Altador Cup Trophy Requirements Announced

Some time yesterday, TNT updated the official Altador Cup FAQ with a new question regarding trophy requirements. In past years, trophies have been dependent on your final rank—however, ranks no longer exist this year.

Will I be able to earn a trophy for participating and doing well? How do I earn that trophy?
If you earn a certain amount of points throughout the Altador Cup, you'll be able to earn a trophy to be awarded at the end of the event. 250 points will get you a Bronze Trophy, 500 points will earn a Silver Trophy, and earning 1000 points earns a Gold Trophy! Any amount of points under 250 will grant a participation ribbon.

So, for anyone worried about getting the top trophy, it would appear you only need to earn 1,000 points to qualify.

It's not clear if that means total points or points specifically from playing games. To determine your breakdown, visit the Prize Shop and hover over the box labeled "Total Points Earned".

Will you be aiming for a triple All-Star equivalent rank, or dipping out after 1,000 points? Let us know in the comments!

Only 1,000 points???
I wanted to spend at least 3 hours of my day playing to get Double Rank All-Star after a month!!!!! I deserve the grind!
by allanmennezess on July 8, 2026 6:10 PM NST
...I'm going on quadruple all-star then, dang.
by zoeyaugust1245 on July 8, 2026 6:13 PM NST
oh, that's not bad at all! really huge shift in the intensity level, i wonder how that'll go over with the more intense ac players... i'm not fussed about trophies at all, but it's nice to know it's physically possible for me to get a gold trophy. i'll go for gold!
by sentehisshou on July 8, 2026 6:13 PM NST
I had the entire Adventure pace completed day 1...1000 points is putting in slightly more effort than doing dailies for 9 days.
by wahammy on July 8, 2026 6:27 PM NST
I... don't understand their point system. It's great that it's lower, but then why the heck make the challenge track max at 1500? At least be consistent
by crabbyb0tter on July 8, 2026 6:32 PM NST
I have to go beyond 1,000 points to get all the stuff I want from the prize shop. A little past 3000 for the collectables.
by orangeblossom45 on July 8, 2026 6:33 PM NST
And likewise, of it really means 1000 pts from only playing games, then state it clearly?! I didn't even know there was a poont breakdown by the hidden hover over total points earned until this post. Would it kill TNT to be transparent
by crabbyb0tter on July 8, 2026 6:34 PM NST
It's enough they make prize shop items have a limit to buy nowadays, why should they decided what and how many items we want to get from the shop?
and if people who get so many point in the end they could only buy those trash instead of the collectible in the end.
by blue82182001 on July 8, 2026 6:35 PM NST
Ítems in Shop now have Limits
by vtx_11 on July 8, 2026 6:48 PM NST
Yay!! A gold trophy for me!! 1500 points to get the stamp and then I'm done for the year.
by skyheart15 on July 8, 2026 7:07 PM NST
Only 1000 points for Gold is absurd, is honestly offensive. TNT is giving everything away like is candy, where's the challenge if everything is given so easily?
by drougy on July 8, 2026 7:09 PM NST
Boooooring! They killed the hype for the Altador Cup and made it for lazy people. It was about lowering the bar a bit, not going to extremes.
by aoitex on July 8, 2026 7:13 PM NST
Anyone else submitting scores in all altador cup games but the Hat Trick achievement still shows as 0/3?

I do think it should probably be higher than 1000 for gold, but not a huge bunch more than that. I like that cup trophies/goals are actually finally achievable for a full time working adult with other life responsibilities :')
by areth on July 8, 2026 7:17 PM NST
Ítems in Shop now have Limits
Yes, that's what I hate
by blue82182001 on July 8, 2026 7:29 PM NST
TNT just keeps ruining the AC. 1,000 points for a gold trophy is goofy. I wish they would reward people who actually put in time & effort.
by krasavitsa on July 8, 2026 7:39 PM NST
Personally, I don't have a lot of time to be on Neopets so it will be nice to earn gold without worry.
by dustin on July 8, 2026 7:48 PM NST
And I think it's funny people complained about the grind, TNT changed it, and people continue to complain. Sigh.
by dustin on July 8, 2026 7:49 PM NST
I'll do what I can for Team Dacardia, but putting an unpopular team against a powerhouse like Maraqua Day One was kinda mean...
by duskshadowbrony on July 8, 2026 7:50 PM NST
Not gonna lie, I'm old now. I enjoy the shorter easier to win AC. I can just about an hour and a half of play a day and earn everything I want to earn! I do think they shouldn't put caps on items redeemable to allow for people who want to grind more.
by nbbug132 on July 8, 2026 8:05 PM NST
i think they could have made this easier without completely kneecapping it. 3-5K would be attainable and still require more work. sigh. oh well.
by freezepop on July 8, 2026 8:36 PM NST
I'm done. I got 2,940 pts as there were only 5 prizes I wanted for myself (not into investments) and I got the 2 avatars (didn't have the Fanatic one).
by o_ya_toe_knee_is_gr8 on July 8, 2026 8:39 PM NST
Im playing my rear end off as much as possible.. im way past gold. I just want my team to place this year. Krawk Army!!
by shadoh647 on July 8, 2026 9:06 PM NST
what even is the point of having trophies that are so low?
They should have gone with 1k - bronze, 5k - silver, 10k - gold. At least give people SOMETHING to work with... come on.
by godzilla1 on July 8, 2026 10:02 PM NST
"It's not clear if that means total points or points specifically from playing games."

What HAS been clear from this site, especially the last 3 weeks?
by gweezunstad on July 8, 2026 10:05 PM NST
Bit weird you can get gold without even beating the challenge track.
by violentexhale on July 8, 2026 10:53 PM NST
Yeah, I think 1k bronze, 5k silver, 10k gold would've been better. Trophies shouldn't really matter to people who don't care about AC, so you should give people who grind something to work towards... like, I always hated the AC grind... I made it to rank 15 once. It kinda destroyed me and after that was satisfied with just getting my participation ribbon or rank 1 trophy every year. People who went for All-Star and got the huge trophy earned it!

I'm really glad for the simplified prize shop and for it to be available from the get-go, but there's no need to give ~everything~ away.
by kiriska on July 8, 2026 11:26 PM NST
I did the All-Star grind for Team Terror Mountain in 2024 and it was exhausting but rewarding. But it will be nice to kick back and get a nice easy trophy this year.
by skyheart15 on July 8, 2026 11:28 PM NST
what a joke
by galux on July 9, 2026 12:17 AM NST
A 1000 points? You can get that from just the achievements and the trivia questions alone (give or take)! Maybe not host an Altador Cup if you don't actually *like* the Altador Cup. Just dump your stories-that-read-like-fanfictions in the Neopian Times and call it a day
by apophis324 on July 9, 2026 12:43 AM NST
Oh, but let me issue another warning: I do not believe this is the full Prize Shop (if this is the confirmed final prize shop then I do not believe that either :3). There will be an AC XX stamp added to it after the fact! Don't spend all your points at once people!!
by apophis324 on July 9, 2026 12:45 AM NST
The beauty of the old style AC Cup was that the more serious gamers had a proper challenge on their hands - unfortunately TNT in their wisdom to listen to the "it's too difficult and takes too long" brigade and have diluted the event down to please them (hopefully not to just to make more money selling them shortcuts and bonus items etc.) The new trophy requirements reflect this "easyfying" of this once intense and rewarding gaming experience. Will be interesting to see how this affects the final outcomes - as there is a good chance that the fairweather players will get their points, claim their prizes and then stop taking part in the tournament!
by cabbil_bane on July 9, 2026 1:00 AM NST
I just noticed there are free prizes to be had at the challenge track as well (Had missed that somehow, and hadn't claimed any of them yet). At 1500 points, there's a stamp to be had. So I'm going to have to try to get to 1500 points now. And by then I'll be real close to get 1000 points from just games so I might as well aim for that to be sure of a gold trophy given ambivalent wording. I'm currently at 452 points from games, 1047 overall.

I don't like the altador cup. I'm not good at the games. The only one I can really do is the shootout.
by woodstocki on July 9, 2026 2:42 AM NST
Ehhhh I was over this year's AC but only 880 of my points are from games so.. fiiiine just to be safe I'll play some more...
by biediep on July 9, 2026 3:36 AM NST
Really hoping they bring back proper ranks next year because they made this cup way too easy. You can finish it all in an afternoon
by mavix_ on July 9, 2026 4:37 AM NST
Personally, I'm okay with the change. I can't see why people would want to play the same 20 year-old game dozens of times every single year. I grinded out over 2000 points for all the cards and that was enough for me lol
by coolman on July 9, 2026 4:47 AM NST
Grinders gonna grind but the principal will still come around and tell you to leave room for Jesus !

I played like 20 games of yooyu ball yesterday and all but 5 froze so I can’t say I’m mad about the lower trophy requirement.. funny this is the most I’ve ever played in a cup
by armyfromnothing on July 9, 2026 5:38 AM NST
Anyone still having issues submitting scores? Every time I play yooyuball it just freezes when I hit 'submit score'.
by angi_didi on July 9, 2026 5:44 AM NST
I like this more chill version of AC a lot, though 1000 points for gold seems comically low.
by horses_46569 on July 9, 2026 6:09 AM NST
Prize Shop limitations changed for the two album item cards (they are both limited to 2 now).
by lia_19_85 on July 9, 2026 6:31 AM NST
i mean its 2500 to max out the challenge track.
by dethrae on July 9, 2026 7:52 AM NST
Anyone else submitting scores in all altador cup games but the Hat Trick achievement still shows as 0/3?
^
Me it is clearly glitched because I have been playing every game every day. It showed as cleared 3/3, on day three but wouldn't let me claim it, went down to 0/3 now it's 2/3. IMO they just don't want to take accountability for the initial glitchy game submission issues & will eventually award it if you keep playing!
by scienceghoul on July 9, 2026 12:04 PM NST
Honestly, they lowered it to the right amount, because they have not fixed their glitchy games from the start, all the games need a mobile redesign because the controls are very keyboard based and mouse usage for yooyuball is not it (so hard to shoot at an angle)

If they made mobile versions of the games and made it not suck to play the same few games over and over again then making a higher minimum for gold makes sense.

They also shortened the event, people may not be able to participate the whole time and should still be able to snag a good trophy if they can put in a few days of grind!
by scienceghoul on July 9, 2026 12:10 PM NST
I just want to understand why my submitting scores that meet the minimum requirement to count on ALL ac games isn't increasing my counter on the Hat Trick achievement :/
by mercy_graves on July 9, 2026 3:20 PM NST
Yeah I don't think 1k is really that challenging.

Glad I reached rank 20 during the last real AC. RIP Altador Cup lol
by wednesday793 on July 9, 2026 4:26 PM NST
unlike you, some people actually have other things to do and can't just grind all day.
by sweetadeline on July 9, 2026 8:32 PM NST
Aww <3 I really love that they've made this more manageable for players. I've got a full time job with frequent family and health emergencies, plus I have a partial disability and physically can't sit around grinding like I used to. It made me not even bother really participating because everything felt so unattainable, and I'd just see people complaining the everything was too easy and to raise the scores even higher. Like, I've been appreciating the Neopet changes when they're making stuff more inclusive with difficult family situations and disabling chronic health stuff like me. I know it makes things less challenging for hardcore players, but it means a lot that there's some acknowledgement that we're not all able-bodied or able to access the site throughout the day but that we still love trying to be a part of the Neopets community and participate in ways that don't make us feel like we're missing out or being punished for being ourselves.
by eaps on July 9, 2026 9:04 PM NST
I was kind of hoping trophies would be like how they were for the first couple of ACs, where the trophy is in relation to how the team places in the cup while listing your participation level underneath.

It encourages players to keep trying for the sake of their chosen team, rather than give up at the 1,000 pt mark :-(
by tahirah on July 9, 2026 10:32 PM NST
At first I thought I missed a game score on the second day but now I know I submitted scores for all yesterday and today and its still at 1/3 for hat trick
by faerie_boy on July 10, 2026 6:41 AM NST
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to scoring in Yooyuball on mobile? It feels soooo so difficult and maybe I'm missing something.
by animestar on July 10, 2026 8:48 AM NST
Its too easy, ridiculous everyone can get Gold then. Slushie Slinger seems harder this year but maybe it's just my age.
by cjc4light on July 10, 2026 9:29 AM NST
@violentexhale So you think they should lock the gold trophy behind a paywall? lol
by iraisan on July 10, 2026 2:19 PM NST
@scienceghoul If they made It mobile friendly then they would work but still not let you submit any score like the obstacle game In the companion app Is. Proooobably (No Idea If they have fixed It.)

@animestar my honest recommendatin regarding playing YYB on mobile....... don't

@iraisan The challenge Track Is just 1,500 points. You get gold by reaching 1,000 points. It Is kinda really weird, but not to the extent of walling It Into a paycheck  ( when JN xD)

___________________________________

Me personally, for this to be my first time ever participating In AC, I feel glad the score Is this low.YYB Is kinda hard; Slushie Slinger Is kinda unfair, forcing you to play It Inefficiently cuz you get punished by the customers throwing their empty recipients together so they fall together so you can only pick up one of them ), Make Some Noise Is a short simple game that rewards you little points [but at least you can do It with other activities If you don't want to waste time ], Shootouts Showdown Is... the same as Make Some Noise (but wait 10 seconds or you won't be accepted which sucks but whatever ¬-¬) and Obstacle Course Caper sucks

And, not to mention, depending on who, which or whatever It Is, your YYB or SS might suck In your hardware (and probably the other games x'd). Worst case scenario, submission also sucks and won't be accepted O_O

I got this response to my ticket for Hat Trick last night, if anyone else was still having issues:

Hello!

Thank you for writing in to report this issue with the Altador Cup Achievements today! We are aware of an issue that caused the Altador Cup Hat Trick achievement to reset or fail to progress. Our team has identified the root cause as a data synchronization conflict with the Companion App. We are happy to announce that this has been fixed! All affected user accounts have been updated, progress and achievements have now been restored!

Please rest assured that we are also aware of reported issues with the Sports Fan achievement and are actively investigating that as well. Thank you for your bug reports and your patience. We will provide another update as soon as the fixes are live.

If you are still having trouble with the achievements, make sure that when submitting your scores that again you're meeting the minimum required scores:
Yooyuball: 1+ goal
Slushie Slinger: 270+ points
Make Some Noise: 2,700+ points
Shootout Showdown: 35+ points (1 goal)
Obstacle Course Caper: 1,000+ points

If you're continuing to run into any issues at all, please don't hesitate to reach back out and we'll be more than happy to take another look!

Good luck!
