Sakhmet Soiree Prize Update

The Sakhmet Soiree event has had an update to its prize structure to be a bit more generous.

If you haven't been following along, the Soiree was paused last week to fix some exploits in the game and officially restarted with a fresh leaderboard on Monday, February 2nd. (This means if you have not sent a score since February 2nd, you need to send another to be eligible for a final prize!)

In today's update, the following prize structure was put into place:

  • Top 5: Platinum (Solitaire Soiree Champion), Golden Sakhmet Solitaire Playing Cards, Queen Amira Collectible Playing Cards (previously this was split between 1st, 2nd and 3rd places)
  • Top 10: Gold trophy, Lost Desert Paint Brush, Princess Amira Rug (previously gold trophy was for 2nd and 3rd places only)
  • Top 50: Silver trophy, Sakhmet City Card Hall Background (previously silver trophy was for 4th through 10th places only)
  • Top 100: Bronze trophy, Holographic Sakhmet City Stamp (previously bronze trophy was for 11th through 50th places only)
  • All Participants: Solitaire Soiree Ribbon trophy, Sakhmet Soiree Avatar, Sakhmet Solitaire Playing Cards (previously the ribbon trophy was for 51st through 100th places only)

For most folks, the important update here is that sending a single score during the event will now net you a trophy for your userlookup, in addition to the avatar and item prize.

The event runs until Sunday, February 15th, 11:59 PM NST. Participating is simple: play the new Sakhmet Solitaire II game and send the highest score you can achieve between now and the 15th! Your highest score during this 2 week period will be your leaderboard entry and will determine your final placing. Both scores sent via the Neopets.com site and scores sent through the now globally released Companion app will count for the event.

good! a participation marker is standard in every other event it seems and i am glad we will be getting one. because my pathetic scoring self will NOT be getting anything else lol.

I love how, before they reset the score board, I was in the top 100 for a few days, (without exploit), yet now that the scores are supposedly more "fair" and the cheated scores should be gone, I'm somehow not even in the top 1000. With almost the same score as I had before. So I'm just glad I'll still be getting a ribbon. And of course the avatar.

I read a couple of comments that said the prizes should be based on score, not scoreboard placement because 70% of the top 100 all have the exact same score, and there's a lot of bots in the top 100. I definitely agree that would've been better, but this is something. Hopefully TNT will remove the bots from the leaderboard, but.. yea.. probably not. Hopefully they'll at least learn from this if they do another similar event. The event itself was a nice idea, imo.

Lol I just read that more than 700 people have the exact same score of 2242 on the new, reset leaderboard. Definitely fair game play. Yup.

I don't know why everyone made it sound like there was no participation trophy if we weren't in the top 100, it showed right in the event rewards what would be received for "participation" and that trophy is way nicer looking in my opinion than the ugly ribbon thing
so thanks for nothing cause now I'm going to be stuck with that ugly thing

I'm still waiting on confirmation either from ambassadors or from TNT that the "Queen Amira Collectible Playing Card" isn't an Album item. There's no page for Playing Cards yet, but I wouldn't doubt TNT would make an album item that there are only 5 of.

@lukky293 What are you on about? Anyone below the top 100 was only going to get an avatar and an item. There was no trophy for participating before, at all.

Hm, odd, I played yesterday and the score I submitted didn't seem to save?

Well I played & send score today for sure (though I only got just above 1900). Hopefully when the scores refresh midnight NST today it'll have recorded, I don't think I'll be able to get a "top spot" but at the very least I can get the ribbon and avatar.

I find it unhealthy that the developers seem more and more reliant on user feedback to make balance changes.

Why does it feel like they never get it right the first time? I am worried that, as core designers leave or are let go the remaining team becomes more operational and less creative, wonder if they don't have enough understanding of the game and are understaffed, everything keeps coming out half baked...

And here I thought my previous 2,166 score was a legit one before It got erased.

There I see the lowest among the top 10 Is 2,255 meanwhile I am currently placed at 4707 position with a score of 2,079

Totally legit scores.... *rolls eyes to the back of my head*

Investors care about how much a company is *actually* worth, not just the bots keeping it active making it look like there's more active players. its worthless to advertisers. you cant advertise to bots...

So with a lot of companies struggling to get investors/advertising, maybe they had an actual incentive? idk. it just seems... strange they chose this to really care. there's SO many games.
anyone who looks at the highscores can see.

I sent a ticket a long time ago about just one that was a *suspiciously* strange for a 2 day old account, had already "played" 120 games with alllll the highest scores and tons and tons of trophies, some that dont even exist/retired. (like 2007? and daily dares, etc -___-)
got an a generic response. super frustrating.

granted the quest pool and everything help inflation, and a lot of changes are helping.
but game scores, woof.


Now im 3,346th in line, which is fine if its legit. But I had a score of 2,155, and I think I would have been in the top 200 or 300 before this reset. oh well!

That's actually the Avatar, previously those who didn't get into the Top 100 got no trophy; just the Avatar and participant prize (Sakhmet Solitaire Playing Cards). Now, in addition to the Avatar and item, everyone who participants who don't get into the Top 100 gets the participant ribbon.

My score before the wipe was 2217 and I know that would be no where near top 200; let alone top 200. It is crazy how all the scores are supposedly from "legit" players when you can look them up and tell they aren't.

I played and sent score on Monday and yesterday, none of those scores were recorded. It was then pointed out to me that even my High Score List isn't recording any games played. I just played a few games and still it hasn't appeared on my high score list (which it should once I play and send score). So I don't know what's going on.

Good developments. I really need them to fix the exploit that's resulting in tons of 2242 scores before I feel like it's remotely close to being fair.

So with the sitewide guild battledome event, didn’t TNT go and check bots and cheaters and disqualify them? Hopefully something similar happens this time too because there is very clear bottoming happening for the amount of shell looking accounts all with the same score.

Also, I really hope the card prize isn’t an album item, I was excited to be able to do this album fully as it’s released and only having 5 cards given out is WILD I thought it was gonna be all rotational battledome opponents… dang that stinks

The link to the discord post doesn't work for me either, it "opens" and at the top it says Stamp Collecting but nothing is loading. I'm guessing you need to be in the corresponding server for it to load.

Either way that's good to know! Personally I assumed it wouldn't be, it looks nothing like the other collectible cards in the album and it would've been an AWFUL choice, but it's good to have confirmation.

Kind of sad that my score of 2225, which is higher than my 2185 score from before.. Is way lower… Because I was like 200-something and now I’m in maybe the 1300s.

That was a tough score to do too! But I am glad I’ll be getting a ribbon, if nothing else.

@reiryokuryuu I managed the exact same score and it was such a super lucky game I doubt I can even repeat. So i feel your pain. Before the pause, even with many people using (more) exploits, I was 600 something with 2209. Now I'm 1322. :/

For the people who are saying lower scores previously got them higher ranks: I think this was only because the ranking system wasn't working properly first time round. I had submitted two days worth of okay scores (2000-2100) and had confirmation of sending 8 scores on the original day 1 and day 2, but until the wipe it told me I hadn't submitted any scores at all. I knew about the 12am thing but even past 12am it was like I'd never played the game.

is anyone else finding that the cards automatically snap to the top cards even when you try to drag them to the playing field?

@sanajenko: I think dragging doesn't really do much. Cards are programmed to go to a spot they can go to, cards at the top taking priority. If you move a card but change your mind, it is going to move to a new spot regardless (provided there is a better spot available). You didn't think TNT actually designed a properly working Solitaire game, right?

Today I finally scored a better score than my first best before ait got wiped out. Went from 2,166 to 2,203, and I believe In the heart of my cards that I am not getting a super easy play like that again
