Warning for Dailies on Monday, December 1

UPDATE, December 1, ~10AM NST: We believe the updates TNT warned about are now live. You should be free to do your dailies now!

TNT has posted an unusual note on the New Features about waiting until after "mid-day" to do your dailies on Monday, December 1:

Please Note: For December 1st (12/1), please hold off on doing dailies until mid-day to get access to the updated activities for the event. We'll also be bringing back the Premium Extra Prize perks, along with others, for the festivities this year. Be sure to sign up for Premium before the event to get perks starting on day 1!

What are these "updated activities"? TNT links to a FAQ that suggests there will be new, permanent changes to the prize pools for The Snowager and Taelia's quests. (The FAQ also mentions boosted avatar chances at TDMBGPOP during the Winter Starlight Celebration, though that is not new this year.)

No other dailies are named in the FAQ, but if you want to be extra safe about not possibly missing out on something, hold off until the latter half of the day!

How about they boost the chances for the Snowager avatar. My poor pets have been blasted SO MANY TIMES and I still don't have it.

weird. they run the website, they could just make it so you can't do dailies until the update...

i'm not thrilled about the continued encroachment of nc items into the np space with the advent calendar and snowager things, but i guess the boat sailed on that years ago. it's nice that they're updating prize pools for stuff at least

This is so annoying. If they're making changes that impact dailies, RESET THE DAILIES once they launch. Some of us don't have a choice as to when we do our dailies. Tomorrow I work later in the day so I'm doing mine in the morning, and I might have a few minutes after work to catch up on the new stuff but I'm not doing my whole dailies then. I'm so irritated with them lately...

I truly believe the Snowager avatar may just be broken/impossible for some people at this point tbh. It's been so so so many years... I still don't have it. I don't understand how that's possible lol.

Times given on Neopets are always NST, unless specifically stated otherwise. The default is always NST.

Neopian time zone, obviously. And no, it would be a bad idea to make the dailies not doable until they can do their thing, for people who can't do them later in the (Neopian) day. I imagine for TNT to be able to do manual updates at midnight, they'd have to be based in Europe or Africa, where it's around 9 am at midnight NST, or a good part of Asia. I guess maybe they could do updates in the afternoon from Hong Kong though.

Oh and interesting about the avatar. In the FAQ about the Snowage Charmer they said "The second prize has a small chance of being the Snowager Avatar, using the same odds as a normal daily attempt. This means the Charmer gives you an additional opportunity, but does not boost the underlying avatar drop rate." So if you use that, you can get the avatar without being blasted? Normally you get it when you don't get a regular prize.

like many commenters here I find the whole thing bizarre. not sure why they can't have it launch at midnight, many things launch at midnight? TVW updates for example.

further, I predict it's a totally unnecessary warning, or rather, way too broad. sounds like the only thing you really need to worry about is Snowy and Taelia and you can do the other umpteen dailies without worry. but learned from experience writing news posts and guides that you just never know with TNT especially before it actually happens!

Yeah, that's a good point. If they need time to do stuff and don't want players doing things, cause not all players are going to get the news, at midnight they may as well put the site "Down For Maintenance" until they're fully ready (make sure the new Daily rewards are being given out, the Advent Calendar is functioning right, etc.).

they will mess it up anyway so they have to fix it later is my experience from tnt when they took over ... so no i do not gonna wait and got the avatars mentioned anyway. i will do my dailies on reset and collect my advent calendar

You can just collect your Advent Calendar now. It's new prizes, as far as I can tell (don't know about Reina, but that prize pool is big enough I'd assume). Actually, IF TNT decides to toss the site into maintenance due to updated daily prize pools, it's probably better to get your Advent Calendar done now!

Asking us to delay our dailies is weird. That puts the responsibility on the players when normally TNT accounts for it with a day 1.5 sort of thing. It just makes me worry that they're doing last-minute setup work, which will surely break something...

Why they wait so long to get things working is a mystery to me.
Lately they seem to more interested selling NC stuff, then making their deadlines. I know they have to make a living, but they are beginning to annoy me with their lack of work place priorities.

Crumbs, I started my dailies before I saw this, so hopefully I stopped before I messed myself up because of this OTL I really wish they'd do things at midnight and not midday - it's getting pretty late in the day for me at the point, and a ton of people miss things because they didn't see any kind of warning about it to stop them. I really need to get in the habit of reading the jellyneo news before I do anything XD

i'm sure they'll address it in the news, so that's what i'm waiting for. i wanna remind folks we're coming out of a holiday weekend here -- sure it'd be nice if it went up at midnight, but i understand that some things need time to be implemented manually, and i appreciate that they gave us an early warning about it.

unrelated, the spot on the haunted woods map for the haunted woods hunt has disappeared for me? i may just need to clear cache or something. the JN link to the daily worked fine but that's odd lol
