Happy Eyrie Day! Here's what's new for this Neopet:

25th Anniversary

Over at Defence Magic, an outfit based on the Eyrie Guard is available:

TNT has also completed the HTML5 conversion on some previous pet day wearables as well, so they should now appear on your customisations again!

The new colour is a total joke. Gradient bow tie AND covering the beak? I also remember the colour being more radiant and the bow was different on merch. How can it be that an official colour is treated that bad while all these new NC items have all the love and dedication of their artists?

im so mad about this stupid anniversary eyrie i canT EVEN!!!! it's bad design decisions all around (white stars on pale yellow?? come on!!) but the sloppy gradient bow from 25 years ago (IS THIS WHAT THEY MEAN BY ANNIVERSARY) clipping over the beak is just!!! eyrie fans got robbed and they'd better fix this is2fg.

I don't know if it was an intentional design choice or not, but the bowtie looks eerily similar to ancient Neopets items, gradients and all. This is actually a problem, since not only does it not fit on the actual Neopet, but it clashes with everything else! I definitely think the designer(s) should have given this color more time in the oven.

Very cool clothing options, though. Eyrie Guard is my favorite.

By the look of that new color, I see they hate Eyries..

Everyone pretty much said what I was thinking. From the color, to the bow tie. It’s just truly sad they didn’t seem to even want to try..

If I was trying to come up with a gag, "Anyone can design these things" image, it would look exactly like this utterly embarrassing, hideous and total throwback to 2003 Anniversary Eyrie. My deepest condolences to Eyrie fans. It couldn't be uglier if it were actively trying to be ugly.

I hate the oet day capsules but ugghhh those items are so good. Remember when they released nice quality things like that for np? :'(

As far as the bowtie - bad choice for the color, would be cute IF hey went and released a "nostalgic" apparel set of something (and it didn't clip the beak). I know of people who would love something like the old-old art for certain pets (myself included xD)
but yeah it's bad on the color (which is also not nearly as nice as the other eyrie anniversary art)

Eyrie Guard looks cool. Too bad that mace is floating in nothingness rather than leaning against the Eyrie or being held up by some stand.. Otherwise cool.

That heavenly outfit is nice though. Simple, but nice

I bet they saw that 'accurate angel' costume as one of JellyNeo's costume contest entries and thought they could add to that!

I was sooo hoping for Burlap or Steampunk.. We didn`t need this colour right now considering we already have a NC Style version for Eyries. The colour is cute, but I`m just disappointed I didn`t get either of the ones I was hoping for. The capsule is alright, I like the full body outfit and will be using that. I also like the Eyrie Guard outfit - not the helmet, but the cape and armour. The Eventide Plushie is adorable.

The bow tie immediately reminded me of the early '99 / 2000 items as well, it's so ancient looking... but I hadn't noticed it clips the beak until now x_x That's just pathetic.
I already thought it was kinda lazy we were getting 25th anniversary pets for their pet days rather than all at once when their token counterpart released.. but then on top of sprinkling them out like this so they don't have to design brand new colors, you don't even make them look right... Wow.

With how cute the 25th Anniversary Usual was... I feel for Eyrie fans. Ya'll got robbed with that ugly MS Paint 2002 lookin' ahh bowtie. And the beak is BEHIND it? Excuse me? White stars on PALE yellow? Why not a darker yellow?? The bowtie is sending me into orbit. It just does not fit at all. I hope TNT fixes this.

Someone on r/Neopets mentioned that there was a better version of this Eyrie already released... as a pin. Sure enough, photos of this pin were shown and not only is the coloration better, but the bow tie is properly drawn, shaded and not clipping through the beak!

So, it makes me wonder if this Eyrie was the prototype/beta that was uploaded by mistake, or if TNT lost the original file used to make the pin and hurriedly traced/copied it to make Eyrie Day, or they forgot how the pin looked (and maybe hoped we did, too) and slapped this together as fast as possible because, who cares about freebies amirite?! Now, pay up for the capsule if you want a more worthwhile Eyrie look.

Regardless, not cool, man. Not cool.

My very first neopet (and still my main gal!) is a gorgeous eyrie. Each Eyrie Day I hope...and hope...

Sometimes a new eyrie paint brush color is lovely - I particularly like the chocolate eyrie - but this is...dull and boring. I wasn't that fond of the pin version but this 'live' version is even worse.

Why is no one mentioning the horrible orange accents? ORANGE? Ugh. Would love it if someone could do a fan art edit of this so we could rinse out our brains and see what a good Anniversary Eyrie should look like.

I've given it some thought and, while it does look off and not that great, maybe it was the whole point to make the bow tie look "ancient" in comparison, art-wise. It IS an anniversary colour after all, here to celebrate the new AND the old?

(Also, one can make pretty good looking art in MS Paint! Don't slander the poor old program and give it a try

)

My biggest problem with it is the orange. It looks terrible with the yellow, and it visually interferes with the Eyrie's beak, which is also orange.

I actually don't hate the orange/yellow combo. It just looks incredibly washed out/faded. If the yellow was a deeper yellow, the white stars would pop out more and if the orange was brighter, it wouldn't be such an issue with the beak. The bow's just boring. Something more like the bow @neolodgeism has (a little larger/less stiff, which is also more inline with the other anniversary pets' bows anyways!) would be fun, and again, if the blue was brighter (similar to the Kougra's bow), it'd help tie the whole colour together.
