Roblox Beta Returns

You may remember that back in December, Neopets launched a Roblox Experience called Neopet Gardens. Today, the game has relaunched under a completely new version. If you were one of the people still playing the original, you may have noticed it is no longer available as of last week.

If you played the previous game from December, your progress will have been wiped, including the exclusive Usul colour unlocked with their Christmas event. While the first version focused on unlocking new slices of land on an island by gathering resources, this version has reimagined the gameplay.

Now, it is mainly focused around planting and harvesting crops, and decorating your plot of land with Neopets themed items while your Neopets offer passive bonuses to you. Other features like different colours are slated to be coming soon.

Note that, as with the previous version of the game, there is no linking to Neopets accounts nor any on site rewards for playing.

Eww, Roblox

Doesn't "Don’t miss the Neopia Central Tour for a Neopoints reward" imply, from the email, some sort of on-site rewards? I hope I don't have to play another game.
by lemniscate on March 13, 2026 3:14 PM NST
@lemniscate: Neopoints are a currency within the Roblox game. That's where you'll be rewarded them, not on Neopets.com

Thanks for clarifying!

No on-site rewards? Not interested.
by meghan on March 13, 2026 3:46 PM NST
i don't think roblox allows off-site rewards? this looks really cute tho. i've been wanting a new chao garden type game forever. too bad trying to run it will probably cause my current laptop to burst into flames.
by guardianrooko on March 13, 2026 5:03 PM NST
Wonder if TNT will push Neopets Garden as much as they do their other mobile apps. Given that Neopets Garden is disjointed from the Neopets ecosystem.
by go_bruce on March 13, 2026 5:57 PM NST
I just want to know who this is supposed to be targeted towards? With the style of gameplay the site gives, I don't think a lot of younger folks will be joining the actual site due to this.
by dairyqueen14 on March 13, 2026 6:59 PM NST
Admittedly I haven't played this, but it sounds like a Neopian reskin of Grow a Garden. With the popularity boom that had last year, I feel like this is a reasonable window of release for a "Hey, that game's popular! Copy it and also earn a lot of money!" game. (Like Every Big Game Company CEO after Overwatch. Worked out great for Concord and Highguard.)

I don't imagine there's a lot of push for driving new, younger players to the actual Neopets site, as much as hoping this copy-of-a Roblox game will earn them $$$MAD ROBUX$$$ that they can then cash in for fractions of cents on the dollar, or whatever

Is everything going OFF SITE? and if it stays here it's NC smh
by rosemarie2003 on March 14, 2026 12:55 AM NST
Ah yes, I love seeing my once "be careful not to contact people off-site, kids!" website branch out to places that make it quite easy for people with ill intend to contact children. Such a great thing to promote, TNT! #sarcasm

stupid didn't got anywhere
by anydarnedthingeez on March 14, 2026 3:15 AM NST
Not good. We all know about Roblox.
by qu1nns on March 14, 2026 6:21 AM NST
so they're just ignoring the Roblox situation?? this is one move that is absolutely confusing, nobody should be partnering with them after what their CEO said about not going after predators
by rowenstarchild on March 14, 2026 6:49 AM NST
I mean it’s pretty unique compared to other GAG (Grow A Garden) clones with the resource gathering feature, but maybe making a spin off game on Roblox of all platforms probably wasn’t the best idea right now. Pretty terrible timing I’d say. If the game released on Roblox before the numerous controversies arose, it most likely wouldn’t be as disliked, if you catch my drift.
by kaizar on March 14, 2026 11:15 AM NST
By the way, I don’t support Roblox at the minute, I still play, but I won’t be supporting them money wise. I hope I don’t start a war in this comment section lol.
by kaizar on March 14, 2026 11:17 AM NST
and here i was hoping this was a cool spin-off habitarium game for onsite.
by inkpot on March 14, 2026 2:12 PM NST
sometimes i feel like people are too critical of tnt and then tnt partners with a game that has an entire wikipedia page dedicated to its child safety controversies
by tinyaquarium on March 14, 2026 8:00 PM NST
"If you were one of the people still playing the original" is a really funny statement since the original roblox game was terribleeeee. more of a buggy tech demo with monitization than an actual game

I played this new game for a minute. it uses the same assets and is a pretty standard roblox tycoon game. but it does actually LOOK like a game instead of just being a baseplate in an endless ocean lol
by mortos on March 14, 2026 11:29 PM NST
@meghan: ...you genuinely thought a roblox crossover would give you in-game prizes??
by oceanhazel on March 15, 2026 9:18 AM NST
"Tnt put more effort into this..."

This is outsourced. They paid other people to do this. Because that's what they're doing with whale money. Putting it into outsourced projects.
by missspoke on March 15, 2026 10:49 AM NST
With it being Roblox, is it unreasonable to guess that some of that outsourced labor ARE children, being paid in robux? ¯|_(ツ)_/¯
by gun on March 15, 2026 5:08 PM NST
sure love this kids site doing all the collabs with games infamous for enabling child abuse and grooming (habbo is gross enough now this??)
by xxemoaishaxx on March 15, 2026 10:23 PM NST
i hope this isn't too off topic!: all the outsourcing of lazy uninspired half finished products and the abandonment of longstanding humble niche features is so reminiscent of companies like CCP in particular (prev mgmt comparable to like Embracer Group tbf lol) trying to just brute force side projects that remain half baked, folding laundry is more stimulating than ToD. I digress; im not here to polarize... i know my thoughts on this don't matter cos i'm not a whale tho lol (sorry dom you can't have my food stamps and i'm leaving adblock on cos you have intrusive ads cover elements and lag the site to a crawl and crash my browser.... lol)
by xxemoaishaxx on March 15, 2026 10:48 PM NST
No. Faerie Fragments-money, money, money. After about level 130 it becomes almost unplayable. Tales of Dacardia, nothing else to do but get the seasonal bone. Remember Legends and Letters?? GONE, there was another one, GONE. Why not make the games that ARE out playable farther than just a few achievements and you're done and can't progress any more. I'm talking about Tales-no more lands? Why have it?
