Battledome TCG "Champions of Meridell" Expansion Released + New Avatar

Yesterday, the latest expansion in the Battledome TCG was released. This expansion is called "Champions of Meridell" based partly on the 2002 plot of the same name.


The expansion brings 472 new cards available through booster packs and a starter deck. You can find these at your local game store and several other chain retailers, as well as online through the Neopets Shop and Upper Deck site.


Notably, this release comes with a new King Skarl Hero avatar available from redeeming a code in the starter deck.


Additionally, there is a new set of exclusive Rare Item Code prizes, which you can read more about on our guide. About 1 in 8 booster packs include a code card.

i consider myself a stamp collector but not one of the top ones. imagine being a top stamp collector and then you basically have to buy the stamp with cash. rough!!

For over two decades collecting avatars was THE THING that kept me playing. At this point I don't even care about avatars anymore because of how many they keep pumping out to entice people to buy subpar products. The only reason I'm still around at this point is because of the community I'm a part of.

the avatar is so ugly compared to the starry acara/fire uni one... i know so many ppl who don't collect trading cards but bought the packs just for the pretty avatar... can't see many ppl doing that for this one... and i'll admit i myself am disappointed. i was expecting a cool kass/lord darigan/jeran/meridell castle avatar but no... we got a... doofy skarl.

outside of that though... i have to say...
that lord darigan card is peak art. quality stuff

While I agree, I think it should be in reverse; people buy merch if they like, and the warehouse code is just a little bonus. Of course, in reality it's the completely opposite and TNT is fomenting the FOMO. Not a very healthy relationship with the brand.

if anyone non-US is interested in the cards, I've been informed individual packs are available to order online through Hot Topic and they ship globally. not sure about shipping cost, though.
haven't yet found anywhere that ships the starter decks internationally.

I think Hot Topic doesn't ship the cards specifically globally. Someone mentioned earlier that you can call UpperDeck and do a special order outside of the US/Canada, though.

Anyone know when the kickstarter roleplaying game and the Monopoly are going to ship? I'm still waiting on both of those. Not interested in another game when the existing ones haven't even arrived yet.

I have no investment in these cards (the art is lovely but the layout/design of the cards is nowhere near as nice as the old tcg) but a 1:8 chance of a code is scummy. If you're spending this much money on something that - let's be real - not many people are gonna play ("Neopets still exists?!" is a common thing I hear when it comes up) it should be a guaranteed prize code. Though the fact that things are becoming extremely pay to win is a concern in and of itself. (the codes should be a fun bonus for buying merch you like, not the main reason to buy merch)

wish i could buy these in germany, the art and holographic cards look soooo sick

@silvia it's not about what users want. The new TN(F)T only listens to the paying customers, and it's selling, so they'll keep on releasing stuff like this. We aren't their audience anymore, the few people who drop thousands of dollars every year are.

wonderful. Another US/CA p2w avatar. At this point there's no reason to even bother trying to collect avatars anymore... It used to be such a nice aspect of the game but meanwhile it just sucks.

Yeah, I get it. A year or so ago I felt very proud because I got all the game avatars I was missing and got my avatar collector avatar with that... now, I don't care. I can't care for an aspect of the site I loved and strived towards, and many more will follow and lose interest. In my opinion tnt will get some money, but lose many users... and when paying customers will tire, too, of the small community left, broken and scammy gacha mechanic or will realize there are way better, healthier alternatives in other games, tnt will scratch their heads and wonder what they did wrong.

Aside from being a P2W avatar, I'm not interested whatsoever playing a TCG, so I would be wasting money on a product I don't want. TNT, please consider making merchandise worth having.

FYI I purchased the TCG Starter Packer and it did NOT come with any codes. I have submitted a ticket to Neopets to at least get the avatar. SMH.
