Three, count 'em, three new avatars are now available from playable items on the site! The items that grant these avatars are available from various Rare Item Codes, but are not consumable, so they can be purchased or lent from other players.

First up, playing with the Greetings from Neo York Postcard will award the new "Welcome to Neo York!" avatar. This item is available from a Rare Item Code given with any purchase at the Neo York pop-up this weekend.

Next, playing with the Neo York Doughnutfruit Plushie will award the new "Yum!" avatar. This item is available from a Rare Item Code given for being one of the first 500 attendees each day of the pop-up or attending at any point while wearing thematic attire.

Finally, playing with the Crafting Plushie JubJub and Shoyru Foreground will award the new "Plushie Mania" avatar. This item is available from a goodie bag that is itself available from a Rare Item Code attached to the recently shipped Youtooz Plushie Jubjub and Plushie Shoyru.

Yay, more very limited rare item code items that give avatars when used! Yes you can lend them out to one another.. but not many people are actually interested in doing that, I think.

I can't be the only one that finds this very unfair. Not one, but two avatars associated with a single weekend event in a real world location?? We've reached levels of "pay-to-play" that I never thought possible... I get that the items aren't consumable, but it will be almost impossible for non-attendees to get them.

They're all cute and well done. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the Hasee. The Hasee Bounce game is so memorable to me.

We can only hope that they'll do more pop-up stores around the US (or around the world, because Neopia is worldwide...) that will offer the same rewards, to generate more of these items to make lending easier. That doughnutfruit is literally limited to 500 units!

I thought they promised the people who bought those Shoyru and Jubjub plushies an *exclusive* avatar? I thought it was going to be like the TCG codes where it's just going to be a one-time use code for the buyer. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's NOT locked behind such an exclusive and expensive paywall and they're making more avatars lendable. Now I'm even more glad I didn't spend all that money on one of those plushies. They were cute but quite expensive and they didn't even offer combined shipping, if you wanted both you had to pay the shipping cost twice :')

Okay, I might have too many GTs but I just don't get the last av description. People ordered plushies should have a code somewhere? You get item and you get av?

Frustrated as someone who attended the VIP event yesterday, they did not give out that doughnutfruit avatar - logistically, not only are they saying you have to attend the event, you have to attend the event on the other specific days, some people could only attend yesterday (if they could).

Not trying to be ungrateful but it's annoying and logistically just stupid - even people who had issues w/ merch I heard were asked to "come back the next day". hello sir i'm not from around here -__-

@winterlight, I did order and my Shoyru came without any code so I mailed the company and got this back:

"Good news, you will be receiving the bonus in-game code for your Shoyru plush soon!

This should be emailed to you within the next week, so please keep an eye out for this

"

and then a bit about that the mail can end up in the spam folder.

Oh look, more avatars for the flood. do I update my JN "avatars I still need" tool daily at this point? TNT have this way of taking something the community likes/covets and flooding the entirety of the site with it until it no longer means anything and they're no longer special.

remember the dark old days when TNT took the stance that attaching avatars to spending real world money was unfair to the subset of their playerbase that were unwilling/unable to participate financially? great! because, thankfully, they found a way around that pesky ethical principle by attaching the avatars to in-game items... in-game items that can only be acquired by spending real world money! even better, some of these items are only obtainable if you live!!! in one very specific city!!!! in one very specific country!!! in one VERY specific hemisphere!!! but don't worry if you live on the opposite side of the world to these events, you can always beg on the neoboards for someone to lend you the item they paid real world money for! or hey, why not even buy it from them for the low low price of tens of millions of neopoints? or kickstart your neopets career by moving to NA so you too can trade your hard earned cash for unearned in-game riches!

the possibilities are endless, and the innovation at TNT knows no bounds!

I tried lending and it never worked, whenever the object was to be lended to me smth would happen. I'm not doing it again ever. I'll wait for them on the quest log if ever. I'm done.

Oh..good then I wasn't imagining things because my Shoyru surely did not have code as well and checked email as well (i got mine like few weeks ago). Plushie is wonderful tbh, I have no complaints on that

Wow, complaining about an abundance of new avatars? That's definitely a choice. I have to completely disagree with the 'flood' complaint. The entire point of avatar hunting is having new goals to work towards, and if TNT stopped releasing them, this would make things stale fast.. I think they look great.

to all that bought a plush Shoyruand got one without a code, I mailed Yootooz right after I got my Shoyru without the code and I got a mail back yesterday that I recive a mail next week with the code.

I don't know how it works with the Jubjub cause I saw in the Jelly database that the goodybag was available.

I saw on post that there was a batch with Shoyru plush that was shipped without the codes, don't know if that is true.
Maybe all the Shoyru plush were shipped without the codes

I completely 100% understand the complaints that getting lends is difficult and avatar collecting has become very VERY expensive, in real money, NP, or both. I do think that, even with reusable items rather than direct avatar codes, it seems quite unfair to have avis relating to real-life events count towards the collector stuff. I mean, the Goggles avi for NC doesn't count... Why not have a merch avi category??
However, as the first Neopets event I've been able to attend, I am pretty happy I can get an avatar that says "I was here!"
Also, I hope they printed enough Hasee code cards, because in my experience over 50% of the line qualified for Neopian attire. So they won't be QUITE as rare as the 500x3 figure suggests.

Can confirm, I wore "thematic attire" and to the other person who wrote
they did not give out that doughnutfruit avatar
(they went on thursday and were told to go on different days)
.......I was told it was just for Thursday!
Everyone else in the store said get it at check out. So. There's that.
No Usuki items besides the shirt I already had, and a post card, but now that I remember, someone walked out with an Usuki tote bad, and there were tons behind the register.
I asked 3 employees.
No stickers "sold out" (and I was told by someone else they got it on VIP release)

I waited an hour an a half in line, not so bad on Friday. But I didnt go back on Sunday, just to have them sold out, or tell me they dont have it, when they have it.

I hope they do an online store, I dont think this is very fair to other players, and im in the NY area.
I enjoyed it, im gonna still complain because there's not much communication about the store, or restocking.

At the register, they did not give out the code, I would have qualified. She said it was only for thursday.
If I had a question, they would not really know how to answer it.
They did give out free water, if you asked.

Thursday...? The shop didn't EXIST on Thursday. I got my code on Saturday with zero issues. I have never seen any official or trusted source say the Hasee codes were limited to specific days. The Usuki items, however, were specifically stated to be for Sunday.
Respectfully, I think you may be operating on incorrect data or assumptions.

My Shoyru plushie also arrived without a code. I had a little tag on mine, but not a code one. It does have a cute little metallic colored Shoyru head silhouette though! When I was looking at the plushies and saw that they estimated not shipping until September 1st through the 30th, I thought that maybe mine arrived way too early and that's why there was no code. Even checked my email in case there was a "item shipped/item delivered" email but nope. Would love to know which support to contact for them (TNT, or the Yootooz staff?)

Also to Veeblackwell, I think theyre supposed to have a code, I didnt get that, however with some other items, people are also reporting are missing codes (cardigans etc) You should send in a ticket to and ask, I would also email Yootooz! it doesnt hurt to ask.

Usually the FAQs say to submit a ticket to TNT.

I do with TNT would spend more time converting the old items and games to the new format instead of continuing to create events that only certain players can attend. I mean, I realize they are open to any players, but I don't know all that many people who are willing to spend the money to travel somewhere plus all the expenses that go with it, just to purchase Neopets merch. I'd much rather be able to see the item I have my Neopet wearing than spend real cash on pins or other things just to get a rare item code. It's so frustrating to get something as a 'prize', and not be able to see it. Meh.

I checked my spam email and I had an email from Youtooz with my rare item code for the Shoyru I bought (it had no code on the tag, but my Jubjub did!)
