UPDATE, April 2nd: The special items released yesterday for the avatar are still restocking today, and the avatar is still available.

It seems that TNT artists have gone missing today! In their absence, a bunch of crudely drawn items have been released by others filling in.

A slew of new items are restocking around Neopia:

@queen_megs Unknown at the moment, but the avatar popup suggests to me that it will stay available, as it mentions "released" today, rather than needing it to be today.

I've got 2 NC items that were made in artists' day off (Perfect Landing Background and It Took Me 7 Hours To Animate This Foreground). However, they didn't give me the avatar.

these avatar items either take FOREVER to end up in the shop wizard, or more likely never appear outside of the trading post for less than 50mil because how rarely they actually restock 🙃

I finally managed to buy an item that was on the 2nd list (from clicking the link at the bottom of an artists day off item posting, was so pleased, and got no avvie. Spent sooo much time trying to buy any of the items on the original first list and failing ... think the joke definitely on me ...

Too many people complaining about these items. THEY JUST CAME OUT. Not all avatars have to be easy to get. That's the point. As more come into the economy they will be easier to obtain; that's how economics works. Neopets fanbase is probably one of the most ungrateful fanbases out there. And if the avatar is only available today, you can get it next year. Chill out.

anyway no one said you can't make creating "good" art in MS Paint your whole personality (i think art drawn by young artists in ms paint is already good on its own), MS Paint just has a reputation as the first digital art program of a generation of artists because it's free and already installed on your computer if you have Windows. I don't think being the tool of a lot of beginners is a bad rap at all, it's just iconography.

@cabbil_bane the avatar is from viewing the item in your inventory. restocking itself does not award the avatar (you don't even need to restock it at all, if you get it from another player)

Seconding or thirding or fourthing "well I literally didn't realize they actually did do a joke today." I even checked the main page (Festival of Neggs) and New Features (not updated at the time) and didn't see anything. Bummer! Hope the avatar is available from the items year-round

I think a lot of the complaining is due to the fact that we don't know if it's going to stick around, as a lot of the past april fools avatars were only available that day.

Just confirming that at least a bit after midnight nst the avatar was still active when lent to a user. We don't know if the items are still obtainable but at least the avatar was obtainable up to 12:19 midnight NST

Clearly yall don’t fully get the manipulation of this game’s economy and how people will snatch up, hoard and resell these items for ridiculous prices knowing there’s some form of value (an avatar no less) attached to them

It’s the little things that keep making this game just a little more unfun, on top of the NC ‘April fools’ style release which is just. Ugh.

Guys the rarity on these items doesn't even seem especially high? I know people get really touchy about avatars, but this one really doesn't seem that hard to get if you just wait a little for items to get out into the market. You don't even have to use up an item to get the avatar, you can just give it to someone else after.

I'm not an avatar collector so maybe I just don't understand, but I kind of thought the appeal of collecting them in the first place was that it's a challenge, and might take a while.

Idk. I really like the staff-drawn items, I think they're funny. I wanna get a couple of em for my gallery.

Another ridiculously difficult avatar to obtain...... Thanks a lot TNT!!! I hope the people that dump money on fake useless things is enough people to keep Neopets going when the rest of us leave the site due to frustration over how much Neopets has changed into a pay to "win" or obtain anything cool. I've wasted so much money on Premium & NC over the years and I realize it was just a complete waste of money!!! And those items are just not very nice to look at and then people expect other players to pay copious amounts of NP to buy any of those items from them. Nice joke on us TNT but it's NOT funny or clever. SMH 24 years on Neopets and it's just turned to......

It’s ridiculous that they removed artist days off and then instead of an April Fools’ Day prank, they celebrated artist stay off instead.

They had the audacity to cut a bunch of holidays, and then observe one of the cut holidays on a holiday they kept

@namelesskangaroo Artists Day Off was not a holiday (and thus not on the list of recently cancelled holidays, either). It was a theme day they pulled out randomly a handful of times in the past, not on any schedule or routine basis.

@butterflykestrel The items (and avatar) are still available today. There's no indication any of them will retire any time soon.

(So yes, you can wait for the rarity 50 soup item to become dirt cheap!)

@butterflykestrel They are still restocking, and should stay available.

As such, this avatar will become really cheap to get soon enough, especially with the Tasteless Sausage Soup being a very low rarity of r50, and other items being low enough in rarity that plenty will appear of them daily.

Has anyone made a list of the items and where they're located? I know JellyNeo has that, but it's a lot of going back-and-forth between getting the item name, searching, noting, getting the next item name, etc etc etc... If anyone's already done that, I'd appreciate seeing a list... Or, JellyNeo, if you could post something like that, that'd be great, too!
