To start, there is a brand new avatar to be earned if your pet has ever won the Customisation Spotlight. It is awarded by viewing the results page and works retroactively! Pets cannot be traded to trigger this avatar (we tried). It will only be awarded if a pet won the spotlight previously while it was on your account. Currently it only works if the pet is still on your account. We are not sure if moving the pet back to the account it won on will trigger the avatar. If you try this, please let us know!
Pets can now be entered in a new category—Styling Studio—meant for any pet actively wearing a Pet Style. You can enter 2 pets in the Neopoint category, 2 in the Neocash category, and 2 more in the Styling Studio category, for a total of 6 entries. Your pet will automatically be placed in the appropriate category.
As a reminder, per the updated FAQ you are no longer allowed to participate on side accounts.
The monthly themed contest does not appear to be live at this time.
Voting changes also appear to be live. You are still restricted to 100 votes per day, but the voting page now features a handy counter to let you know how many votes you've cast. Pets are now voted on in a "head to head" style competition, as opposed to the old system which had users ranking pets on a scale from 1 to 10.
Although both options are supposed to be from the same category (NP, NC, or SS) for fairness, we've had reports this morning that the Styling Studio and Neocash pets are being pitted against each other.
