Quest Log Page Goes Blank

UPDATE, May 30th ~3:45PM NST: TNT has shared yet another update on the issue in today's New Features update, which includes a promise of a Super Negg and the I survived the Neopocalypse! avatar.


Hello Neopians!

Thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and support as we work to improve the Quest Log experience. We’d like to take a moment to clarify our recent update and share some exciting news about what’s coming next! Unfortunately, we’re not able to retroactively grant rewards for older broken Weekly Streaks due to recent system changes. While optimizing the Quest Log behind the scenes, we needed to make some updates that affected how past data was stored. Because of this, we’re unable to see exactly which rewards may have been missed during that time.

That said, we’ve been hard at work building a better version of the Quest Log — and it’s almost ready! The improved system will keep a more detailed history of your quest progress so we can better support you going forward. Rest assured, however, that these updates center performance as the highest priority, and will make the Quest Log smoother and faster to use. We expect the refreshed Quest Log to launch sometime next week. When the updates release, the feature will be going offline at midnight and return later in the morning. Once it's back, all Weekly Streaks will reset — but don’t worry! We’ll be capturing your current streak data during the downtime, and you’ll still receive the item you were working toward, even if the streak isn’t completed.

As a thank you for your patience and understanding through recent hiccups, we'll also be awarding 1 Super Negg (the most valuable item in the current Quest Log prize pool) and the "I survived the Neopocalypse!" Avatar (if you don't already have it). To preserve the value of the Super Negg, we'll be removing it from the future prize pool. These grants, along with the formerly mentioned streak items, will go out to any user who has interacted with the Quest Log in the last 7 days prior to the upcoming release.

We truly appreciate your support as we continue working to create a better Neopian experience. Stay tuned for the upcoming update, and happy questing!

UPDATE, May 27th ~3:30PM NST: TNT has acknowledged the Quest Log loading issues in today's New Features update.

Since "improvements" are in the final stages of being implemented for Quest Log, there is a one-time reset on Quest Log Streak Save tickets for Premium subscribers. There will not be any additional compensation.

Hello Neopians! We want to acknowledge the recent Quest Log disruption over the holiday weekend, which impacted some players’ ability to claim their weekly streak prizes.

Our team has been working on improvements to the Quest Log for some time, and we’re feeling confident about our progress so far. We’re now in the final stages of implementing these changes, and we look forward to rolling out the updated Quest Log experience soon.

As a gesture of goodwill, we’ve decided to reset all Quest Log Streak Save Tickets used during the month of May. With updates to the Quest Log already in motion and nearing completion, we are not planning additional compensation for any missed rewards at this time.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to improve your experience!



UPDATE, May 27th ~7:00AM NST: The issue appears to have returned this morning. The page will sometimes load successfully after multiple attempts.

Our advice: if the page does not load within a few seconds, cancel the refresh and try again! When the page does load, it will load quickly. No need to wait the full duration for a blank page!



UPDATE, May 25th ~5:00PM NST: The Quest Log page now appears to be working much more reliably again. If you continue to face the blank page error, try refreshing until the page loads successfully.



It's not just you! Starting around 10:45am NST today, the Quest Log page loads as basically blank, besides the sidebars.


You wouldn't know it, but this is the Quest Log page!

We can confirm that it does rarely load properly, but may require several refreshes.

We'll update this post when it's fixed, or if TNT makes a comment.

OK - we know these things can happen ... what we need to know is if TNT will save our STREAKS, so we don't miss out on our weekly prize due to a fault in the system ?? Really hope there'll be a response from TNT soon.

After refreshing a bunch of times I was able to get it to load so I could collect my daily prizes. I get my weekly prize tomorrow so hope it's fixed by then.

Last week I finished my weekly and it would not let me collect my weekly prize. The next day it started my week over with no option to save streak and it had the same weekly prize. I am one day away from the weekly prize and now this happens! Come on! I don't want to have to wait another (3 weeks total) for the same prize!

I have refreshed, switched browsers, logged in/out and still nothing.

I still submitted a ticket even though it is well known by most of what is happening. I even mentioned saving our streaks through TNT because it is not fair that we would have to use them (when they even pop up) for something that is out of our control.

I had the same experience as @carriekeeler - I had to refresh at least 20 times if not more, and once I did the quests, I had to refresh at least 20 times again for the prizes to be clickable. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if these things didn't happen so often...

Took forever, but reloading it until it came up with what I needed to do, did all that, then reloaded about 20 times. I also visited Jellyneo and then next reload it worked. Just be persistent I guess.

After reading this I just went there and there is now a red exclamation mark on the tutorial tab and a guarantee your streak icon which I have never seen before.

Yeah, it's loading really inconsistently. My advice is to load it once to start the quests for the day, do all your quests and then only try to reload it again once they're all done. Once it's loaded you can claim all your prizes without needing to reload the page again.

I agree - TNT should give everyone a streak freeze reset, since it's likely a lot of people are going to be unable to complete their quests for the day.

Can confirm it will eventually load if you keep refreshing - I had finished my tasks and just needed to turn them in. Got it to accept my "finish" clicks and seems to show my completed day in the week tracker!

Refreshed 15 times. Needed to check a neomail, so clicked on the button at the right hand corner of the page/banner (telling it to open in a new window) and suddenly I had Quest Log! Then was merrily refreshing (10 times) to get the quest buttons to go gold and activate when I decided to use the Neomail button again, same process as before) and hey presto quest log ready to claim prizes. Phew! All claimed and up to date!

I wonder what they mean that It's 35% faster..... but one of their current Issue with lag Is how It's pretty laggy "at certain times of the day" ~.~

Hopefully blank Quest Log will count as a "I started the day viewing the quest Log", so that It keeps count of my quest progress...

It takes some refreshing. To be safe, once you get through, take note of all your daily quest tasks and then only try to refresh after you've completed them.

It is going on for a few days now, not just since yesterday. Me and my Neo friends have the same issue with the guild page; not loading or a blanc page, also Trudy is loading very slow.

It's just worked for me, although I had to reset my streak. Luckily this was Day 7 for me so wasn't too much of an issue. I will say that I had just turned off enhanced graphics on my browser but that could be coincidence

I had no issues with a blank page yesterday, but today I definitely am. I was never going to have a streak this time, so I'm not really losing out. That said with all the issues as of late, the constant premium push and the ads I'm considering just giving up.

TNT claims 35% faster, but in reality it's more like 80% slower. Quest page seems to load if you get rid of ads.

Odd that it loads just fine on my side accounts (all 4!) where I've never done a quest but won't load on my main...only difference is I do quests on main and have premium...I'm on mobile, same everything for all attempts back to back...been this way since yesterday for me.

BTW guys, If your quest log shows blank and you still haven't seen your quests, It won't count as you checked the quest log, so you gotta do whatever It takes to open It so your quest completion counts.

Just checked It and It didn't count for me when I spun the wheel of mediocrity or bought a potion from the healing spring.

Was not as bad for me today. Only refreshed twice before the page fully loaded. Completed the quests. Refreshed once. Page loaded and gave me me credit for everything. Refreshed once and earned all the prizes and nps. Had a more trying time opening Trudy and getting the wheel to spin properly and credit me. Everything else seems ok.

Yesterday I refreshed... more times than I really cared to keep track of >.>;; I had my browser set up as a split screen and was just refreshing while watching videos on youtube. It took me about 2hr worth of videos to get the quest log to show up to get the quests and also to show up to turn in said quests. I use Chrome for my browser (out of laziness more than anything honestly, I don't wanna have to shift all my bookmarks and settings over to a new browser lol)

Today things loaded just fine first try every time I pulled up the page! Which is promising, I think? The rest of the site has seemed weirdly slow today, though - I haven't been having lag issues like this in a while.

It's been happening to me for at least 2 weeks. The way I fix it is by pressing on the Neopets banner on the corner, go to my pets' splash page, and then going back to the quest log. It works 80% of the time.

I found it loaded on the first or second try if I was on my computer and closed it, and then reopened the tab using ctrl + shift + t . Works immediately most times, but sometimes i need to do it twice.

I not only lost my streak on the quest log yesterday, but this morning I lost a streak on Trudy's Surprise, which I know I did yesterday. So it returned to only 1500 np. I sure hope they do something to compensate us.

The quest log and Trudy's Surprise have been an issue for me for quite a while. Lost my Trudy steak last week because it never did load. Finally got Trudy now but quest is still not loading. Been alternating browsers and no amount of reloading on either have worked. Thanks for the updates. Glad I'm not alone.

can't believe I am about to give advice on how to *load a web page* but that's the state of Neopets these days

Quest Log isn't DOWN but it is UNRELIABLE. It will still load after enough refreshes. I've noticed when it does load, it loads quickly, like a couple seconds. When it fails, it takes a long time (15-30 seconds or more) just to load the blank page.

So what has worked for me multiple times now: count to 5, if it hasn't loaded by 5, just refresh again. I did this just now, took 12 refreshes which took about 1 minute.

I've been doing the 'wait five-to-ten seconds' trick for at LEAST five minutes now and did so earlier. Ads are loading (as are the headers and footers). Was able to refresh and get my dailies done last time but this time, I've spent at least ten minutes total trying to load everything.

What worked for me - Open the quests window in ~15 tabs on your browser. Refresh them every 2~3 minutes. It took a bit but eventually it did work. Quests completed and claimed.

Not only is the Quest page not loading. But when accessing our guild message board we get a message that there are no messages on the board. Also the names don't appear in our list of members. I sent a ticket to TNT on May 18 and have not had a response! They need to fix these issues or they will lose players!

Neopians!! Please try going in via mobile!!! I had very minor issues doing the quest logs through mobile and was able to complete it. You may have to reload the white page but its a lot quicker to get through than doing it via desktop/laptop!!! Good Luck!!

What worked for me was deleting all Cache, Websitedata and Cookies, then it loaded immediatly and I was able to do my dailies. Then it didnt load again, so I again deleted all Cache and Cookies and logged in again and it worked after 2 refreshes.

A few days ago I tried switching languages (on an old page layout) and then load again, that also seemed to help (idk why).

I had an issue a few weeks ago, where I couldnt collect one of my daily rewards and always got an error, after I switched the language a different prize was shown and it worked, so I tried it here again.

For any other premium members who are upset about this: if you cancel your premium subscription, there's a comment box where you can explain why you're cancelling it. On mobile, instead of refreshing endlessly, I started clicking on the quest log icon to load up. Worked after only a few tries, both to get in and then load my progress when finished.

I'm not gonna let this ruin my life or anything, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth that they are doing something for paying players, but nothing for non-paying players. I mostly sell my weekly rewards and I had plenty of NP right now, so it's kind of whatevs on that front. but it's not really fair that you only get a pass if you have a subscription, when this affected the entire player base, and it wasn't our fault.

Trudy reset for the third time this week even though I made sure to spin it each day. It took many tries to get it to load and credit me but I did fulfill the requirements. To have it not count and to be out of save tickets is pretty heinous. I guess, small mercies, at least it did not take away the nps I earned.

Oddly the Quest Log page loaded on the first go and awarded me the prizes and nps with just one refresh. I wanted to reroll my prize, but then the page went blank. Haha...

It expressed a very relatable level of frustration towards TNT, in that such advice needs to be given to make their mess of a site functional. Unprofessional? An argument could be made for that. Offensive? Towards TNT, maybe, but not towards players. And it otherwise helps players by confirming that something is still available, just not reliably. The all caps draws attention to these points, which TNT has often used to justify not assisting, and as such all players should be aware of. The rest was just general advice on loading times.

I first tried to load the Quests page shortly after 730am, EST US. Blank page again (which is progress from what I had been getting, which was a black page with the top banner and nothing else). After 30 minutes of hitting F5 (the refresh button) every 5-10 seconds, I gave up for the time being and went on to do other things.

It's now 10am EST US, and I just tried the same process: F5 every 5-10 seconds for approximately 30 minutes, and all I ever got was the blank page that Kenny has in the original post.

I understand that sometimes updates can have unintended consequences with other portions of the code/program, oftentimes it's not anything that was involved in the update itself. But I have to concur with the level of frustration that is being voiced by folks in this comment section. The introduction of the Daily Quests was a huge boon for all of us, and a chance for a lot of us to start to get neat little bits and baubs we might not have had the opportunity to get when they were first released. However, this is the 2nd time (to my recollection) that something has gone wonky with the Daily Quest aspect of the site, and it leaves me to wonder how much of this is "oops, we didn't think to test if that would be impacted" bugginess, and how much of this is "it's not a bug, it's a FEATURE!"

(Note: I work in IT, so please excuse some of the smarmy jargon. I tried to edit it out as much as I could, but some things don't translate well out of the industry and into lay terms.)

Today no matter how many times I refresh, it does not want to load. I guess I will keep trying, but I imagine the traffic to the page with multiple neopians also refreshing are probably not helping. I don't really see a reason for not offering compensation at this point.

I am on day 7 of the streak and don't want to lose my prize. I keep refreshing the page and just get the blank page every time I do. It's not fair if they only offer compensation for premium members to keep their streak, as not everyone can afford to go premium on neopets but I will keep trying, but oh well if it doesn't load today I could lose my prize. I will still keep playing neopets though as been playing on/off since 2004.

Duplicated about 10 tabs. Kept refreshing when white screen hit. About 5th reload of about 10 tabs, all became the quest page BUT I had about 15 to-dos instead of 5. All with rewards. Did them all. Got all credit. Only counted as one day BUT KEEP REFRESHING. It will hopefully load for you!

After hammering through to get my quests, and then collect them... I didn't think and didn't do my usual reload of the page before getting my 20k, and after hammering it a while to check it went through... and as has happened to me before my weekly tick did not happen. So that sucks. I guess I collect on Wednesdays now (Also is it me or is the site making anyone else's computer act like you're trying to play a 4k UHD game in a volcano?)

Up until today I was able to, eventually, successfully complete the quests. Thankfully without major hassles. Today? White page for the entire day. I'm in the UK, and it's getting close to 11pm. I started checking the quests, off and on, around 9:30am. For this to be a continuing problem is nuts. As is the disregard TNT has for all the people that don't want or can't pay for a premium membership. I've been playing since nearly the beginning and while I find it difficult to believe Neopets is still around, it's sad to have gotten my hopes up that things were on the upswing. Just a few thoughts that were on my mind... (btw, I've been paying for premium pretty much since it was implemented way back when. I was an adult when I started playing 25 years ago.)

Until TNT is able to actually fix the issue, maybe they should just disable streak resetting for all accounts entirely. Premium members shouldn't have to use tickets to fix an issue that isn't their fault, and non-premium members shouldn't be penalized either.

for most of the week i barely had any problems, maybe had to refresh once or twice. today i had to keep refreshing for hours (at least 5 on and off) to finally get the page to load enough to complete my quests. wild that theyre only compensating premium users, and only once while this is an ongoing issues. wouldnt it make more sense to at least wait until its fixed and compensate all players? i dont think they are handling this well...

After about a half hour of trying to get the page to load this morning, I decided to come back and try this afternoon. And I just now got the quest log to appear after about a dozen or so reboots. I completed all tasks, then tried to reload it again. It took me about 3 tries, but by golly, I got it. Sure hope they fix it soon.

I've been using firefox. switched to chrome, and tried a trick I saw on reddit, of duplicating the tab until one loads. I was able to FINALLY get it to load, completed my tasks, then it started giving me the white screen again.

did the duplicate tab thing again, in chrome, and was able to get it to load enough to complete my tasks + quests for the day.

wanted to offer my experience in case it helps anyone to get into the quests to complete

Welp, I'm glad they realized that their previous update was an absolutely GARBAGE response. They could've saved themselves a whole lot of trouble if they had just given EVERYONE a streak save ticket instead of only premium subscribers. Seriously, was the entire PR team hit by the layoffs? Why does everything TNT says or does lately seem to range from completely tone-deaf to overtly hostile?

I'm generally happy with the explanation, tone, and promised compensation from the most recent announcement, and if they'd just done this from the start instead of that slap in the face premium-exclusive "gesture of goodwill", it would have been all fine and dandy.

However, I dislike that with this announcement they've continued their pattern of subtly gaslighting us? Like they're not apologizing for their past rudeness or owning up to how bad they screwed up handling that, they're acting like this was the plan all along. There's no way they would have done this if the community backlash wasn't so intense, so an apology and acknowledgment that whoever was running PR for that did a horrible job and they promise to do better from now on would go a long way.

As things stand, although again I'm happy with this fix, I can't say they've done anything to restore my trust in TNT. If anything, this has only confirmed to me that they'll only do right by the users when they're forced to because the community outrage and cancellations of premium have become too much for them to ignore.

About the latest update: I think If they *couldn't* reward everyone, it was *still* a bad move to not explain about that and make it like they were rewarding premium users *only*. I repeat, it wasn't a good look and there was zero communication about it and why it was that way. A better solution would have been take the QL down entirely, re-launch it bug-free and reward *everyone* the after-bug compensation... TNT needs to do better in terms of communication with its users instead of enraging them *every. single. time*. That said, exciting to see this forgotten avatar being re-released again...

@bornfr0zen people aren't mad because there was a bug, people are mad because, after said bug, tnt was tone-deaf and compensating premium users only without a proper explaination about why that was. Please don't paint it as people being mad something broke. It's neopets, something always broke, we're used to that... it's the way tnt handles the afterwards that isn't... not good. And people have a right to express their opinions on the matter, because that means possible improvements of a problem tin attitude hat somehow always seems to happen. If you have a company or a game, it's imperative to RESPECT and address properly towards the playerbase that helps the site stays afloat. You can be "chill" about it and choose not to be bothered about it, no problem, acting like people have no right to complain is... not cool.

In short: I can say or do something offensive / not respectful towards someone (and not mean it at all). That someone can choose to "not be bothered by it", but If they feel offended or sad over it... it's human, healthy and totally normal. If you can be chill, congratulations! But other people that aren't you ARE allowed to express a rightful feeling of sadness / anger and they definitely don't need to be shamed about it by anyone. Different opinions and emotions will exist. Sometimes expressing sadness and anger can help make others understand what can be done better the next time.

It came across more as typical trolling by calling people pathetic if they got upset about something and expressed it. If you meant it as hyperbole, you needed to take it further to make it clear that it's an exaggeration rather than genuine. And it's hard to get hyperbole across in textual format, so some kind of emoji or "/s" indicator would have helped make that point. Otherwise, perhaps you would have gotten a better reception if you'd stated that you were talking about cancel culture? Or, perhaps said something to imply the "Canceling" part of cancel culture? Cancel culture isn't just being upset when stuff happens, it's actively trying to drive away money or otherwise sabotage success for the target of the outrage. You never mentioned people canceling premium over it, which is much more of a "cancel culture" response. You just said everyone complaining were insufferable fools to do so with no mention of canceling anything. Perhaps you're thinking about outrage culture?
