Turns out, something was broken, and to make up for it, TNT has automatically completed the third riddle for any Neopian who's properly attempted the fishing step over the past few days.
A community ambassador posted to relay this message from TNT:
fyi folks — the fishing riddle continued to be broken even after the first fix. It should be working correctly now but as a gesture of good will everyone who started this section of the epilogue over the past few days has had the fishing part automatically completed by TNT (you still have to do the string step that follows it yourself).
However, only the fishing part is done—you still need to complete part 2 and visit the Mysterious Negg Cave to actually pick up the String of Air Waves and Bag of Air!
Due to this glitchiness, the exact requirements for riddle 3 are still unknown since it wasn't working for most! If you're starting it fresh, let us know what you find works for you.
