New Premium Perk: Double Lab Zaps

A new Premium perk has debuted today, allowing all active Premium subscribers to zap their pets and petpets twice per day at the Lab Ray and Petpet Lab Ray respectively.

At time of writing, the perk is still a little glitchy. It currently does not allow Neopets to be zapped twice, nor does it stack with Lab Ray Fortune Cookies (but is intended to stack). But we expect that to be ironed out shortly. UPDATE: This has already been corrected.

hmm... isn't working for me yet. noticed that before the lab2.phtml would load and give you option to zap even if you were done with your zaps for the day, but now that little mad scorchio doesn't let you get through

i did my zap earlier this morning with a cookie. at the moment i haven't been able to do my extra premium zap.

I have a cookie active with 1 extra zap, and the lab only let me zap twice before getting the Scorchio telling me I can't do anymore for today

I zapped earlier in the day, and when I went back, it must have been when it first got updated, so the scorchio was saying I was already here. Just now went back again and now I was able to select my pets and got the second zap!
I also love the petpets being laid out in a grid so I don't have to horizontal scroll anymore! Hopefully they do something similar with the pets eventually.

I did my zaps this morning, regular and 1 extra cookie zap. No option to do my extra premium zap now. However, the petpet labray did allow my 2nd zap.

We're seeing a mixed bag on the new perk working with the cookie. One of our staffers opened a fresh fortune cookie just this afternoon, and had no issue getting all 4 zaps (1x normal, 1x Premium, 2x cookie extras).

Guessing if you opened the cookie and zapped your pets before the perk went live, there's an issue with getting the 1x Premium extra today. Hopefully that's just a quirk for release day and it goes back to normal tomorrow.

I haven't labbed in ages but still, this is actually a Premium Perk I can get excited about!
I definitely prefer these kinds of perks over handing us rare or exclusive NP items.

So I only did my normal zap and cookie zap this morning before the lab ray was updated but I didn't get my second daily zap , I did for my petpet Ray though.

I zapped this morning with 2 extras from a cookie and it won't let me go again.

What are you still doing here? You've already experimented on your pets enough for today! This is a very delicate process, you know? Come back tomorrow if you want to try my ray again!

This is a nice perk, but... My lab is on my side acc :'( I really really wish they could find a good way to connect perks across accounts. (I am not a fan of the potential downfalls of neopass)

The new layout for picking petpets is a huge bonus on mobile. I don’t have to tap through them, yay!

This almost makes me want to get premium again... this type of perk is much better than handing out rare/exclusive items. Too bad we can't link our accounts in a way that allows perks to cross to sides.

Love the updated petpet lab ray page showing all of my petpets in a grid now too as I play on mobile, this is so much nicer!
I hope the regular lab gets the same treatment ^_^

On one hand...WOO!!! Gotta love more perks.

On the other hand...I've said it before I'll say it again TNT will really do ANYTHING except give us more pet slots.

@heznarrt - well premium already has pet slots, and while I support premium getting even more, I also hope regular users can also get a way to get even more other than premium.

They're gonna end up delaying the plot yet again if they keep focusing all their attention on adding more and more stupid perks. If you want people to actually buy Premium, how about you start with lowering the actual price of it in the first place?

I kinda wish they’d make it easier for new players to get to the zap ray, just a little, Ive never even SEEN a map piece let alone afford one!! But it is what it is-its still a cool feature for those who have it!!

@littlephoenix334 - the Secret Laboratory Map is a lot cheaper now than it used to be when I first started playing on my old account. According to jellyneo, the cheapest piece is around 11k and the most expensive is 530k now. If you save up your NP from Trudy and Quest Log it wouldn’t take you that long these days to afford it.

@wraithaisha - but is it possible to lower the prices? Like serious question, also if they don't add perks to premium they wouldn't resolve the main complain of premium users : not enough perks to make it worth it. Because, am pretty sure that it could be very cheap and yet people wouldn't really suscribe that much if it didn't offer much.

Dunno, I feel bad for TNT, not matter what they do, it will never be enough.... They delayed the plot to make sure people can like it, despite them not having the workforce to do so.
