TNT has posted a deep dive into the emergency downtime this past week, along with more info on the "exploit" formerly known as Quest Log re-rolling. At the very end, TNT also mentions that they are looking into how they might be able to give credit for missed Neopies streaks, but don't have any firms plans yet.
The write up is quite informative and addresses TNT's thinking behind recent loss of the weekly reward re-rolling in Quest Log. They also finally address using the word "exploit" to refer to anyone who re-rolled their prize, claiming it's a "value neutral" term and "simply a technical term for bugs that involve workarounds to trigger."
Notably, an expedited weekly re-roll feature is in the works, and it will:
- Allow you to re-roll multiple times on the same day
- Not require you to skip a daily quest
- Daily stamp progress will not be reset, meaning you can choose to re-roll on day 4 and keep all 4 prior stamps (except you can't do this on day 7)
- In a series of re-rolls, you will only ever see a prize once—you won't have a chance of seeing that prize again until you start a completely new streak
- Re-rolling now comes with a cost, starting at 10,000 NP for the first re-roll, and doubling each time you re-roll up to a cost of 1,000,000 NP
- You can pay to re-roll as many times as you wish (but obviously it starts to become financially unwise to do so)
- Everything above will be available for all users, and isn't tied to Premium in any way
TNT Luna is quoted as saying that this whole re-roll feature will be "launching later today"—so stay tuned to JN as we wait for it to go live!
