Tales of Dacardia Birthday Update + Chapter 2

Today, an update for the Tales of Dacardia mobile app has been released! The update includes the first major expansion of the story, introducing the new character of Pan who was not present in the old Island Builders version, and a new gathering area. You must have completed the previous story elements (constructing either the beach or mine) to begin.

Seperately, a short quest to celebrate the Neopets 25th birthday has been added, which will award an on site item if you are linked to Neopass:

Additionally, new autumn-themed decorations and a selection of office-themed decorations have been added to the cash shop. A new Neopet, the Aisha, can also be unlocked there, along with the Anniversary, Starry, and Striped paint brushes for your other Neopets (the Aisha comes painted Anniversary by default). The Brown paint colour has been added via blueprints in the Pearly Negg shop.

Finally, a bunch of birthday decorations are also available in the Pearly Negg shop, and a new selection of birthday decorations have been added to the Crabby Capsule paid mechanic. On site prizes via the in game Wheel have also been rotated to suit the birthday theme.

There is a Grundo, Zerix. He will probably not be sewn for a long time, however, as he is associated with the Crystal Plateau

Starting to feel like I’m the only one who dislikes the way all the Dacardia news is taking over the New Features page sometimes (and even Jellyneo at times). I know it’s probably irrational, but it just jars a bit.

I get less and less excited about Dacardia every day. I've logged a lot of hours in that game harvesting, decorating, etc., and it's just so boring and awful, buggy and disappointing, and TNT are constantly shamelessly flogging cash shop items when there's almost nothing to do in the game. It's pretty off-putting to watch them breathlessly advertise that they've launched yet another PAID feature/item when the gameplay practically doesn't even exist!

Especially since the second time I ever spent money in that game I paid for a bundle that I didn't receive. That was a month and a half ago and I STILL haven't received it, even though I went through all the steps of proving that I'd purchased it and not received it. The customer service for that game is absolutely unconscionable.

I don't mind JN covering Darcadia, but I hate it taking over news on the Neopets site when they have a separate "hub" site they could use to push that info, or, y'know, in the actual game/app. I don't play, but I assume they do announce Darcadia news in Darcadia? But no amount of them pushing it on the Neopets site is going to make me care.

@opie1kanobe1 if your Dacardia game is linked to your NeoPass you won't lose progress.
I had to uninstall and reinstall because I had on-site rewards pending since the end of September and never got them. No Halloween capsule or the new Crabby capsule, nothing would go through. After reinstalling, I logged back in and was immediately spammed with Neomails for on-site rewards

and my progress was all still there. I was nervous about it too tho ngl.

I enjoy this game when theres actual stuff to do! That being said I got through all of chapter 2's content in one day without even trying that hard. Time to tuck this game away for another 3 months i guess. I cant imagine spending a single cent on this game haha

The end of Pan's quest seems bugged for me. I made him the table and placed it and now there's no new dialogue.

@peanutbuttermilk - Yeah, the first purchase was a kacheek because they're my favorite pet, but silly me I was trying to be supportive of the game with the second purchase and didn't get the bundle I paid for. Never again. Waiting a month and a half for a customer service ticket is completely unacceptable when paying real money.

Where are these items: Bookcase, Whiteboard, Lecture Chair (maybe in the Pearl Shop but $$$), Lecture Podium, and Stack of Books? Where are these items: 25th Anniversary Balloon Arch, 25th Anniversary Celebratory Cake, 25th Anniversary Lantern Tree, 25th Anniversary Neopian Lands Sign, and 25th Anniversary Streamer Partitions? I completed Chapter 2 and used pearls to do 2 hours worth of quest tasks to be 3/4 into completing Chapter 3 and I'm not seeing any 25th Anniversary items! Who spends an hour to do quests? I'm afraid to change the Halloween Event Platform, bc I thought it should be a quest.

I'm absolutely baffled by the progress of this game, Pan has asked me to get more of the island cleared, but I'm one down on the shiny blue crystals needed, and I can't find anyway to get this extra one, think it may be linked to a quest from my Shoryu, but that tells me to grow a tree.

Can't find any in-game way to interact with said tree, thought maybe it would grow after a few days, but nope that ain't happening.

I think it's an intentional stop in the story, ala some pokemon go research, but there's nothing to imply that that I can find so it's just confusing.

@kaimactrash: There *is* a stop in story, but your quest list will be completely empty when that happens. The maximum progression right now is 2 Dacardite Stones away from upgrading your island to level 4.

ive searched everywhere for the answer to this but i cannot find it:

the "pan around the world" quest wants me to make a strawberry omelette for pan, but i cannot farm strawberries nor do i have a recipe for one. the red ruki is nowhere to be found on my island to even ask about it.

@kaimactrash: To get/grow a Palm Tree, you have to craft a Baby Palm Tree @Antiquity-Fixity, which I believe is 1 plant sprout (@Furtive Farm)+ 1 sand (bag) + 1 water (these 2 items @Secret Beach), then you will be able to craft a Palm Tree @Antiquity-Fixity by combining 1 sand (bag) + 1 water + 1 Baby Palm Tree.

@labardoodle: I know that it's weird, but the berries from Furtive Farm are the "strawberries" you need to make a Strawberry Omelette @Omelette Slab. The recipe is 1 straw + 3 red berries, both can be harvested at the Furtive Farm and you can harvest up to 5 of each item. Don't forget to check your Neopet after they harvested the items for you, you might want to reward them with an omelette if they're running low on food.

Honestly, I’ve never been so outraged with Tales of Dacardia. I have open 4 CHESTS from the wheel in the short time provided to get exclusive birthday prizes and I received 2 omelettes, 1 tree, and 1 fountain. Like HOW?!
