Faerie Fragments App Update: New Event + Skill Leveling

Following a period of maintenance, a new update was released for Faerie Fragments this morning. The app update itself was pushed earlier this week, so you may not even need to update your app!

New Event
Another in-app event has started: Soup's On! The event runs from today through 2am NST on September 23. NEW: The prize shop will only stay open a few hours past the end of the event, until 7pm on September 23, rather than a few extra days like in previous events.

The event is similar in mechanics to what we've seen before. Clear levels, complete daily quests, collect Bronze Coins, and earn in-app prizes, including more "Fragments" to unlock Ascor.

There is also a paid event track with additional prizes for $6.99 USD (this will increase to $9.99 after the first two weeks of the event).

You can also earn an exclusive item prize on Neopets.com. If you have NeoPass connected and earn 3,000 Bronze Coins during the event, you will earn a new exclusive item.

Skill Leveling
A new feature has been added that will allow you to increase the power of partner abilities. This can be done by collecting a new in-game currency: materials. Currently, these can be earned as both threshold and prize shop prizes from the new event.

As of this update, only Jorett's abilities can be powered up, which you can do through the Journal. Look forward to a Jellyneo guide on this new mechanic soon!

New Achievements
To go along with skill leveling, some new Achievements are available for collecting materials and for upgrading Jorett. The top Achievement for upgrading Jorett's skill awards a brand new album item!

Endless Challenge Prize Update
There are new Endless Challenge prizes for the next two cycles.

yeahh finally the partner skills are getting some attention. I was VERY disappointed when I realized Nephrite and Ascor just straight up re-use Varia's and Jorett's skills, respectively. They even do the same dance moves... kinda disappointing if you consider how much effort it takes to unlock them both

Oh they put some in the paid track of the progression. I really should not have expected otherwise. ...they're in the event shop too? I haven't done the math yet, but this is going to make how much effort I need to put in for each event so much worse, I bet.

this is awesome, now my only complaint is that they need to make other modes like endless mode and what not give you 25 tokens a level just like the normal levels. they are equally hard.
