Lab Ray Updated

Following on from yesterday's conversion of user shops, today the Lab Ray has been converted to the new format.


As with the change to the Petpet Lab Ray, this has changed selection of Neopets to a dropdown list rather than selecting the image of your Neopet.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The update means that at present, Jellyneo's Lab Logger service is not logging your zaps automatically. We'll let you know more about any ETA on fixes to our browser extensions as soon as we can evaluate the updates needed—in the meantime, you can manually enter your zaps. UPDATE: Our updated extension is now live for Firefox, and the Chrome update will be rolling out at some point on Thursday once it's approved by Google!

Been waiting for this update! It's much easier to zap with the drop down menu instead of having to scroll all the way to the pet you want to zap.

this is actually annoying, I like the pictures. Reading like 20 names trying to find the right pet takes longer for me. It would be nice if it had both name and their picture.

Is the drop down easier for mobile? It's annoying on desktop - I'm really going to miss doing zaps with refresh as well. Too bad they don't have both the drop down and the individual pet pictures underneath so you could choose which to use.

People didn't react well to the petpet lab being converted into a drop down menu, so why would they do the same thing here?

I hate this update. Even if we just had icons instead of the full picture, I would appreciate it more, so I can see all the potential pets I want to zap for the day.

WHY wont they just use the layout of grave danger for the lab rays?? i cannot stand the pet pet ray i dont even want to zap anymore let alone pay money for a dang cookie to zap more times per day..

Heh, what a confusing change. Maybe it was to make the page more responsive? Images can slow page load times down.

I hate this. It’s super annoying and easier to mess up and also I hate that you can’t just refresh for a second zap anymore. You have to redo the whole process which is slow and also doubles the danger of a duck up.

Im glad we are getting page layout updates, though I will say that the dropdown menu isnt my favorite. However, its better than the Petpet lab update because at least your pets name wont change!

My biggest issue with the Petpet ray is that with how often the ray changes your Petpet's name, it makes it difficult to remember which one you are zapping. They could easily fix this by doing away with the dumb name change zaps altogether. The jokes aren't funny anymore and a lot of them reference employees that no longer work there.

I wish they'd take a note out of GC's page and have it where you can disable whichever pets you DON'T want to zap. Would work well with the dropdown menu then.

I'm anticipating an update to Grave Danger, now, since everyone seems to prefer that layout to the lab layouts!

Ah yes, a drop down menu is definitely the better option than having a bunch of pictures to click on. Definitely will never accidentally click on my main pet to be zapped this way, nope, not at all.

*eyeroll*

Oh well, this kind of stuff is to be expected. At least they're trying?

I don't have many pets and I only have one that I zap, so it's a welcome change to make it smoother and faster! I love it!

It's cool that they're finally converting the pages. They probably changed the selection method because some people have so many pets that there wouldn't be room to show images of all of them. Plus, there's no way to pick the wrong one (unless you're really clueless)—you click the name and the Neopet's image pops up to confirm it's the right one, so there's no risk of zapping a Neopet you didn't intend to.

I had a Neopet Lab Ray Protector script that hid pets I didn't want to accidentally click on at the Lab Ray that is now broken with the update, RIP. I highkey don't trust myself to select a name rather than a picture lol. Like I know I could easily select the name of my lab pet and that it's kind of a dumb complaint, but like...I act on autopilot on Neopets so much that I'm scared I'll zap an expensively-painted pet by mistake.

Oh, I thought the dropdown with Petpet Lab Ray was the JN tracking thing, but it *was* on Neo! Why? It's quicker to glance at pictures than read names. Another bizarre choice from TNT...

Aaaaaand this is why I have a whole separate spreadsheet keeping track of various Neopets things, such as my breed of pet, highlighted in yellow for the one I want to zap. No way I could remember which pet is what color or species

Lab Ray Logger is not registering 2+ zaps since the page/logger was updated

Too bad TNT won't implement the Userscript styling made by users instead of this crap show they thing is UI.
