Neopets Social Media Mini Advent Calendar

Over the coming days, Neopets will be holding a Christmas themed social media contest called the Mini Advent Calendar. Between December 11th and December 25th across their Facebook, Twitter (X), and Instagram pages, TNT will be posting Holiday Baubles each day.

Each of the Holiday Baubles will come with a task to complete (such as liking a post) in order to enter into a raffle from which 150 winning entries will be drawn at the end of the event. Additionally, each of the Holiday Baubles will contain a secret item, and users who correctly guess the secret item in the comments of the post on the day it is released will be entered into a draw for that item, with 10 winners for each day.

Prizes for this include on site Neopoint items, on site Neocash items, Neopoints, new items within the Tales of Dacardia mobile app, real life merch, and 'NEW Holiday goodies'.

I already hate this contest. Not every player uses all social media platforms. There's also the point that if any members of the playerbase are still under the age of 13, that particular subsection of the Neopets population wouldn't be able to participate.

TNT: "Don't you dare meet one another off-site, nor mention the possibility of finding one another on different platforms! Now come join us on Facebook for this fun event where everyone can see you and contact you, especially if you're not careful!"

I've always questioned this kind of double standard.. Just lift the ban on meeting off-site already.

Such a joy for us users that DON'T use social media. Sure TNT knows how to make SOME users feel excluded (the same with the pay to win avatars they seems to be wanting to implement on site), and then the very loyal users that just say yes sir tnt and justify everything they do with the excuse they need money, makes us feel guilty for complaining about it by calling us salty, too =w=

I hate this. I hate exclusivity to social media or irl things.

The FOMO for some is strong, me being one.

And like, to guess the item out of what? HOW MANY in Neopets’ history? That could possibly be holiday themed??? Come on.

I like their social media best when it's sharing memes. I'd be more okay with these raffle spam-a-thons if the prizes were limited to Neopoints and Neocash. It's not fair to have exclusive items on social media, especially as another user pointed out: those under 13 (and even under 16 in some countries) aren't legally allowed to use social media.

Went over to their social media pages and could only find the advent calendar announcement posts from 20 hours ago (Dec 10th) about this event - totally unable to find any "advent bauble"

Assumed it would be easy to do, but either they haven't posted it yet or this is way harder to participate in than I anticipated!

I read the first requirement on Facebook and was 'nope' not going to bother. Absolutely ridiculous and for what? A miniscule chance of winning something. They can keep their social media contests.

I do like this types of raffles. Some of the tasks are fun! Guessing what object is inside the bauble in impossible, though.

man, bunch of complainers in here. i only use one out of the three sites but it's still a nice little extra. it's not that serious. it's fun and i like the bauble guessing game, makes it more interesting than a "retweet to win" thing. also the first one is super obvious, the image is a christmas negg lolol. though the later ones will probably be tougher to guess

I don't have any issue with them doing social media activities - I think it helps them promote the site. However, I have a HUGE problem with them having exclusive items/avatars, etc. on social media only. A person shouldn't have to - BIZARRELY - go to some other company's site in order to get All The Things on the site they're a member of.

TOTALLY agree with this. Plus, why aren't these things being run on the site itself? That's where we're playing.

They aren't being run on the fight because they are promotional activities to try to get more people to come to the site and play neopets. There's no point in them running them on the site when we are already players. They're trying to get new players.

Like I said, it's totally fine for them to do that, but they shouldn't do exclusive giveaways on sites outside of neopets. If they want to give away things like that, they should make people come to the site from social media to participate.

Personally you guys said all will get a prize who guessed the thing behind the baubles then I read this and something ain't matching up who is correct social media or jellyneo.net cause some of us are still waiting to hear back from you all about the prizes that are owed I've guessed 2 the fleaf and the candychan and I've never got any messages from you guys

I guessed one day correctly and got a message from the verified Neopets account on fb. That was on 12/16. Has anyone gotten a prize yet? I still haven’t despite sharing my UN with them.
