I asked "What actionable steps do you plan to take to address transphobia within the neopets team itself?"

I'm seriously considering going on hiatus at this point, not solely due to the way that trans folks are being treated by TNT, but that's a large part of it.

honestly something tells me they're gonna cherry-pick questions again and answer the easiest ones... :/

I've seen countless people asking when the plot is returning, so hopefully they'll give us an answer on that

bring back the AMA's we want more grundo codes!

Asked about the increase in pay-to-win avatars that nobody really wants... I'm sure all important questions will be ignored as usual, though, or replied in a corporate way "distract your concerned users with shiny things and do nothing meaningful in the end". 🤷‍♀️ Sorry, I really want to love this game and feel enthusiasm, but as late this game has done nothing to earn that enthusiasm and love back...

Not better way to say exactly what they did on the last AMAs! They can do incredible things if they put their mind to it and hire the right people. Give the players more content + all the things they promised (purge, polished plot, etc). But at the end all we get is a Cool negg to make us think the AMA was all right

Bring back the actual AMAs. We all know they didn’t get rid of them due to “user feedback.” It’s because they can’t keep up with their own timelines and expectations.

well said @silvia and @mavix. i know the questions for AMAs were cherry-picked too, but at least they had timelines. people had expectations for them. it's easier to answer questions in a text dump rather than make a full-on edited video on them. no one asked for this change. and, considering the last blog update, i don't think they're going to give us a shiny thing for this one... they didn't the last time

@morganjoisle - I feel like they've addressed this pretty thoroughly already with the LGBTQ panel a while back, and with the changes in rules and policies across the site. I haven't seen or heard of any transphobia since, but if you encounter it, they've given a clear path for addressing it, with new reporting methods, etc. so, not really sure what else you're wanting or expecting from them.

Wow already locked the topic. I for one wanted to ask when the Orion sideplot will return. I know, I know, a lot of you do not like him, but it was the most invested I have been in the site since coming back in April of last year. The adventure and mystery aspect was amazing to me. I will be seriously disappointed if they just dropped this whole thing.

I hope somebody asks why is it so hard to link Neopass to Faerie Fragments while for Dacardia it works just fine... as I really don't know how to address this matter differently from what I already did on tickets, it's quite lame to miss on so many things due to a bug Not to mention when will Dacardia have content update, I can't believe the game has 1 year already and we can still only reach level 4 in it (specially since I got to level 3 in two days, it must have been awfully boring for older players...)

Oh God, I didn't even know about this o.o Claps for whoever wrote this savage and relevant comment, too bad I don't think they'll ever stop giving avatars through merch/NC Mall... It's such a shamefully pay-to-win strategy, that once started there's probably no turning back. They know how many users are dead serious about avatar collecting and have already seen the green coming in... so the potential income they would need to give up is probably too high for a mere <i>chance</i> to clean up their image to an already resentful playerbase :/

Aww topic is locked but my biggest ask would be bigger inventory, and be able to transfer Nc items between linked neopass accounts without a giftbox! I dont want my items stranded on side accounts

@neolodgeism: Both HerdyGerdy (the ambassador, who has been a wonderful and consistent advocate for lgbtqia+ neopians) as well as the person who is putting on the Neopets pride event were warned and had boards erased. There are lgbtqia+ neopians who were unfairly silenced and/or frozen who have not had all their accounts unfrozen and/or unsilenced. I have noticed a pattern, and it's that the lgbtqia+ community is unfairly targeted by moderation. It's made me feel unwelcome on the site.

@neolodgeism Also there were reports (offsite, because you can't speak on the boards if you've been permasilenced) of trans folks getting penalized for talking about HRT shortly after the updated rules.

So are they doing this instead of their little podcast.

@morganjoisle - Any moderator actions that seem transphobic should be reported to TNT directly using the support ticket system. A new category was specifically created to handle such complaints, and it gives users the ability to include comprehensive information, screenshots, etc. that demonstrate a pattern of behavior.

I participated in the LGBTQ panel that TNT recently hosted, and I had an opportunity to speak directly with the people in charge of these issues. The panel discussion was more than 2 hours long, and covered a lot of ground. The biggest takeaway I had (as a previously extremely angry person re: these issues) is that TNT take this issue *extremely* seriously, they sincerely care about it and are committed to doing what's right. Inclusiveness is something they feel passionately about. I saw this firsthand.

One of the issues I personally brought up a couple of times and was quite focused on (because I see it happening here on JN, frankly) is the issue of homophobes, transphobes, racists, etc. coming into threads and saying a lot of horrible things, and that being used as an excuse to shut those threads down entirely, or as an excuse to disallow comments entirely on threads relating to issues of importance to marginalized and targeted groups.

This is how haters silence marginalized voices. It's not OK.

When I brought this up to TNT, they agreed wholeheartedly, and said they don't want to see threads completely removed if it can be avoided, but rather they want the users who cause problems in those threads to be dealt with.

It will likely take time for the policies and training to fully catch up to everything, and any information that users can provide via comprehensive reports will be a big help.

We can help. We should help. We have the best firsthand knowledge of these issues and how haters get around rules/norms via microagressions, etc.

Many users like myself suffer from eye strain and other vision issues. For accessibility, it would be of great help to have a dark mode setting for neoboards and neomail. This can be an invert. It basically makes the background of text dark and the text itself light, reducing eye strain and making reading easier. It would also be of great help to everyone I feel to have an accessibility category for future ambassadors. Thank you for reading this and hope this message gets passed along!
