Altador Cup Round 2 Begins

The second round of the Altador Cup has begun today! Teams have now been sorted into two brackets based on their results last round, and are again randomly paired up.

The results of today's matches will further divide the teams into 4 brackets, which will remain in place for the remainder of the Cup.

With the last of the new Achievements completable today, a new avatar has been discovered for completing them all:

Note that the final achievement is to submit above minimum scores on all 5 games on 3 consecutive days. As such, it will become impossible to complete after this coming Sunday.

Finished the challenge track, which was enough to buy the 2 new album items from the prize shop, got the avatar, so I'm good. As far as I'm concerned, this year's AC is over

I had issues with that achievement as well since I played all 5. However, after reading the guide here for the AC, you have to send a minimum of 1,000 on the new game to qualify. I didn't know that, so I was wondering why I wasn't getting it.

It feels like they put in a really good faith effort and work to try to make it more appealing and modernized with the goals, while still preserving what the diehards like about the event, so I feel bad but I absolutely do not want to play. I really thought I was going to lock in and there are a couple prizes that I want, but I played one minute of yooyuball and quit because I Did Not Want To.

@semper_femina I'm probably just seeing this through rose-tinted glasses but I think the foosball style yooyuball from back in the day might've been easier (and a bit more fun). I had to stop playing yyb for today because it kept freezing.

How are people even getting the 8th goal situation? I get to 5/6 and every time I hit that number the game goes "here are back to back Darigan Yooyu" so I can't get anymore goals even if I wanted to....

How are people having trouble scoring goals? Aren't you using keyboards? I can usually get 8-10 goals in a single game going without problem.

I didn't think yesterday would have counted towards the consecutive days, since it was a day off.. I shall do better next time! That is.. if my FireFox stops messing with the Web GL settings, because now I can't even *play* Yooyuball

Easiest way to score with most balls is to go straight towards the goal, but on aligning the top or bottom of the middle altador cup logo, run down the field toward the goal and shoot. Just keep doing that over and over.

For the curve balls, face the goal straight in the middle and shoot, it will curve around goalie.

For darigan ball, try to give it to the goalie, eventually they will make an own goal.

Anyone running into issues where you submit scores for all games, but the achievement is stuck at 4/5? I've submitted them all twice today, just to make sure I hadn't missed anything. It's my first day playing, forgot about Round 1 lol

To add to hello_mary_old: My method is to go to the bottom of the field, about halfway into the opponent's half of the field (I play right to left, so that's halfway on the left side of the screen) and aim up. Yooyus usually go in through that method.
It also helps greatly with Darigan balls, as the chance that those go in the direction you want them to increases. When they go diagonally up, they're more likely to go in, but if they go diagonally down, they bounce off the wall and still head in the direction of the goal.

Keep trying and don't give up~!

@princessellaeverdeen: Make sure you score enough points on each game for the score to qualify. I sent in three scores of the Obstacle Course before I realised I needed at least 1000 points for the score to count.

@xxsinger: For one of the achievements you need to send in a valid score for all five games three days in a row. Since the event will be ending on the 15th, making the 14th the final day you can play, you no longer have three days in a row left to play after Sunday.

Got my 1600, avatar, Archived Book, and Y2 stamp. I'm quite satisfied with the effort / reward ratio, the grind wasn't that terrible even though I suck at games. SS getting lowered to 500 was the best, definitely wouldn't have hit 750.

8 goals - only managed this about 3-4 times, it's possible but rare.

Considering this is only Day 3, I'll see if I have the mood to grind for the collectible card that I didn't even realize was a stamp album, lol

@Herdy As of this writing, it looks like they increased redemption limit for the Wan Dirx and Layton Vickles stamp/cards to two per person.

My team (Terror Mountain) had a practice day yesterday, and I think that ruined my ability to get the last achievement today

I submitted beyond the minimum score on all games on Monday and Tuesday, and the counter on the achievement showed 2/3 yesterday evening. When I looked at it earlier today, it said 3/3 but the Claim Prize button was grayed out. So then I submitted beyond the minimum on all games today, and now it says 1/3 again, with the Claim Prize button still grayed out. I also submitted a score of the new Obstacle Course Caper game on the mobile companion app this morning, so maybe that interfered, idk.

I’ll submit a ticket as well, but I wanted to post this here in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

Are you guys playing to get the minimum score? Because in the Slushies game, for example, there's a minimum score of 250 points for the match to count. So you need to be aware of that. Today will be my third day playing the 5 games. I'll see if it works or if there's a bug going around.

something is off about the "hat trick" achievement. i played a game of each for the first time today. right after, it still showed up as 0/3. played a few more games and suddently it's at 2/3. it cannot possibly be 2/3 days because i only have a single game of slushie slinger played for the entire AC. is it a glitch?

Dang I really gotta get on it, I keep putting off playing. Altador cup always pretty tedious, seems like I can get some decent rewards for not too much playing this year though so thats really nice.

I'm not good at any of these games, and I've never really tried to get into the Altador cup. This year I made an effort to get enough points to get the rereleased stamp, but that avvie is going to be out of my reach. I can't make 8 goals in a yooyuball game, or 500 in slushie slinger.

Re: Hat trick; I thought mine was glitched but after seeing the comment of the high score of 1000+ on the obstacle game (another game it turns out I'm bad at), I sent in a score of 1169 and (having already have sent in high enough scores on the other ones) I did just get that achievement rewarded.

I think the achievements are pretty doable with a bit of practice/effort.... I just need the SS lag to get fixed. Control inputs just don't register for multiple seconds at a time, which has made even achieving the minimum counting score pretty difficult.

I've been happy with the AC updates overall, especially with the simple prize shop available from start. Really makes it easy to put in exactly as much effort as you want for the prizes you want instead of having to go hard and hoping you have enough points to afford whatever new collectable is added. Folks are always welcome to care as much or little as they want about any given site event anyway, but this makes it easy to make the care/not care decision.

I've had the Hat Trick achievement go screwy as well. I'm definitely sending above minimums, and had 2/3 days yesterday. Today after I'd only done the yooyuball it went up to 3/3 but greyed out and unclaimable, and then after I actually did all the games for today, it went DOWN to 1/3 again!

How the heck is anyone supposed to get 1000 points in Obstacle Course Caper?? The game responds so slowly that I keep crashing into things. It's so annoying that I need to hit a *minimum* score just for it to count when i send score. Sorry for, not being good?

Also, much like the Sakhmet Solitaire 2 game, if I keep it open to long it does this thing where it just. Freezes my computer. Like, everything becomes totally unresponsive and literally the only thing I can do is manually power it off :/

Will there be a game guide for Obstacle Course Caper? I'm finding it so hard to get past a few seconds before crashing. The highest score I've gotten is like 100 points or something, and I can't seem to use my keyboard for the controls

I also had the Hat trick achievement go from being 2/3 days yesterday to being 1/3 days after playing all five games today. Only thing I did differently was that I had submitted some games from the companion app yesterday so I am wondering if that isn't involved

Confirming here that my Hat Trick achievement is also bugged. I submitted above the required score on all games yesterday and than again today, and it's stuck on 1/3.

Hat trick isn't working for me either. it seemed to work OK on day 1 and 2, but today the only thing I did differently is OCC won't load on my computer so I tried submitting from the Companion app instead. the achievement has since gone back to 0/3, then 4/3 and now it is back on 2/3.

Just to be clear, that wasn't a typo - it said 4/3 briefly but didn't allow me to claim the prize. Meeting the minimum score requirements is not a problem for me.

Hat trick is off for me too. I missed Day 1 of games so I'm a day behind. I played all five games yesterday while meeting the minimums and it didn't change to 1/3 until I played them all at least twice. Today it started at 0/3 and now says 1/3 again after playing them all.

My hat trick progress reset after playing OCC on the app, was at 2/3 as others have said after playing it reset. If id have known i wouldnt have bothered but i figured it could be easier to do on the ipad because getting 1000 on the pc was tricky. what a crappy way to ruin this. Cant even get the avatar now because theres not enough days....

I'm also affected by the hat trick bug. I'v played every day, all games, more than minimum scores. This morning it was saying 2/3, submitted everything, and it's back to 1/3

I did use the companion app yesterday but I'll avoid it today at all costs to see if that's it.

@loveeevee , no I meant the Hat Trick. I could've worded it more clearly though. I was at 2/3 and couldn't seem to get it to 3/3, despite (I thought) having sent in qualifying scores for all 5 games for 3 days in a row. Turned out, my obstacle game score was a little too low and once I sent in another one of 1000+ I got the achievement.

Just chiming in to say I'm also having an issue with the Hat Trick achievement. Twice now I've had the tracker up to 2/3 and twice when I submit scores for all five games on the third day it resets to 0.

It seems like if you want to get the hat trick acheivement you need to avoid the companion app! The first few days, I tried using the companion app to play OCC, however, it didn't work, so I tried on the computer too. It seems like if you play even 1 game of it on the companion app, it will block your ability to get progress on the hat trick achievement for the rest of the day, so don't use it at all!

Adding a pointer for the guide - If you've maxed out the available plays for a game for the day (ie 36 games of YY

, if you then beat an achievement after that it won't count.

ie I finally scored 8 goals in about my 40th game for the day but it didn't unlock the achievement, I had to do it again the next day within the game cap
