User Shop Pages Updated

Today, the pages associated with user shops have been updated to the new layout.

For your shop stock page, most functionality and display matches the original layout, but is now mobile-responsive. Some small changes and options have been added:
  • The "Remove" quantity has been changed from a dropdown to an incrementer (or can be typed in).
  • Prices above 1,000 will now have commas added as you type.
  • A "Remove All" option has been added at the bottom.


Desktop


Mobile

Shop fronts also have some minor adjustments.
  • There are now up to six items per row on Desktop and two to three (depending on screen width) on mobile.
  • The total number of items in a shop is shown just above the items.
  • Purchasing an item no longer results in refreshing the page.
  • Custom shop layouts are still possible! A guide to the changes is available as a pop-up in the edit shop page.

The sales history page is also largely unchanged, and sorting chronologically (instead of by price) has returned.


The shop till page has also been converted without any major changes.


Although Item Galleries remain linked in the navigation bar, gallery pages have not been converted at this time.

Hmm I do dislike that the nav bar for shop front/sales history/etc shows up on any user shop now, given that we also have a whole nav bar at the top of the webpage. It looks clunky and disjointed.

Also, I don't seem to get the pop-up on the edit shop page for some reason I'm on desktop, so wondering if that makes a difference or if it's just a glitch?

How do you get to your SDB now? The only way I can find it is to go to the auctions page and click from there. I am not a fan of the new layout. I do love that history is in chronological order though.

Bergsice - on any page with the updated navigation menu, you can expand the Inventory item in the list and you'll see SDB there.

LOL I’ve literally spent the past few days testing filters and implementing a custom implementation of the mobile layout into my gallery via a few tricks.

Guess I’ll halt that and wait for this conversion to reach galleries next. Still proud of the work I did

Btw @JN they updated the Market Place UI too. Of note, mapped links (what malls use to link to multiple shops) appears to no longer work (or they disabled clicking links within the market place UI - there’s a link to visit their shop at the bottom, and it appears everything else is unclickable atm)

(also while the webpage doesn't refresh, It doesn't count "down" the bought lot, so It remains static even If there Is none left o .o guess they still have to work that up )

Ever since this change, I can’t purchase anything from the shops. The captcha works and then the haggling page says “unable to process your request, please try again.” Is this happening to anyone else? I bought one thing this morning just fine. I need to buy one more for my daily quest log and can’ttttt.

I never got the popup on the edit page, but I just saved my shop again and my background is back. I like how the new shop blends with the deposit box and closet. It's easy to use.

I'm not looking forward to when they change the gallery layout/look ): I feel like Neopets is losing it's charm. I hope they're doing this for good reason - i.e. coding, and not because they want everything to just look "uniform" :/

ughhhh i hate the layout changes i don't think a large section of the 2026 playerbase of a nostalgia-oriented website is enthralled about the website changing its pages after nearly 20 years. the mobile beta design is new but somehow extremely dated/clunky at the same time. i wish they'd revert these or make them optional.

What I dislike the most about changes to pages like these (the Money Tree is a good example of it too), is that the rows of items don't stop on a row that's the same length as those above. Rows of items on a page in this new shop layout contain six items, except for the last one that only contains two items. Why not cut the page off sooner OR have four more items on the page? > -<

Just wanted to report the shop search function was also upgraded. before you had to put an items precise name for it to be searched, now you can use keywords like "snow" to see all items with "snow" in its name in my shop. This may seam small, but for shop owners that sell specific types of items ie. petpets, food, books, etc. this is a game changer that will save us millions of NP.

i may be blind, but does anyone know where the inventory button is on any of these new "updated" pages?
And I'm not referring to clicking on the shop, going to SDB, and then clicking inventory.
It used to be 1 click to get to from the top menu bar and now i need to navigate to the SDB to get to it, smh..

Very clunky re-design. Commas are nice as is the search function, but the overall layout look is yuck.

Hopefully, some of the very creative layout designers can come up with ways to overcome the bland, blocky look of the new shop revamp.

BTW, am I the only one who used the old Shop Stock page to be able to access the incredibly useful Quick Reference page?? Is there a link to the Quick Reference from anywhere else? I ended up bookmarking the page from the Jellyneo dailies page.

To get to your Inventory, you just click the portrait of your active pet and then Inventory. The convoluted way. OR you do like me and add a bookmark shortcut to your Inventory to your browser's top bar

@optikal and @cj48091- from any of the new updated pages, click on your active pet's portrait. Inventory is one of the options in the pull down menu. If you click on the little arrow beside "Inventory" you have an option to go directly to your SDB.

So many bugs. RIP custom shops.

You can't change the tally to remove and hit enter anymore, or change the price an hit enter anymore to update it: you have to scroll all the way down and click the update button.

Also, if you get to a shop to buy an item you got to from the SW or SSW and buy the item (at least if you buy it not from the searched-for-item at the top of the page), it doesn't update that you bought it at the top of the page anymore. It just sits there as if it's still in the shop, even when it's clearly removed from below.

Overall: Once again hate. This is WORSE for desktop users, requires more clicking/scrolling, is larger, clunkier, and just generally a worse experience. But TNT has proven they don't care about how desktop players interact with the site - only mobile users, and even then, I question the choices they've made. Given that they still have made no changes to the SDB to fix some of the issues there, I doubt this will be any more likely to be fixed.

Once again asking this question: WHY can't we keep the desktop version separate from the mobile version? And WHY are they destroying everything that some of us have loved for years now?

I've been playing for almost 26 years now and I'm close to quitting with how they've been doing things.

Also frustrated with the fact that I had replaced inventory with quickstock, then quickstock with shop stock, and now I don't even have that. Gallery doesn't have all the same links. There are two pages that I know of that do at this point, but I'm expecting they'll get destroyed sooner than later.

The old style pages links sets are much more robust and useful than the new ones. And don't tell me they're all in drop down bars or side bars or what not: I know that, but those require clicking to get open. The old style pages did not. I get it. That's not mobile friendly. But I don't play Neo on my phone, nor do I want to. Ever.

It's truly disheartening that rather than fix the annoying issues with the SDB first, they turn another page into this crappy design that looks like a mobile app targeted at toddlers. And this is my official feedback, if any ambassadors are reading, do pass it on.

I play on a laptop, at least 90% of the time, because no matter how "mobile friendly" they make it, mobile just ISN'T convenient to use for this kind of thing! I can quickly put my pet into training, but I don't do all my dailies on my phone, cause it's just uncomfortable. And that's regardless of the fact that their "mobile friendly" pages aren't that. Stop! Making! Every page mobile FIRST, because it just doesn't work anyway!

And additionally painful, is the fact that they just roll these out without warning, drop them off and move on to the next one to break. I wonder if they're gonna go back to the SDB to fix the problems that we pointed out within A DAY (and more in the following week or two). Maybe in a year, when we've got used to the extra hurdles? Remember how long it took to fix the Quest Log reroll """exploit"""...

I'm amazed that they actually announced AH being on the way to get a new layout and I hope they'll take into account any suggestions they might've already got based on the "teaser" of what the updates will bring. But I don't understand why it's an exception, or, from another perspective, they bothered to give us a warning about that, but not anything else so far.
And I don't expect it to look any better than any other converted page, anyway :/

A part from the huge diarrhea-coloured 'edit shop' buttons that appear even on other people's shops (and this is utterly useless) there is a MUCH WORSE change nobody has yet noticed. When we hover over the item we wish to buy, we can NO LONGER VIEW THE ACTUAL LINK in our browser!! I used this browser feature all the times to avoid scams, and now it is no longer possible! How can now we tell this site is safe? This is maddening!

Clicking enter doesn’t save your price anymore. I’ve been trying to restock my shop, and I have to sort by cheapest to lowest so I know where the item that I’m pricing is (the top) but now I have to scroll all the way down to update, and when I do the page reloads at the bottom, so then I have to scroll all the way up again, just to do the same thing over and over.

If ressing enter after putting in the price of your item, updated the page/saving the price. Or at least having a “back to top” button would really help out users like me who primarily use the website on my phone.

Also when buying from a shop, after buying it’s auto scrolls you back up, instead of reloading and placing you back where you were on the page, where the last item you bought was.

The outrage over this shop update is a massive overreaction. This is the design standard TNT is using moving forward, and it has been for years. The site cannot function on a broken split-codebase forever just to appease desktop purists who refuse to adapt to modern web standards.

Beyond the whining, the entitlement here is actively harming the player base. Submitting official help tickets because you're mad about a layout change is a total abuse of the system. Support staff have to wade through hundreds of these "feedback" tantrums, which directly delays response times for players dealing with game-breaking bugs, lost items, or locked accounts. It’s the operational equivalent of filing a false police report because you don't like the color of the siren. If you want to give feedback, use the designated boards or wait for an ambassador. Stop bricking the help desk because you have to scroll an extra inch to update your shop prices.

Might seriously consider leaving the site if they dung up the galleries like this, given that I've just started seriously getting back into neopets through collecting for my eventual gallery spotlight entry. I hate how they are ruining layout customization, I wonder if user lookups are also on the chopping block. This makes me sick. Coding was what got me obsessed with neo in the first place.

And I was one of the people who thought I'd be sticking around no matter what, unless the site went fully pay to play. Shows what I know.

This is terrible for shop pricing, which is a shame because they just improved restocking. Everything is so huge, taking up so much space. Why do this, especially since they have a companion app??
Now we have to scroll, scroll, scroll, just to price 20 items! And then, as usual, more clicking, pop-ups, and clicking.

They need to poll and test core layout changes before doing this. The trading post is still an issue, and the SDB is still mobile-UNfriendly.

I also want to add, I -AM- an almost exclusively mobile player, and I find these changes make navigation and actual "gameplay" difficult/tedious. Both the SDB and shop updates let you see so little and force a LOT of scrolling just to get to the bottom to perform an action; it isn't mobile-friendly.

Voicing frustration isn't bad, and is one of the very few ways we are able to provide feedback. The other is submitting tickets, which I do believe contains options for feedback/requests/suggestions, so nobody is "bricking the help desk" as someone pointed out.

If TNT won't poll or request feedback prior to rolling out extreme changes of core features, we have no way to give valuable input, and we're the ones keeping the site around.

@catriki I agree. I worked hard coding my gallery years ago, and still hope to one day enter the gallery spotlight. I'm not even sure I have access to the background image I made anymore, so hopefully our coding will be retained almost entirely.

I got to be honest, I think the "desktop purist" is a terrible take that sounds more entitled then the folks your complaining about , especially considering the majority of Neopets users are still desktop players. As someone who does work with coding, a decent website shouldnt be an either/or for desktop and mobile either, especially not for desktop, and especially not with new coding. (Doesn't help that even the new layouts dont load very well on the mobile side on the phone, especially when not logged into a premium account...).

I am curious how bad this effects the layouts people had set up, I haven't seen any that still have layouts, so at first I figured it had completly wiped them clear, but it sounds more like they still work to an extent, just the bar and shopkeeper bork it up the most.

besides how this new shop stock is wide and clunky, i miss the jellyneo tools with each new update. the sdb and shop price checkers are such lifesavers and i hope you guys can find a way to make them work again. i appreciate everyone at jellyneo so much because the tools and guides and updates make neopets playable/enjoyable, wouldnt still be here if it wasnt also for this work <33

anyway, i will probably get used to the new look but i don't enjoy it right now.

Seriously, usability has gone downhill ù__ù It now takes longer and more clicks to price items, offer on different trading lots... and according to the few mobile users who are writing here, they aren't faring any better, either... So much for mobile friendly site I guess ù__ù

Anyone also having issues with updating your prices on items? Mine keeps resetting back to 0 after i push the update.

Whoa...way confused. I adapted greatly to the SBD conversion, but shop-wise...I can't tell how many items total are stocked and how many free spots I have. Also finding it difficult to get to customising a pet.

I'm going to scream; did they use AI in the explanation for the html changes??? Under "What stopped working", they said "Around 2020 the page frame around your shop was rebuilt, and these selectors no longer exist. Rules targeting them have quietly done nothing for several years." I have developed a visceral reaction to the unnecessary use of the word "quietly" because it has become a favorite of AI speech. How irritating.
