Today, an update for the Faerie Fragments mobile app has been released! This update launches the app's New Years event, which last through until approximately the 19th of February.
The event is similar in mechanics to the Christmas one, and is called New Beginnings. By clearing levels, you earn Bronze Coins. When you have collected specific amounts of Bronze Coins, you unlock new rewards in-app, including gold and blue coins, powerups, new wearables, and new borders for your character portraits. You can also again earn tokens to unlock a new character, Ascor. You will need 20 tokens to unlock him. There is also a paid track to this 'battle pass' type system to unlock additional rewards. There are also daily quests to earn additional Bronze Coins.
Note that this time, there are no Ascor tokens available on the paid track, only on the free one.
This event appears to only contain in-app rewards, not anything related to Neopets.com.
Additionally, there is now a daily bonus of 10 gold coins available through the app's cash store. You will need to scroll to the right in order to view and claim it.
