Herdy as Site Events ambassador should be in statue for as long as he stays on Neo. He is the lore god, and knows more than the rotating door of TNT staff.

(And his NT stories are far greater than the sludge written for the last decade of plots.)

I'm very disappointed, they need to have a cultural sensitivity ambassador, especially with their controversies around the treatment of trans Neopians on the boards.

@pancake - Good point, Herdy is a good ambassador. He's listened to people's grievances. He's done more for player relations than TNT's paid staff.

There's an ambassador that on their UL they say they forget to read their neomessages. I hope that's old info and they actually read their DMs

Besides that, I think this is a great combo of ambassadors, hopping the best for all of them!

Though, yes, I am confused as well why there's no pet trading ambassador or cultural sensitivity ambassador.

While there doesn't seem to be an single sensitivity ambassador, it is worth noting that the ambassador page includes rainbow flags next to the pronouns of ambassadors connected to the LGBT+ community. I know that at least a few of the folks without the flag support it as well. (The rest I am unsure on, but I doubt that any of them are trouble makers.) Be they members or allies, I wish them all luck with reeling in staff's missteps.

Ultimately, none of the ambassadors can catch issues if staff doesn't communicate with them, so I also hope that staff will step up to avoid future issues.

RE: sensitivity ambassador: I think it would be really hard to find any one person (or even multiple people) who can do that. How do you screen for that in volunteers? How do they prove themselves? Are they "broadly sensitive"? Is it "just" about trans, lgbtqi+? Cultural stereotyping? Or are we also sensitive to gender, economic status, colour, age, disability, learning difficulties etc? Most people will have biases and blind spots they're not aware of. Where do you draw the line what to be sensitive about? Inevitably, there's always going to be someone left out, and someone who's enraged those "others" are catered to in the first place.

With the pronoun labels and some ambassadors openly flying the rainbow flag, I feel that an effort has clearly been made to get some diversity and sensitivity embedded in the team on that front at least, rather than appoint any one person. I'm assuming/hoping all ambassadors will see it as their task to point out the many possibly sensitivities.

Congrats to everyone! I'm glad to see Herdy is back this time around.

@ziporen: It would be nice to know what the rainbow flag is meant to signify in this case - are they ambassadors who we're specifically supposed to bring lgbtqia+-related concerns to, or do the flags signify that someone identifies as a member of the community?
