeding a Quiggle any item with the word "cream" in its name will cause the Quiggle to contract Neezles.
Neggs
Feeding a Tonu any item with the word "negg" in its name will cause the Tonu to contract Neezles.
Battledome Items
The second method is by having an item used against you in the Battledome. This means that your opponent uses the item, and in turn it makes the pet you are using for battle ill. The table below shows these specific items, and will also tell you what disease it can give your pet.

Other than from the items and methods mentioned above, diseases can also be contracted from The Wheel of Misfortune or The Wheel of Excitement, and from Random Events.
