Chomby Day Roundup; Varwolf Arriving Wednesday 3/26

Over at Cog's Togs, a new "Crested" outfit is available, based on a Parasaurolophus:

Prigpants & Swolthy, Tailors, will be selling a (seemingly not wearable) pin featuring Tippens!

Finally, a background reminiscent of the Land Before Time's Great Valley is available at Mystical Surroundings for all pets!

Varwolf Release Date Announced
TNT have officially announced the release date of the 56th Neopet, the Varwolf: this coming Wednesday, March 26!

As previously announced, Varwolves will be exclusively available through the Premium species change perk to begin, though will have a wide release to all players this summer. Premium species change perks will be resetting for all active Premium players on the day of release, so if you currently have it unused, make sure to use it before Wednesday!

Elderlies are very nice! The background is a bit more cartoonish than I'd like, but it's quite good.
I will be using my species change tomorrow to get some PB clothes, and I have the pet picked out to morph into a Varwolf. Although we don't yet know how many colors will be available right off the bat.

I love the parasaur outfit and new background. I saw on the pet day request board someone had asked for a tree star wearable but it looks like that didn’t happen.

Also it looks like the event to release Varwolves to the general public is only a few months away. I kind of wish they’d given the premium perk a bit more mileage but it makes sense they’d refresh the pet change perk with such a short timeframe.

Hmmm.. Yes... I can't say I'm much of a fan of these designs, but.. hey if you like them, you like them. I just can't stop wondering who those dentures belong to, because they sure as heck don't fit a Chomby's mouth!

The Parasaurolophus is a choice... Doesn't look anything like a Chomby anymore, but I think that's TNT's point for bringing all these real-world things into their make-believe world..

The background is pretty. I've never watched A Land Before Time, at least not as far as I can remember (I was a Dino Babies kid), but it looks nice all the same.

So are we like, 1000% sure that EVERYONE'S species change perk will reset tomorrow, and not just those who used theirs in 2024 and haven't had it reset yet, like I've seen people saying elsewhere? I'd been saving mine for an Ice Bori, so I kinda want to use mine now to cash in on the whole "bonus species changes" thing, but I'm also really determined to have a Varwolf born on the first day they're available, and I'd be so devastated if I logged on tomorrow and my species change didn't work to get my Varwolf, so I almost just want to hold onlo my species change just to be safe

@psychedahlia TNT says, "Normally you can only use your Premium Species Change once per 365 days, but to celebrate the release of the Varwolf we are refreshing everyone’s Species Change perk! This means that if you’ve already used your perk for the year, you will be able to use it again, so anyone who has already used it will still be able to get a Varwolf."

@kenny The wording of that just makes me so nervous, like does "anyone who already used it" only mean those who used it prior to the announcement? If I use it today, will it not reset? I think I'm just going to wait, it's a bummer to lose a potential free extra Species Change, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I'm set if they only release the 4 basic colors (unless they do something unconventional with them), but if there are more we won't know what they look like until someone creates one! If I have the brushes I may just paint and see.

We didn't get a Tree Star (I definitely mentioned that) but this Great Valley background and clothing set works!

Also, I love the elderlyboy color; It's so clever and I LOVED that Pixar short! It always confused me as a kid and it still tends to confuse me now, just because it's so well done!

I almost feel like I need that EB outfit just for a crosspaint; Mostly the suit and pants.

It's so messed up that I'm away from home right now and I'm not comfortable logging into neopets to use my premium species change in fear of being frozen because they think someone else is using my account, or I am accidentally using wifi that a cheater used, and so on. Thanks, neopets.

I used my species change yesterday (Tuesday) once it was announced the perk would be reset as of release day, but mine never rolled over. The page is saying I must wait 364 days until I can use another species change perk.
