Hey guys! We have some amazing news that we wanted to let you know about today. Jellyneo is extremely excited to announce that we've joined the Viacom family! We are now a wholly owned subsidiary of Viacom. For full details, read the official press release below:NEW YORK, NY - Jellyneo.net, an online property dedicated to covering developments and games on Neopets.com, has just been purchased by Viacom, Inc. for the sum of $1.1 million (USD) in a transaction consisting of cash and stock. Jellyneo will be housed under the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds Group (NVWG), a division within Viacom's MTV Networks that builds online virtual worlds for kids. Jellyneo has covered Neopets, one of the NVWG properties that Viacom also acquired in 2005 for $160 million, for over five and a half years and will continue to provide coverage to its large user base.
Jellyneo's new mission under the Viacom umbrella will be to cross-promote multiple MTV Networks brands and introduce users to other NVWG brands who may have not been previously familiar with brands such as Spongebob Squarepants, iCarly, etc. The newly planned promotions and events will commence this spring.
