Here is where the money & effort of this team is going, instead of fixing the site & communicating with their (at the moment very angry because of all the bad & greedy decisions they took) playerbase...? Worst ownership of neopets dot com. Ever.

This does make me wonder if the mechanics of this Neopets Roblox game took ideas from the canceled World of Neopets app. Don't like that this is what TNT decides to do instead of fixing the site. Unless this is not created by Neopets itself, but instead licensed.

If this is official, this is... a REALLY bad platform to expand to. Yikes. Even if the main TNT aren't the ones working on this, I'm disappointed that the brand decided to work with this vile platform. Do better, Neo.

I'm just going to throw out a thought, if we don't support something that is "free" and doesn't offer rewards through neopass, then TNT will continue to make experiences that will cost money and require neopass, so everyone complaining about those things should support the free nonneopass experiences as much as possible.... just my unasked for two cents because I don't mind paying or neopass. *shrug*

i don't see the issue, neopets is a kids game and roblox is where the kids hang out online nowadays. the pets and backgrounds look cute
would be nice if this gets some traffic to the site, but i would feel bad for kids who try to play neopets now with how messed up the economy on site is. and the people who ruin events with scalping (:

Yes Neopets, Yes! Collaborating with a corporation that's currently getting sued by Texas for endangering the welfare of children and exposing them to predators online! The same game that's floated plans for child dating and has a CEO that's openly said child predators aren't a problem, but an opportunity for an AI company to collect facial scans of minors!

Has anyone actually confirmed this is a "collaboration" or "partnership"? I don't know much about Roblox, but it's my understanding that anyone can just make something in it and while yeah, Roblox Ain't It, I'm not sure this is an example of Neopets actually collaborating with them.

Okay, so, I get the thought process. Making a hit Roblox game can draw clicks to other places you do things... But *also*... **ROBLOX**? Like from a business perspective it makes sense if you want to draw in younger players - be that to the main site or to the mobile games - and they NEED younger players to stay afloat... But ALSO, **ROBLOX**? I'd feel better about a heckin' call of duty crossover, considering the predator issue that roblox has.

Oh no, not Roblox. Though this is only sort of related, "oh it has a Roblox mode now" is part of the reason I finally quit a certain popular gacha.

I tried the game and it was awful. Gameplay is standing around waiting for a twig to spawn then you pick it up. Do that a hundred times and you can unlock a new area where you can do it all over again...and again...and again.

I really hope TNT rethinks there decision to colab/license this Roblox thing. They're a terrible company that protects child predators This is actually making me thinking about quitting for good because I do not want to support a site that thinks it's fine to support another site that has known child predators on it.

Also, as much as I try, those 3D neopets look so generic, nobody who doesn't know about neopets will not even think about neopets like It's a brand of Its own, but like, just yet another Roblox feature created by somebody In the lot, It Is just hilarious. Hedge, I have no doubt even a person who knows about neopets will barely think It's a neopets unless they try too hard.

What is that happy looking tree? I don't know any happy looking trees in Neopia. There's the scary ones in the Haunted Woods, the angry one with the big brain and the super sad and droopy one in Neopia Central. How odd!

While I think the complaints about roblox as a platform are completely and 1000% valid, I think some of these comments are being unnecessarily harsh. This project is an early beta and being developed by an indie team (at least some of whom are Neo fans from what I've read), not TNT, and I imagine the budget isn't very high. Not to mention, it's FREE, which is something we should ALL be thankful for with how aggressively the site has been monetized as of late.

That said, I did play the game for a bit and have some notes:

1. Game is in early development so it's VERY rough around the edges. Lots of bugs. I expect this will get better over time assuming development continues.

2. It's an absolute grindathon and there's very little guidance. Currently the only thing to do is grind resources, sell items, and buy pet eggs. I kind of assumed from the art style that it was going to a gameplay loop similar to Adopt Me (a very popular roblox pet game, my youngest sibling used to play it all the time) but that wasn't the case. This might change since there is a way to feed your pets, but there isn't much else you can do to interact with them.

3. I understand that the devs need money and they deserve to be paid for their hard work... but $5 microtransactions to circumvent a two hour wait when the game only has 4-5 pets available and nothing to do is a little absurd

Bottom line is, I think that if you're going to complain about the game you should at least be informed about it rather than blindly hating on it. There are many valid complaints about it to be had currently, but a lot of the comments seem like knee-jerk reactions.

I did give it a shot and I'm not a huge fan so far but I'd like to see where it goes.

Given how many much larger brands have Roblox experiences (IKEA, Universal Studios, etc) it seems kinda wild we're all getting angry at only Neopets for this game. I don't think I'll be playing in the state it's in now but I hope it gets better and can maybe even introduce more people to the main site.

If TNT wanted for Neopets to join a game with a younger playerbase, they could have made an official Minecraft server instead

To reiterate, I have no issue with people upset about this being a Roblox game because Roblox is a terrible, evil company.

NeoKarens have lost the plot ngl. I think Roblox is cringe as much as the next boomerfied millennial, but come on folks lol.

As for the game itself, it look slike it suffers from what every Roblox game suffers from, deeply exploitative micro-transactions and a lack of actual content. But Neopets has been doing that for ages. I mean, they're doing it right now with Tales of Dacardia....

By the way, the "exploitation" stuff is a deep deep stretch. A YouTuber vigilante was banned - Roblox still participates and passes information to law enforcement agencies who actually have the legal authority and ability to move forward with cases. A platform does not need to tolerate or facilitate people acting like children and trying to lure players off-site, lest they be branded enablers of abuse. You understand that Neopets would also ban players who engage in this kind of behaviour too? Go on, bring up Discord on Neopets and then raise a mob on YouTube over long-standing rules being enforced against you. This incident has been taken to some wild sensationalist extremes.

Again, Roblox is cringe.... But so is Neopets lol. It fits right in.

I refuse to touch Roblox, and tbh, people will ban folks simply for speaking against them - you've seen TNT deleting posts that are simply giving CONSTRUCTIVE criticism about their behavior and how the site is run.


Roblox is allowing pedos to run rampant, and I can't imagine a combination of that and Neopets - of which may have its own group of creeps - going very well. Like, do we want MORE creeps on Neo?

Man its only been a few days and this thing has been torn to shreds on here and reddit, it's very clearly a bad move.. I feel bad for the team that is making the game and would suggest that they move away from Roblox and actually get some neopet user input to make it seem like they care about the site a bit at least. They called pets "neos" for crying out loud wouldn't have ever went with that even back in the early 2000s

So I was actually excited about this lol. All the negative comments on here are making me sad tbh

This looked extremely weirdcore and I wanted to check it out and see if it was interesting. But I've got all the island pieces unlocked except wherever you're supposed to hatch an egg to get your actual neopet and I couldn't figure it out but it sounds like people have done it and have seen the neopets...

Has anyone actually figured it out?

Edit: Someone showed me it's a tree inside the barn fence. Looks like a nest. Very janky to get an egg to randomly click into it. Took me like 10 minutes.
