Charity Corner
2018
Granny Hopbobbin is back for another year of Charity Corner. This time, she is looking to help victims of the Wraith war.
The event runs from March 12th at 12:00 pm NST, through March 23rd (only 11 days!) at 12:00pm NST.
Neopoint Drive
This year, many restrictions have been lifted. It's time to empty those Safety Deposit Boxes! Here's what's new:
- You may donate any item, from r1 through r200. (See one exception below.)
- You may donate an item from any category--it's not just books, clothing, etc.
- You may donate anywhere from 1 to 5 items at a time. You do not need to fill the 5 donation slots.
- You may donate any combination of rarity items. There are no rarity rules like in prior years.
Donation Restrictions
There are, however, a few restrictions this year:
- You may not donate r180 items.
- You may not donate Neocash (r500) items via the Neopoint Drive. (See our Neocash Drive section below.)
- For the duration of the event, the Ever-Stocked General Store has been closed. You may not use it to purchase cheap items. (Items that stocked in the store that you already have can be donated.)
As a note, the Neohome Superstore is still operating as usual.
Rewards
This year, a major change has been made to the reward system. Donations no longer receive individual item prizes. Instead, each donation will award you with points that you will be able to redeem later on in a "prize shop" set up. For full details, see our Perks Shop guide. (These perks were only revealed after the event closed.)
The points you receive depend on the individual items' rarities. Here's a breakdown:
- r1-r79: 1 point
- r80-89: 2 points
- r90-97: 6 points
- r98-r100: 8 points
- r101: 1 point
- r102-r179: 4 points
- r200: 15 points
If you donate three r101 items (1 point each) and two r90 items (6 points each), you will receive a total of 15 points for that combination of items (1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 6 = 15 points). The points you accumulate will be redeemable in a final prize shop once the event ends.
Item Lists
We've prepared some lists in our Item Database that you may wish to make use of.
- Cheapest r1-r79 items
- Cheapest r80-r89 items
- Cheapest r90-r97 items
- Cheapest r98-r100 items
- Cheapest r101 items
- Cheapest r102-r179 items
- Cheapest r200 items (you probably won't want to bother with this one...)
Donation Tips and Strategies
Clean Out Your SDB!
Since this event has no item category restrictions, we suggest cleaning out your SDB! Anything and everything (except the restrictions noted above) can be donated.
We recommend checking out our SDB Price Checker tool. You can input the source code for each page of your SDB to find out which items you may want to donate (versus those items you may want to resell while higher rarity items are in demand if you want less risk).
We've also updated all of our Price Checking Tools to display the Charity Corner point value for any item found by the tool. You'll get a count of points at the bottom of your results as well!
Save Time, Reduce Lag
When submitting a donation, you'll receive confirmation of the donation that looks like this:
Clicking the "Great!" or "x" buttons will reload the page, which will take some time and create lag across Neopia. Instead, click anywhere in the dark area outside of the pop up! This will not reload the page but instead allow you to make another donation right away. Your points will not update until you reload the Charity Corner page. Don't worry, you're still getting credit!
Finding r90-99 Items
If you're planning on donating to get the most out of the prize shop at the end of the event, your best bet is to donate r90-r99 items. Below are some strategies to help you get these items as cost-effectively as possible.
Battledome
Don't let your pet's stats scare you away from profiting off of your daily battles. You do not need a good Battledome pet to make the Battledome work for you! Check out our Beginner's Guide for Battling for advice on getting started.

Dailies
Many of the dailies you probably avoid at this point because of the junk they give out are suddenly worth doing again!
Anchor Management
Fire a shot at the Krawken at Anchor Management and, assuming you don't draw back a nub, you may draw back one of these items!
Apple Bobbing
Though it is free to play, you can lose items from your Inventory or cause your pet to become ill when Bobbing for Apples. Clear your inventory before and visit the Healing Springs after and you should be good to go!
Coltzan's Shrine
You can visit Coltzan's Shrine once every 12 hours. It's free to visit and has no risk of negative repercussions, so there's no reason not to!
Fishing Vortex
Each of your pets is able to go fishing at least one time per day (sometimes more, it's random!). Simply rotate each pet as Active and visit the Fishing Vortex to pull up a line and hope you get this item. It's available even if your pet is only level 1, no experience necessary!
Grave Danger
Once approximately every 7-9 hours you can send one of your petpets into Grave Danger. If you're lucky, your petpet will come back to you with one of these items. No harm will come to your petpet while it's on this journey, so send it packing.
Lunar Temple
Channel your inner astrologist and you just may bring home one of these items from the Lunar Temple. Not to worry, we'll do all the hard work for you if you just take a peek at our guide.
Mysterious Negg Cave
Complete one Mysterious Negg Cave puzzle per day for a chance at one of these items. It's one of the more tedious dailies, but totally worth the effort for a free item to donate!
Wise Old King
Pick any options from the drop downs and the Wise Old King just might send you home with one of these books, free of charge, for very little effort!
Neocash Drive
The Giveaway Hamper Centre will be open March 12th, through March 23rd and is accepting donations of Neocash items. Donating will allow you to access a special gift shop with exclusive Neocash items.
To get started, you'll need to purchase a Giveaway Hamper Centre Ticket for every three NC items you want to donate. They are available in the NC Mall.

After you purchase your pack, choose any three Neocash items you would like to donate, and place them in your inventory. Any Neocash item is eligible for donation.
Once you've selected your items, return to the Giveaway Hamper Centre and select your Neocash items from the dropdowns.
You will need to confirm donating the items, since they will be gone forever:
Once you have confirmed, you will be presented with this thank you message and a gift receipt to spend in the gift shop:
NC donations this year do not count towards totals for final prizes.
Gift Shop
Items in the gift shop cost anywhere from one to four donation receipts (aka donating one to four times). When you select an NC item worth four receipts, you will also receive a Basic Gift Box in addition to the item. Below are all of the items available:
